Pura D'or Pure & Organic Argan Oil (4 fl. oz.)

Pura D'or Pure & Organic Argan OilI've been growing my hair out for the past year. It's been difficult for me as woman who previously tinted & bleached the life out of her hair. My hair is far from healthy because of all of the damage I put in through, not to mention my natural color is a mousey brown that's less than appealing.

I've tried an array of different products to give it back some shine and strengthand this is by far the best one I've ever used! It heeded better results for me than any of the leading products (oils, cremes, leave ins, treatments, spells, whatever... You name itI've tried it). I've literally spent hundreds of dollars testing products & brands. I can't believe this miracle product was only $26! That's a fraction of what I've spent on others.

Likes:

*That it's 100% pure Argan Oil! I'd tried so many other Argan products only to be frustrated with poor results because of the fillers used.

*I've also read some reviews complaining about the spray nozzlepersonally, I love it. It makes application to your hair especially easy. I recommend spritzing the ends of your hair (gather it all in one hand if you can) and then rub it up toward your scalp. A little goes a long way, so don't over do it!

*It tamed fly aways, gave extra oompf to my hair color, and I'm convinced it's helped strengthen my hair. I've had a lot less breakage and shower hair loss since using Pura D'or Pure & Organic Argan Oil.

*It smells good, absorbs quickly, and doesn't leave a greasy feeling behind.

BONUS: I'm on my feet a lot, and I often wear heels or go barefoot at work which results in me having really dry, cracked feet. My heels are especially bad. I sprayed my feet last night and rubbed it in, slept with some socks onand woke up to incredibly improved skin!

Dislikes: So far... none.

I would recommend this product to anyone with damaged hair or anyone who just needs a shine/color boost. Actually, I recommend this to everyone!

(#1 REVIEWER)Pura D'or Pure Organinc Argan Oil is a thin oil that is absorbed by my skin extremely well. My legs get dry and scaly in the winter. After treating them with this oil after each bath I noticed that they look and feel better. My skin soaks up the oil so well that the hand applying the oil does not feel unpleasantly oily. The bottle has a mist applicator, which worked well. After two pumps, I use my hand to massage the oil into the skin. Once the oil is applied I can see the skin glistening yet it does not feel oily.

My second application of the oil is my hair. I recently began coloring a white streak in my hair, when I applied oil to my scalp and the colored hair it felt softer and more pleasant to touch.

The Argan Oil is unscented. I do not detect any scent sniffing the bottle, or when I spread the oil on my skin. I prefer unscented products, so I was very pleased with this aspect of the Argan Oil as well.

Pura D'or Oil comes in a glass bottle that can become slippery if you get oil on it. To avoid it from falling and breaking I have a piece of paper towel on hand to wipe it after use.

I received an evaluation sample from the manufacture to share my experience with potential buyers. I found the oil to be effective, with long lasting results, and nice to use. I have been using it for a few weeks and I will continue to use it. I recommend it to others.

I have been growing my hair out for the last 2-3 years, which means extra care. Now I have long, wavy hair, and lots of it, which can make it hard to keep it healthy and strong, especially in below-freezing temperatures.

I have tried several brands of argan oil to help me keep the length and ends nourished and fight frizz in high-humidity, and though I am willing to spend a bit for a good product, I found that most of them were not worth the price: the hair was just oily, but didn't really seem nourished. There were no flyaways, but I also had to shampoo more often, which tends to dry out strands so i was reaching the opposite effect from the one I was shooting for. Also, several brands (including the over-hyped, overpriced one with the blue lable, you know the one) have an unpleasant sticky texture and have added fragrance, which I don't like because I have a sensitivity to synthetic fragrance.

When I came across Pura D'or, I was pleased to find a product that was organic, with no fillers or additives, and I was intrigued by the fact that it claimed it could be used on face and body, as well. So I tried it, and I wasn't disappointed.

First, I tried some on my hands. And wow, my hands, dry from the cold, became really soft and stayed that way for days. That gave me the courage to try it on my face. Again, WOW. I have combination skin, so I am leery of oils, but a few drops of Pura D'or on my face 3 times a week seem to have done something to rebalance my skin so it is now more even in texture. I have tried countless products on my face, and I have only had this result with a product from the Perricone MD line, a product that I love but I cannot afford to use on a regular basis. This? I can afford and will keep using it, especially in winter!

As for my hair, which was the original reason I was willing to try this in the first place, after using this product for about a week my hair seems more nourished, and that slightly wavy texture that has been driving me crazy has somehow morphed into those relaxed "beachy waves" I have been trying to get for a while.

I am not a gusher, so I can hardly believe I am posting such a glowing review, but I can really not find anything wrong with the product, which is odd ;-)

It's organic, it's affordable, it's easy to dose and it's multi-use. I think this will become a regular in my toiletry shelf!

This stuff is amazing! Just goes to show you don't have to go out and drop mega bucks at department stores to get a product that works. This stuff works just as well ,if not better than the super expensive Josie Maran argan oil (which happens to cost twice as much). What I like is that it's 100%a pure organic and cold pressed. It feels good to know that I'm not smearing a bunch of potentially harmful chemicals on my skin. It only takes about two pumps to cover my face, neck, and the upper part of my chest. In the morning my skin is glowing. Love Love Love this stuff.

(2008 HOLIDAY TEAM)As a newcomer to argan oil, I was surprised by how versatile it is. You can apply it to any part of your body, from hair to heels. My skin absorbs it quickly, no matter where I put it, and because of this, it doesn't leave an oily sheen, just a silky softness. The only application that I did not like was in my hair -more on that later.

I have extremely delicate and sensitive skin on my face, and I had no negative reactions to the oil, even when I applied it under my eyes. (I did this only after trying it on the rest of my face for a few days.) My hands are staying hydrated between applications, even after I wash my hands a lot during the day and use alcohol-based germ killer. Often in the winter I have to use a thick cream on my hands at night, and by the next night, my hands are crying out for more. If I skip a day of argan, my hands don't seem to mind. The oil is supposed to be good for nail strengthening and cuticle softening. While it softened my cuticles, I can't say what effect, if any, it is having on my nails since they are generally strong.

I researched argan oil online so that I would know one should look for when purchasing it. This brand fits all the criteria: glass bottle, dark container, cold-pressed oil, 100% argan. I also discovered from the research that argan oil is perishable (hence the need for a dark bottle), so if you don't use it up within six months or so, you should buy a new bottle. The Pura D'Or Argan Oil uses a pump to dispense the oil, and that can be a little messy. I also wonder how well it will work when the oil gets near the bottom. The drips down the side of the bottle from using the pump got a half-star deduction from me.

I also did a comparison between argan oil and the much cheaper castor oil, which is often used for the same purposes. Castor oil was much stickier and more difficult to spread. It also was not absorbed as quickly, which meant that the oily sheen lasted longer. The argan oil simply feels more silky, and I felt confident that I was spreading a thin layer everywhere.

Now about using it on hair . . . . it was not a good thing for me. I used a small amount, about as much as I would on my face, and massaged it into my wet hair before styling. Ick. Even after combing it through, I could see it and feel it in my dried hair. The argan oil did not get absorbed as quickly as it did on my skin. Because I'm blonde, the argan oil darkened the areas where it stuck. This might be great to use on dark and/or damaged hair, but it had only negative effects on mine. I won't waste this expensive oil on my head again. This didn't make me love the argan oil any less, but it did teach me where it worked best on my body.

Argan oil has been a revelation for me. I like that a natural, organic oil can actually work better than many preserved, perfumed, chemically-created products. Note: The manufacturer supplied a sample for review.
