Helen of Troy 1578 Spring Curling Iron, White, 7/8 Inch Barrel

The curling iron quit working properly (will not open or close properly) after less than 3 weeks of once daily use. I contacted Diamond Beauty Supply, who never replied. I then contacted Amazon and finally received a reply from Diamond Beauty that I would have to contact Helen of Troy directly. I then called Helen of Troy in California and was given a different "customer service" number to contact but that number is disconnected. So I have a useless curling iron and have been trying to actually speak to someone about it for the last 2 weeks. I guess you just live and learn and end up losing money on inferior products. Since I really need a 7/8" curling iron for the length of my hair, I am stuck because this iron is about the only one available in this particular size.

This is the worst curling iron I have ever owned. I have had it just over a month. It does not get as hot as my other curling irons. The plastic tip on the barrel is smaller than any of my others and makes it difficult to hold without touching the hot barrel. The swivel cord does not swivel properly and after about four curls the cord is a tangled mess. The spring is weak and squeaks each time it is used. I would send it back, but the shipping is about equal to what I paid for it. I ordered this because I wanted a 7/8" size and I could not find one locally. Don't purchase this one, it is terrible.

This is my second Helen of Troy curling iron. It heats up good and is performing as advertised. I am very satisfied. The curling iron lasted as long as any other I have purchased. I would buy another one and would recommend it.
