Conair CS44NCS Dry 'n Straight Ceramic Straightener, Purple, 2 Inch

I had one of these for years and my daughter dropped it (many times) and broke it. I searched all over and could not find it except on amazon. It works great to straighten or curl african american hair. This is by far the best flat iron I have ever had!!!

I borrowed this from a friend the first time. I'd been using a skinny flat iron that just wasn't working. This Conair Flat Iron AMAZED me. I have very thick, naturally curly/wavy hair, and lots of it. Straightening at home is always difficult and I never get salon-like results. The very first time I used this, my hair looked gorgeous! It was pin straight, soft and shiny. It looked like I'd payed lots of money at a salon to have it done. It's bigger than I'm used to, so it will take some time to perfect getting it close to my scalp without burns or pulling, but since the results are fantastic & quick it's worth it to me. My hair routine just went from 45mins to an hour and lackluster results to 25mins and fab-u-lous! Love it and highly recommend it. Not to mention the great price!

My hair was continuously pulled out by this straightener and I eventually returned it. The metal plates had a thin gap between the plate and the plastic where my hair was often caught. I also did not think that it did a good job straightening. Because of the size, I was unable to get close to the roots and straighten "fly aways". I would not recommend purchasing this item.
