Also it is titanium plates, you want ceramic or tourmaline plate for less damage, smoother look with shine and really straight hair. This worked as well as my walmart $20 flat iron. I would invest in a tourmaline flat iron with adjustable heat settings.

I just bought this off Groupon and it heats up quickly. It also glides smoothly through my hair. The only reason I didn't give more stars is that the outside gets VERY hot, to the point it was painful to hold even a couple inches away from the plates. I missed the window to return the flat iron so I will keep it and either get an appliance glove or figure out some way to insulate the outside so I can use it comfortably.

I do like this straightener that I recently bought off Groupon. My only complaint is that you can't adjust the temperature. It is perfectly hot when you start but seems to get cooler as you continue to straighten. I just stop and let it heat up again.
