If you have a lot of really thick hair this iron is not for you. It doesn't heat up as hot as a ceramic iron would. It does leave your nice and full though.

This is my second Wigo jade iron. I have extremely thick and coarse hair and it has been about halfway down my back for the last five years. I bought the two inch iron to straighten my hair and it is the only one I have ever owned that does so very quickly and leaves my hair shiny and soft. I have owned a number of different high end irons, including the Chi, and none were so easy to use on my hair. I recently cut my hair short and purchased this size to use. It is wonderful! I will advise that if you have long hair, you get the larger of the sizes because it is easier and faster, but this one is perfect for shoulder length or shorter hair, even if it is very thick and coarse.

I purchased this because a friend had raved to me about how great it was, but I'm not that impressed. Honestly, I notice little difference from my cheapy ceramic flat iron I got for 15 bucks.. I would go for the chi if you want a good one-shrugs-

I had used this hair straightener for years when it broke, so I had to buy a new one. The jade (rahter than ceramic) won't dry out or damage your hair.

It doesn't get insanely hot like other straighteners where it will make your hair hot to the touch. Because of this I was never as worried of it burning down the house if I forgot it on.

My hair is thick and somewhat difficult to straighten, and although it doesn't make my hair nearly as straight as the Chi does, it also doesn't kill it.

I love it and would recommend it to people who don't want to damage their hair with a straightener. It works better on thinner hair.

This is the best flat iron I have ever used. My hair is chemically relaxed. When I use this flat iron, my hair does not feel hot. The jade on this iron retains heat and curls or straightens hair, but it does not transfer the heat to the hair. After use, my hair feels soft and silky, and it looks great. I always get compliments after using this flat iron. And best of all, it hasn't damaged my hair. I am in love with Wigo Jade!!!

UPDATE: February 7, 2013: I am still using this flat iron and still loving it! A few times I switched out and started using a curling iron and a sedu flat iron, but my hair got damaged, so I came back to the wigo jade. I love this iron so much that I now have one in all sizes. I still highly recommend it.
