I have very thick, curly hair, and I've used many a hair straightener in my time. The HAI is ok like many other straighteners I've used, it gets my hair straight enough after a couple of hours of ironing. However, you can get the same result with straighteners that are significantly cheaper. I used to have a Solia which only cost me $80, and it did the same job as the HAI.I can't say enough good about this flat iron. I had another HAI but it had an orange coating on it and the coating comes off after a couple years. Still a really great flat iron I had mine for 2 years and the paint came off HAI replaced it for me and I had the second one for 2 years and the same thing happened so I decided to try this one. It was my hairdresser that recommended it to me, she uses this one in her salon and loves it so I tried it and I love it!! I love that it tuns itself off so nice to have that piece of mind. I have naturally curly hair and I dye it a lot so my hair is very frizzy. Which you would never know once I'm done with my Hai.
