Hot Tools Ceramic Titanium Flat Iron 1.5"

I've seriously had this same flatiron for 15 YEARS. I think that might be a record for any product I've owned, ever. It's reliable, heats quick and gets the job done every time. I'm only looking for a new one now because I sadly left it at a hotel and the return shipping is the same cost as a new one. I picked up somethings that you would only know if you used it every day like me:

The plates are ceramic coating, and some of that does wear off with time. After 15 years the coating definitely had worn off on the edges, but it doesn't really affect much except it looks ugly. I didn't notice it burning my hair or anything. In fact, I always get compliments on my hair. I straighten everyday because my long hair is thick and wavy and this keeps layers manageable. After I straighten, my hair is light and silky and keeps the heat of having super thick hair off my neck.

The lock hinge can get in the way during straightening. It's great to be able to lock it for storage, but when you clamp down, the handle can hit the hinge and prevent closure, which is annoying. But I just tied my hinge back for an easy fix.

The iron is curved, meaning there is no plastic frame around its sides. I could never set it on the counter without burning the countertop. I used to hook it into wall towel fixture while it was on to prevent countertop burning. In the later years I bought a no-burn flat iron pad which worked great too.

... That's it! Like all products, it has its kinks but I could not believe how well this flat iron worked. It obviously has a very professional grade quality and I would recommend it to anyone!

I really loved the results of this particular iron, but my hair kept getting caught in one of the grooves. It didn't pull out a lot of hair at a time, but enough every time that it was irritating. I returned. They need to tweak the design a little bit. Really, if it wasn't for this one thing, I would give these tool 5 stars.

I've been through a number of flat irons for my thin, fine hair and have either fumbled around with them (like a smaller one that had the power button right where you need to hold it!) or paid big bucks only to have it fry the heck out of my hair. My hair dresser has had this one for years and I assumed she paid a lot of money for it. Nope! It's by far the best flat iron I've ever owned. No more shopping for the perfect one. Found it!!!
