I recently purchased this styler, and could not be happier. I debated between Croc and Sedu for quite a while, finally deciding on the Croc due to the fact that it is reviewed as the better "styler" as opposed to simply straightener. I am so relieved that I did! This straightens and flattens my hair, leaving it soft and shiny, but even more exciting are the amazing curls it produces. I purchased the Croc 2 flat iron after my stylist used it on my hair. I am a black woman with natural hair (I no longer have a relaxer). I have been "natural" for 9 months and used a regular flat iron after my hair was cut for the first 6 months. When I went to a new stylist that a friend recommended, she used the Croc 2 flat iron on my hair. I was totally blown away by the way this flat iron straightened my hair! It worked so well, I actually looked as though I still had a relaxer. My hair is thick and the Croc 2 left it shiny and soft. My husband had a graduation celebration for me shortly after I began using the Croc 2 flat iron and I was able to see friends that had not seen me in months and who had not known I'd cut my hair (it had always been very long), and gone natural. They were astonished when I told them it was the flat iron I used that made my hair continue to have the straight, relaxed look. I ordered a Croc 2 flat iron for my own use about a month after my stylist used it on me the first time. I use it on my hair and on my daughter's hair, which is also long, thick, and natural (she has never had a relaxer). Everyone is impressed with the results. The flat iron is lightweight and heats up in a matter of seconds. I would strongly recommend that anyone using this flat iron try it at lower temperatures and gradually increase rather than using it at the full 450 degrees to avoid burning or damaging their hair. Although this is a wet to dry flat iron, I have not used it on wet or even damp hair because I think that using heat on wet hair causes damage. However, the plates on the iron get significantly hot, so I imagine that they would effectively straighten hair that is damp. I use the iron for straightening and curling, and I couldn't be more pleased. Do not think the wet to dry works as well as the Regular Croc 2 1 inch...doesn't seem to straighten the hair as well as the original...I'm a cosmetologist and use the flat iron daily...I had the original and had no issues with it until recently when the spring came out of it...I used it many times in the year and a half I had it though and would recommend the original anytime...but not the wet to dry...Save 29% Off
