I bought this to save space in my luggage. After trying it out at home first, I have decided to return it. The plate is small in both width and length, so it took forever to run the flat iron through all my hair (and my hair is chin-length and fairly straight already). I was just aiming to flip the ends a bit, but it took many swipes to get even one section of hair to cooperate.

The plates didn't do a good job of gripping the hair, which I found a bit irritating. And it wasn't very comfortable to use--my hand tired more easily than with a standard-size iron.

I gave it a 2-star because it worked OK to refresh an existing style. It just did a poor job of doing a whole head of hair from scratch. For the slight extra weight, I think I'll just take my standard-size iron when I travel.
