It curls but doesn't get very hot. Also the cover showed a black and yellow iron. when you open it, its grey. looks like an old lady curling iron.

I'm pretty disappointed in this hair staightener because I was expecting a lot more. Luckily I purchased it through a discount website so I only paid $25 for it. I'd be very mad if I had actually paid full price.The ceramic plate (actually tourmaline) on this product is TINY!! And my hair keeps getting caught in the plastic around the plate. It's designed very poorly and CHEAPLY. I straightened my hair at 400F degrees (supposedly) this morning and it's till wavey after losing several strands from getting them caught in the stupid plastic grooves. My other $20 Conair straightener is not the most well-made straightener but it actually WORKS and straightens my hair. I guess if you set the temperature at its max (450F degrees) and if you're very careful to not get your hair caught around the hteated ceramic, you might be able to use it..

Well, I might have given this iron 5 stars, but the "multi-floral" refers only to the box (does the box design matter?). And, there is no temperature control-just an on and off switch. However, having tried several different brands and not wanting to pay a fortune, this has become my go-to favorite. It leaves hair with a shine, is light weight and easy to use. It gets quite hot (both good and bad), so it does the job quickly. Sometimes I fear it may be too hot, but, if you are careful, follow directions and do not abuse, one pass will do and it doesn't snag your hair. I have fine, curly and chemically-treated hair

After using Coppola Hair Keratin, which is great, for 2 years, I decided to ave some money & buy this. Big mistake. After applying this product my hair was fine, at first. About a month later it felt like straw & started breaking off. I had to cut my shoulder length hair into a bob. It was a cute hair cut but I wasn't planning on it. Not to mention I had been growing my hair out for 3 years. My hair did not like this product at all! I'm back with Coppola. I cannot recommend it.

My hair is determined to do as it pleases, not as I wish, and this straightening iron has saved me from becoming one of those ladies who go to the hairdresser every week. The fact that it is 2 inches wide means it takes way less time and is more effective than narrower models. I'm 90% satisfied with this flat iron. They've discontinued them in the stores, so I was glad to find one online! The wider ceramic size works 10 times better for me, as compare the the smaller sizes they have all over out there, in the stores. Not what I was expecting. It is very "miniature"...there is almost not a purpose for this item. There is no room to comfortably place your hand while it is HOT...I assumed it was a small "curl" but it's only about 6 inches long and 4 inches is HOT IRON...and the curl is so small its almost useless. I was hoping it would be more "standard size". My fault...but the product is not accurately described.*sigh* I will have to give it to my 2 yr old to play dress up, Unplugged of course.

With "MiniPro" in the name, why are the previous reviewers surprised by it's size? It's very small and compact, but that's the POINT. Exactly what I was looking for and I love it. Really great for traveling and comes with a case. The straightener is just as good as any larger size I've found. The curling is great for the ends of your hair, but if you have really long hair and want ringlets/waves all the way through, this is not the tool for you. CHI Deep Brilliance Titanium 1" Flat Iron
I purchased a Farouk Deep Brilliance Ceramic flat iron from Amazon a few years ago and was absolutely blown away by the quality of the flat iron. My Farouk Deep Brilliance is still working perfectly but recently I felt that I needed a backup iron in case something happened to mine (I've dropped it a few times). I was thrilled when Farouk introduced the Chi Deep Brilliance Titanium iron at such a great price and I purchased it right away. I was concerned about the titanium plates (I've only used ceramic plates) but I actually contacted Farouk directly before I purchased the iron and they told me that this iron was the new and improved Farouk Deep Brilliance. The Deep Brilliance is a Farouk line made especially for ethnic hair (I'm African American).Let's start with the pros:
1. This Chi Deep Brilliance heats up pretty quickly...in just under two minutes. I'm usually rushing in the morning and haven't found myself waiting around for this iron to get hot.
2. The digital display is a nice addition. You can clearly see when the iron is at your desired temperature and you can choose how hot you want the iron to get.
3. It has a swivel cord that allows you to flat iron your hair with ease.
4. It has an automatic shut off which is extremely helpful...I know that I've accidentally left my other iron on all day.
Now the cons:
1. My hair smells more burned than it did after flat ironing it with the ceramic plates. I don't know if that means that the temperature setting is too high but I don't love having my hair smell burned.
2. The design of the casing around the titanium plates is very square. I don't know if this is something that I'll get used to in time but it does affect the way my hair curls. My Farouk Deep Brilliance had sleek rounded edges and this iron is decidedly bulkier and squared. It gives more a bump closer to my root which is good for volume I suppose but my hair wasn't as sleek and straight as it was with my other iron.
3. My style doesn't seem to be lasting throughout the day. My hair looked pretty good this morning right after I'd flat ironed it but after a few hours my ends look frizzy and that has never happened to me before. When I take the time to flat iron my hair in the morning it normally holds up all day...even in the humidity.
All in all I would say that it's a pretty decent iron...I don't know that it's better than a regular Chi. The color is nice but the design is definitely flawed...I'm actually a little bit disappointed.

I am a single dad. My 13 year old asked for a flat iron. After some research and asking some friends and professional hair stylist, I decided on this item. I was very pleased. My daughter loves it.
