FLAT iron and HAIR dryer HOLDER in POLISHED chrome

I swear on everything holy, this purchase has single-handedly turned my marriage around. No longer do I return home from a long day at work only to go to the bathroom having a deep rooted desire to punch all hair-related electronics in the face. This thing is awesome for keeping that stuff out of the way. Looks a little cheesy, but really, who cares, what it does is far better than the way it looks.

This holder broke after less than six months. There was no miss use, as I am an adult woman with no children in the house. The failure point was the two tiny spot welds that hold the entire weight of the dryer and iron. Over time, the weight caused the holdler to sag down further and further until yesterday when I found the dryer, iron and holder on the floor. They had used only two tiny spot welds to hold the holder to a bolt. That bolt then mounts to the wall plate. The wall plate and bolt remained on the wall. Very poor engineering went into this product. Looks nice, but unless you want to buy every six months don't waste your money.

I had been looking for something to hang my hairdryer and my wife's flat iron on the wall to get them off of the counter. I had been looking at individual holders but wanted to try this to save on space. It has a single mounting point to the base that moves every time I put the hair dryer back in it. The screws that come with it I don't think are long enough to go through dry wall and mount it securely to a stud. As long as I am gentle when putting the hair dryer in it and don't slam it I am hopeful it will last a little while. If and when I need a new one I will more than likely go back to plan A and purchase 2 separate holders.

It holds the blow dryer good, and I would say no more then 3 other items. I have it holding my flat iron and curling iron. Make note this only hangs (attaches) on the wall, not on the counter. My husband installed it fairly quickly. Make note, all the cords will hang down, which I was fine with. Finally, all these hair appliances are out of my way and I'm not wrapping and un-wrapping the cords.

I got this product on time and I was excited to get it just in time for Valentines day. I was going to surprise my girlfriend by mounting it to the wall in her bathroom before she got home from work. When I opened the package I noticed that the mounting base was very thin where it meets the flat bar.The little sheet rock inserts that came with the product were completely useless, cheap and flimsy so luckily I had some more robust screw-in style sheet rock inserts I had bought at Lowes and I used those instead. When I finally got it mounted I put the hair dryer and the flat Iron on the product as shown in the picture. The flat bar started to bend down then broke off the the base and fell to the floor! After closer inspection I noticed that the flat bar that you put your hair dryer and flat iron in is mounted to the base with two tiny little beads of weld or solder! I make my living in metal fabrication so believe me when I say, "the construction of this product was completely insufficient and it was bound to fail".

This product is a piece of junk as constructed and should be taken off the market or improved to be able to withstand the weight of the things you put on it.

Now, I know that I may get a response from the distributor and they'll probably say something like "you should have returned it to get a full refund instead of writing this bad review" but, I'm sorry, that was not an option. I needed to do something fast because of Valentines Day so I ground the solder beads off the flat bar, drilled two holes in the bar (not easy) and mounted it directly to the wall. I just threw away the base that broke off. My girl friend got this part of her Valentines gift and all was well. I just had to Macgyver things a bit to make it work out. Also returning it would have cost me more money so that was not going to happen either. Sorry for such a long review but I felt like I needed to explain why you should stay away from this product...unless, of course, your Macgyver.

I have seen so many five star reviews about this product that it leads me to beleave that those people are possibly recieving a different product or maybe getting the same product that has a better weld than mine had. Don't know that for sure. All I know is the product I recieved was a flimzy piece of crap.
