InfraShine Ceramic Flat Iron

I have used many different flat irons from Hot Tools to CHI. None of them lasted over a yearthey just stopped heating up. I purchased this infrashine flat iron about 5 years ago and its still going strong! My mom had the same one and hers just started going outIt still heats up, but it loses a lot of heat during use and therefore must keep reheating to the appropriate temp.

A friend of mine just purchased a brand new Infrashine and the only difference I can tell between her new one and my old one is that mine has lost some of its surface smoothness.. I think the ceramic may have worn down after 5 years of DAILY use! haha

I am going to purchase a new one because I liked the smooth feeling, but my old one still works great. My friends who use it say its a million times better than their brand new cheapo flat irons.

The infrashine lasts a long time, it gets super hot, it doesn't seem to be extremely damaging to my hair (all flat irons do to some extent, right!), it heats up super quick, and it takes me about 7 minutes total to flat iron my long really frizzy hair! i love it.

We have three flat irons in our house, one bought from a stylist years ago (good), one bought from Amazon but not as expensive as this one (not so good and HEAVY) and this one. OMG! I use my daughter's (this one) and my hair is FLAT AND SHINY in I kid you not five minutes. I have a lot of very course, curly hair. I use mine, and it's straighter and my arm is tired but it takes 15 minutes. Buy this flat iron. It's worth the extra dollars. It really, truly is! I am NOT a foo-foo girl but this thing rocks.

Personal experience: I purchased this flat iron in December 2006 after visiting a friend who had the same one. After using hers, and seeing how amazingly straight and shiny my hair was (and stayed for several days after, even after sleeping!), I had to have one! At the time I was living in Europe (for school) so I had to use a converter/transformer so the American plug would work and convert the voltage to European outlets. I returned to the US in late 2007, with my Ceramic Infrashine. This flat iron worked flawlessly for me until one day when it just didn't turn on (summer 2010). Between the frequent usage and electric conversion (which can sometimes shorten the lifespan on any electronics) I really feel that it lasted for quite a long time, especially compared to other flat irons I've used! I wanted to cry when it didn't turn on. There are no other flat irons out there like it. In desperation, I purchased another flat iron that day at the mall. It's called a Royale. I thought it would be a good one after researching it and watching the videos. That was about $140.00. The Royale was terrible and didn't come close to performing. I've tried a few others since including Chi, because the Ceramic Infrashine isn't the easiest to find... Needless to say, I just ordered a new one and can't wait to have a quality hair straighter back! It may be my hair type, but I have found that flat irons twice the price don't even compare to this one. For me, it's about the results, not having the most expensive flat iron out there. This is one I would highly, highly recommend to anyone. I can't wait until I have another one!

I should add that I have lived in Florida since late 2007 and this is the only flat iron that can not only provide a flawless straighten to my frizzy hair, but also hold up in very high humidity, which says a lot! If you've ever experienced the Florida humidity, you'll understand!

About the product: lightweight and skinny, doesn't take up much space for travel. Heats up quickly and can get very hot, as desiredthe level of heat is adjustable. The chord is 6 feet long, which is really convenient! Smooth casing is comfortable to hold while using. I've also found that I can straighten my hair much quicker with this flat iron compared to others. You only have to go over the hair once or twice. With other flat irons, I've had to go over it several times. Leaves hair smooth, straight, and shiny for a much longer period of time than other flat irons. This flat iron does not cause hair to break off or damage the ends like other flat irons do.

Basically, I have tried a lot of those high end brands out there from the CHI to the sedu... to just about everything. And for years I've been searching for a flat iron that'd actually live up to its claims. And this straightener is it. You know how other flat irons claim to be 100% ceramic? Well, they're only ceramic coated. This baby is 100% entirely ceramic so it really does feel smooth and I couldn't stop touching my hair all day. The only thing I would have to say that sucks is it looks a little smaller than an inch. All my other one inch flat irons seem a bit wider, but maybe that's just me.
