Revlon 1 in. Titanium Smooth Stay Straightener - Blue

When my beloved Conair flat iron went kaput I journeyed to Target to pick up a new one. I was drawn to this one by Revlon because of the titanium plates and the cute blue color of the straightener. However, when I actually used the thing I was extremely disappointed. I have thick, short hair and it took me 30-45 minutes to straighten my hair with this straightener compared to the 15 or so it took with my Conair! The plates don't stay hot and I have to run my hair through four or five times to actually get it straight-looking enough. Even then, my hair starts "waving up" a few hours later. I will be purchasing another straightener (that is not made by Revlon or does not have titanium plates!) as soon as possible.

Holy cowthis straightener has been the bane of my hair styling for the last 6 months! I had a hair straightener that kept pulling out my hair and so I asked for a new one for Christmas. I got this one from my sister and reading the box I was super excited to have a good straightener. I have very long, very thick naturally wavy brown hair. This straightener takes FOREVER to get my hair straight! I keep the temp at the highest level possible and at times it is perfectly hot to work with my hair and then two seconds laterit barely has any heat. It has been doing that since I opened it. I pretty much hate it but it may work good for people with different style hair but I don't think there are many people who have thin, straight hair who need a hair straightener... Over all, super disappointed but if I have the hour it takes to get my hair straightit works ok.

This is my first flat iron I'm not really familiar with flat iron. I started at the recomende temp but had to crank it all the way up to really have an effect. I might return it actually and get something at TJ Max. I feel like I can't clamp onto the hair I'm trying to straighten. Maybe that's how it's supposed to be? The tip does get hot so be careful. I was able to test it out with out burning my fingers. I'm awkward and would always burn myself with curling irons! I almost go the Remington since it had good reviews, but thought this one would be better. I want to test out the Remington and see.

I got this straightener because I knew I could trust Revlon and at the store I bought it from it was about $30. It works well to straighten and to curl but the tip gets way too hot. You can turn the temp down but with my kind of hair the lower the temp the less it works. The color is nice and I think the price is very reasonable because it does the job it's supposed to. I gave it three because after it's on for about 3 minutes the tip gets dangerously hot and I have a harder time maneuvering it.
