I originally bought my wife a Farouk (expensive) ceramic flat iron for her thick Jamaican (not relaxed) hair. We had to return it because it didn't get hot enough to do anything. This one goes up to 400 degrees and works beautifully.

She used it yesterday and received numerous compliments at our meeting last night. It looked like she had just come from the salon. She loved the way her hair looked and felt.

This product was a third of the cost of the Farouk, which made me very happy as well!

the only thing that is good about this item .... is that it makes your hair dry, NOT STRAIGHT!!! my natural hair is curly and kind of puffy (well i think it is puffy my friends dont). So when i use this "straightner" it just dry's my hair for me and then i have to use my regular straightner.

I recently purchased this Ceramic Flat Iron and it is very poorly designed. After plugging it in, you have to reach inside the handle to engage the ON button...an unsafe location to say the least. Next, you have to push five outer buttons to set the heat element to the highest level. And finally, when closed, the ceramic plates are not flush, so they do not close completely to straighten one's hair. It is also very heavy and cumbersome to use.

This was a gift for my daughter, but it quit during the middle of the first use. Now it doesn't heat up at all. The on/off switch is in a very unusual position making it hard to reach if it were to be hot. I also found it difficult to contact the company about this product. I'm VERY disappointed.

I have long and curly hair.and when i brush it ..it's becomes a gigantic puff.lol.this straightener was very easy to use and left my hair niiice and straight and shiny!since it's like 2inches wide straightening my hair was pretty fast.I have very long hair.you can pick what temperature you want.it goes from 200-400.So far I love it.sometimes it's a little hard to hold it up because I end up pressing the button to change the temp on accident.besides that,its awesome.And I love that it;s very small.it isn't all bulky.it's not very heavy either.it heats up pretty fast.I'm not an instructions reader...so it took me a while to figure out you had to press the wee button to pick what temp you want it to be.not much else to say.i lurve it.
