I must say that after receiving this flat iron I went to use it and was loving it till I looked at the digital thermostat. As I was flat ironing my hair the temperature would decrease, so I thought there was something wrong with my iron. No where did I ever read that this iron would do that. So I thought I was going to have to return it till I went to a friends house who happens to have the same iron. She has short hair and it didn't do that to her, I happened to have long hair and hers did the same thing. Long story short I then realized that this iron just decreases in heat if you are running it through long hair... I still love it though! Just thought you might like to know this info if you have long hair...

My daughter and I have both owned several cheap $20 to $30 straightening irons and they have always died after about a year or so. When her last one died in December, I decided to try a more expensive one hoping it would last longer. I purchased one very similar to this for her. I had never been dissatisfied with the performance of the cheaper irons until I borrowed her CHI iron one day. What a difference! Being the frugal person that I am, however, I couldn't justify buying one for myself because mine still worked.Mine died a couple months ago, but my frugality kicked in again, and I thought I would try another cheaper iron. I got one that claimed to have the same features as this one and came with a two year warranty. It worked ok, but while traveling out of town a few weeks later, I again used my daughter's CHI iron. Again I was amazed at the difference in performance.
The clincher was an interview with the owner of this company on CNN. Apparently, he is a naturalized U.S. citizen and has made the decision to keep all of his company's manufacturing in the United States. How could I not support such a commitment to our economy? In the end, I got a better product, I got to support a great company, and I got to support the U.S. economy. What a bargain!!

My wife is happy so I am happy. So far we have no complaints about the product, other than the GFI plug doesn't allow her to have her hairdryer (also GFI) and this flat iron plugged into the 2 plug outlet at the same time. I don't understand women's hair regimens, but apparently that might be a detriment to some. I've had the chi ultra before, but not the digital one. My original Chi stopped working after a couple of years and I loved it so much that I had to buy another. I loved this one even more I have very thick wavy hair that can be out of control most of the time, but with this it become slick, shiny and straight! The price was unbeatable. I would definitely purchase this again and recommend it to who ever is even thinking about it.

I bought this flat iron as recommended by my hair stylist. I absolutely loved it! It had been the best flat iron I had ever owned. It is now about 9 months since I purchased it and it no longer works! It started to make a dull buzzing sound a few months back and I thought nothing of it. Then it starting making crackling sounds then low and behold it started shutting on and off and eventually the cord actually starting sparking! OMG!... I suppose if you want a good iron that you need to replace often this is the one for you. I am now gonna try a GHD as I have heard wonderful things about it. Wish me luck!

I bought this product and used it less then 30 times and all of a sudden it stopped working, it would heat up and error out. I believe this was a safegaurd built in as the unit would over heat. My husband took it apart and it was a bad solder and we threw it away. THE SAME THING HAPPENED TO MY SISTER, she had hers two months, she was the one that recommended this product to me. It was nice while it worked...but it died after 9 months and I was suprised to find out that Turbo Ion Inc/Croc does not provide a warranty for this item when purchased from here. But who could blame Croc, I would not want to stand behind a product that was a peice of junk either. This was my second one; the first died a little after one year (it started smoking and crackling when you turned it on can you say fire hazard). It is what it should be. I was looking for the smallest steam flatiron in the market as my large one does such a good job with steam. My hair is fine and curly which in humidity becomes frizzy. So far, up in north-east, it is doing a good job on my hair. It does not have heat setting which is a disappointment but it does not get very hot. Its water container is very small and I have to fill it up twice for my short hair. The iron is small enough to fit in my smallest purse(24X4X2 cm ) and does a good job on my fine hair. Its small bag (19.5X7.5 cm) has a elastic loop for its wire to stay put.

I am so happy I found this product on Amazon. I was given a bottle awhile back by my stylist and it was so awesome for my hair. I'm almost out and have been looking in every store I go in for this miracle in a bottle with no luck, I don't know why I never thought about the net until now(I use a different salon now and they use different products). With that said, this stuff is Awesome!!!!! My hair is not really straight but not curly either, kind of that in between wave that's soooo aggravating. Flat irons are great but who wants to wash, dry, flat iron, flat iron again b/c there's always those few spots that won't do right? I'm a busy working mom with 3 kids playing multiple sports year round, I don't have time for all that, with SSTT all I have to do is wash, apply, dry and my hair is silky smooth with no flat iron needed. It is not the worst flat iron I have owned.I thought I would be able to use this as a flat iron and curler. I was disappointed as the picture makes it appear as the outside plates heat as well. Unfortunately they are not plates,just the outside colored similar as the plates. I was also disappointed that as pictured the iron is somewhat rounded but it does not clamp together tight enough to hold the hair in place to use as a curling iron also. The plus side it does get really hot really fast. If you use oils in your hair it does smoke quite a bit. I guess it was a value for the price I paid, if you are in need of a quick replacement flat iron and don't have the time to shop around it is fine. I would have given higher rating but I was expecting more.

there are not a lot of I tried this because I wanted an alternative to the traditional relaxer I have natural african american kinky/curly hair and needed something to make it more manageable. Pros: it really works, it didn't make my hair bone straight but it dramatically took down the puffiness of my hair, made it shiny and silky, and had no frizz. Cons: its a long process (wash, flatiron, re-wash, re-flatiron), and some of the solution dripped down on my face and it burned! this is supposed to "natural" but they tell u to wear gloves that should have been a red flag right there. i am in now way a hair profession so would recommend your stylist to do it or at least a friend so it doesn't drip on your skin. bottom line I would try it again, i just wouldn't do it myself
Pros, it worked very, VERY slightly.
Cons, hair is hard while you try to blow dry it the first time with product, it can burn scalp, its a tedious process, hair puffs back up a little within hours after the process is completed, heat is very high(425-450) during the flat iron part, too high for our hair.
Conclusion...totally not worth the time, effort, money, and please keep a protein pack handy, as u will need it after that amount of heat!

I was 3 months in on going natural. I didn't want to do the BIG CHOP because I've always had hair although I was sporting the tapered short cut. I went to my nearest Sally's beauty shop and asked what could I use to help strip my relaxer and the clerk told me about this product. I eas a slight bit scared to use when I opened the box. I used it and it did burn a little for an all natural product. I did what the instructions said and I was amazed. It is time lengthy because of all the steps. Once I finished I really liked my hair and it looked like a relaxer. When I went to work that following Monday, my coworkers said "oh you just couldn't do it"?
