Joico K-pak Smoothing Balm

I have been looking for a really good smoother that will help my fine hair resist humidity for awhile. I saw this in my local CVS and thought why not try it, as I have been a fan of the K Pak line in general. After getting this home and applying a small amount to my hair, I could feel the magic from the first application. My slightly frizzy hair immediately felt soft, silky, and it looked beautiful with renewed life and shine. I almost felt as if I'd been given new hair in a matter of minutes! I recommend using a pea sized amount for the first try, as a little goes a very long way. An added benefit is that this protects from heat styling and after blow drying, I hardly recognized my hair! I have also not experienced any weigh down whatsoever with this, as some like products can cause a crunchy look and feel and flatness. I am so thrilled with this that I may actually be able to get away with using just this and forgo my usual straightening iron and Phyto Index 1 relaxer. Love this stuff and I highly recommend it for just about any hair type.

Not only did it make my hair straight and silky smooth, but completely frizz proof. Bottom line: this product worked. I absolutely recommend it.

I've been using this Joico K-Pak for a while but doesn't seem to work well. Over the years, I've tried many smoothers/heat protectans but this one is not as good as others I've tried and it's more expensive. I love the Joico moisture shampoo and conditioner, but I bought this K-Pak and K-Pak deep conditioner, and I'm not satisfied with K-Pak products. I will continue using other Joico products but not K-Pak. Being the most expensive in their line they're not necessarily the best.

Distribute it evenly and a little goes a long way! Makes hair so healthy!!

The only caution and why I gave 4 stars is that if you use way too much and apply too close to your roots, your hair can end up feeling like

there's something on it, so just use more sparingly and it rocks!

I really didn't notice much of a difference when I used this product. It was as if I didn't use anything, but maybe it has to do with the texture of my hair. I have relaxed african-american hair.
