Barbar ECO-8000 Professional 1000 Watt Blow Dryer

Barbar ECO-8000 Professional 1000 Watt Blow DryerI think this dryer is professional and really packs a punch. I love it. The design is very cool and futuristic. But most importantly, it works well!

Just by calling the dryer eco-friendly isn't convincing to me. It uses 1000 W. I use my 1500 W dryer at a lower heat setting, thereby using less than 1500 W, probably close to 1000 W. Unless this dryer is so effective that it is able to dry my hair in less time, it is using exactly the same amount of electricity as my inexpensive blow dryer (that I already own), when used at the lower heat setting.

CHI Air Smart Platinum Shine Styling Stick, Fire Red, 1 Inch

CHI Air Smart Platinum Shine Styling Stick, Fire Red, 1 InchSo glad I took a chance and got this one Love it! Works great on my hair and warms up quickly, had a Wingo before and have seen a great difference in my hair after using this Chi.

I immediately sent this item back once I had it open. It was cheaply put together with cheap materials and didn't quite match up to the real CHI version. I don't recommend buying this on amazon.

I have used a 1" Chi Turbo for years and after a long and full life, my beloved flat iron finally died last week. I bought this item as a replacement, knowing full well that I was essentially downgrading from a salon-quality Chi to a Chi Home product. But I have been nothing less than thrilled with this flat iron. It heats up faster than the Turbo, retains heat longer, and its sleek design allows for much smoother straightening, especially along my hairline. I have used this product several times since purchasing it and have noticed that it shaves minutes off of my morning routine. It now takes about 10 minutes less than it did with my old, bulky Turbo, to flat iron my whole head. Needless to say, I'm one happy customer!!

I love the Chi but I dont like the design too much. The temperature buttons are right where I put my hands and sometimes it ends up turning up or down.

Farouk CHI Turbo Regular Ceramic Flat Iron Hair Straightener

CHI Turbo Microchip Ceramic Hairstyling Iron 1'I was suspect of the need for "ceramic ions" and "far infrared technology", but this iron was highly recommended by salon personnel, so I decided to dish out the money and try it. You don't need to believe the hype to realize that this is a top quality product. This was a case of "you get what you pay for"! It is lightweight and ergonomic, heats up almost immediately, has a slider bar for varying heat from 176-356F (80-180C), and velvety felt that protects you from burns (also allows me to get closer to my ears and scalp without getting burned). The latter feature is worth the money to me alone, and the the ceramic feels much gentler to my hair (I have baby fine hair very prone to breakage). Two other things to keep in mind when choosing a straightener:

1) size matters smaller size is better it's more maneuverable, and doing smaller sections at a time will produce better results. for superfine hair, I recommend the 0.7" (mistakenly advertised as 0.07")

2) not all ceramic is created equal there are solid ceramic plates or plates COATED with ceramic that are cheaper. the ceramic layer on the coated plates can peel off and is supposedly damaging to your hair (not to mention your product is ruined).

so yes, this iron is more expensive, but hopefully it will last for years of top-notch straightening.

After reading numerous online raves about the CHI Flat Iron I ordered a CHI Turbo Flat Iron. I have no complaints with the product as of yet, I've only had it a few days.

***BUT*** the few complaints I read online dealt with customer service from Farouk the manufacturer of CHI products and warranty problems. Before buying the product, I went to the Farouk website and noted that they had a 1-year warranty, no problem so I thought. I went back to the site today with a nagging thought, why would people who had spent so much money on a hair iron have problems with customer service? Upon reading the fine print I found out. The following was copied and pasted from the Farouk website:

ATTENTION INTERNET SHOPPERS: Any product manufactured by Farouk Systems, Inc. will lose its warranty if purchased from an internet distributor of any sort. Farouk Systems can not guarantee the quality of the products that are sold over the internet. Besides that, It is against company policy for internet distributors to sell our products. Any CHI appliance or Top Blade products are only under warranty if purchased from a Professional Salon.

BOTTOM LINE: If this product is ordered online by comparison shopping you can potentially save a lot of money but you will NOT have a manufacturer's warranty. The manufacturer's warranty is only valid if you buy through a professional salon.

My hair is an absolute mess when It hasn't been ironed. An absolute, curly, frizzy, tangly, mess. I have used many irons in the past including the original Chi (which I love(d)) but NOTHING is comparable to this product.

I have gone through so many flat ironed. From steel plated ones, to cheap ceramic ones (that worked, but not like this), to the original Chi. The original Chi was the only flat iron that I've ever used that has gotten my hair straight. I have hair just past my shoulders so the ends are the first to flip when humidity hits. And they never actually get 'straight' with other irons (minus the original Chi).

I bought my Chi Turbo from Ulta at a price of $169.95 plus tax. I got it home, showered, and plugged it in.

What I like:

~It heats up in less then fifteen seconds.

~The variable heat control even though I always have it on high.

~The cute little LED light that flickers when I know my iron is good to go.

~The feel of this product in my hand.

~The felt on ends.

~And the heavy duty plug in with surge protection.

What I don't like:

~What is there not to like about this product?!

The original Chi is great if you have straight hair that needs to be straighter or slightly curly hair that you want board straight. But the Turbo is the one you want if your hair is an absolute labryinth like mine after it dries from a recent shower.

I noticed it heats up faster than the original Chi, it irons quicker than the original Chi, and darn it..It just looks cooler.

What used to take me thirty minutes with the original Chi now takes me fifteen minutes.

I put my hair up into about five different layers. The first layer being the bottom. After I finish a layer I tie it back with a hair tie and get another section ready. When this one section is straight I add it to the other section of straight hair and so on and so forth.

This product is my prized possession. My hair comes out as straight as imaginably possible. It's sleek, It's shiny. I can run my fingers through it. It doesn't instantly go back to my natural curl when I hit humidity. It really only goes back to normal when your hair gets wet.

Please, please, please...If you have crazy hair and need it managable and straight buy this product. It is worth every single penny.

Kodee.

The chi is an amazing straightener. I live in humid Florida, and this straightener gets my curly hair pin straight and it stays straight until I wash it. Unfortunatly, my first one just stopped working and farouk refused to take it back because "Amazon in not an authorized dealer so your warranty is void". Luckily, Amazon replaced my straighter at no charge and I didn't even have to pay for shipping. This is a great straightener and its worth its weight in gold (when it works), but at $120 dollars you are taking an expensive risk.

First off, both my wife and daughter LOVE this product. However, after about 1 month of use, it broke. I called the manufacturer and they responded to me that Farouk products are NOT sold over the internet, ONLY through "CERTIFIED" salons. Therefore, because I purchased this from Amazon, they could not, and would not, honor the warranty. It really sounds like a scam to me, and as such, I will probably NEVER buy another Farouk product ever. However, the woman I spoke with at Amazon (who was unaware of Farouk's policy) was extremely helpful and shipped me a new product out immediately (and I received it in 3 days).

My conclusion is, if you can deal with the warranty issues, this is probably the best hair straightener you can get. HUGE Kudos to Amazon, and two thumbs down for Farouk. They came off as pompous, even insinuating that they were unaware that Amazon carried their products (as if Amazon was some nickel and dime outfit). Shame on them!

Anyhow, I hope this was useful!

Redken 06 Sheer Straight Lightweight Straightening Gel Hair Styling Creams

Redken Sheer Straight, Lightweight Straightening Gel, Fine Hair, 3.4-ounceI am on my third tube of Sheer Straight now, and I love it. It's really light; it doesn't weigh my fine hair down at all. Of course, this is not a miracle product ( I didn't expect it to be)...it's not going to perfectly straighten your hair unless you use a flat iron. It does seem to relax some of the waves when you're blow drying though, and give you a smoother platform for flat ironing. It has a nice clean smell, and makes your hair feel really soft. I like to mix this product in my hand with Redken's Iron Repair before blowdrying. This stuff will not leave your hair feeling stiff or sticky if you use it before blowdrying, so if you like hair to have a nice touchable feeling, this product is for you.

I received a free full-size tube of this from the company and after trying it several times for my fine, wavy, normal/dry hair, I finally gave up. It made my hair very stiff (even if I used a small portion) and actually made my hair MORE difficult to straighten. This made it thick and stiff and actually, not straight. My end-result was lightly wavy, frizzy, and weighed down hair. I wouldn't recommend this product. Try Got2b Smooth Operator, Smoothing Lustre Lotion instead. It's lighter, smells better, works great as a straightening cream, and is much more affordable.

Just recently purchased a second tube of this amazing stuff and that says a lot since I never rebuy any of my hair products. Give me sleek, staight hair. I do have to go over it with a hot iron, but I really notice a difference when I'm using it!

Enzo Milano Gio Pro Flat Iron, 1-Inch

Enzo Milano Gio Pro Flat Iron, 1-InchI was a little reluctant to purchase at first when I read some reviews stating that the product ceased to work after only a few uses. However, I have been using mine almost every day for over a month and every single time I am glad I made this purchase. It leaves my hair softer, silkier, and beautifully straight. I never have to go over a strip of hair more than once. I can straighten with damp or dry hair and get the same result. The maximum heat of 450F is really effective for me because I have thick, curly hair. The adjustable heat option is great because I can use lower temperatures if I just want to touch up.

Of course, I use heat protection for my hair and a light hair gloss to achieve a healthy looking shine. I flat iron reasonably thin, 2"-3" wide strips of hair to maximize contact with the plates. I believe part of maximizing results is proper use of the product.

I would definitely recommend this flat iron. It's the best I've ever used.

I purchased the Enzo Milano Gio 1" Flat iron, as my FHI iron was getting a little tired and wasn't getting the job done. I absolutely love this iron, it gets the job done on the first try, you don't need to go over your hair twice to get great results. Its heats up pretty quickly (although the FHI was quicker), but apart from that is perfect. Your hair doesn't get caught in the panels and I feel that my hair's smoother and shinier. Highly recommend it. I also own the Enzo curling rod and love it. These products are all very high quality. I got the best price on Amazon.

In addition to the cord becoming consistently tangled, this flat iron (which I did not use everyday) already 'died'.

I purchased it in July of 2010 and it no longer turns on.

I purchased an Enzo Milano flat iron through Amazon and after using this product for about 4 days it was no longer working. I couldn't believe this was happening for I was very skeptical on buying this product online, but after using this flat iron for 4 days I could feel the difference in the texture of my hair, it feels a lot healthier compared to others I have used. Well, I called Amazon's customer service and told them my situation and they were very accommodating to my needs and knew I was very upset that after 4 days the flat iron wasn't working. They shipped a new flat iron to me within 2 days. Overall, I am very satisfied with the way Amazon handled my situation and will always use them when ordering online.

Last year I purchased an Enzo MIlano curling iron. After it arrived I plugged it in and waited...and waited...and waited. While the light came on it did not heat up, ever! I contacted Enzo Milano CS and was told to ship it back to them in CA and they would check it out and get in touch with me. I sent it priority mail and it arrived in CA about four days later. Around four WEEKS later, I finally heard from them via e-mail and was told to call with my CC# to cover the return shipping fee, along with "warranty fees and handling charges" totaling $60! I would now have the original purchase price of $130, plus my shipping fee of $10, plus their fees of $60, totaling $200 for a curling iron that has not created one single curl, but loads of hassle and wasted $$$. I just couldn't justify spending almost half of the original purchase price just to get the new iron shipped back to me in NC! I told them to keep it. Terrible terrible experience and AWFUL customer service, DO NOT PURCHASE!
