I'll start off with saying i'm a white boy but ive been using relaxing products since i was 16... i have renaissance Biblical painting style tight curls that i hate... I always wanted straight smooth hair and just wasnt born with it. was tired of the bulk and all the razor thinning that had to be done. i also have long hair... I used many products that are marketed towards women of color and they worked great... pin straight and shiny like i wanted but it always felt damaged and my hair was kinda stuck in place exactly as it was when i applied the relaxer.. the Chi relaxer is totally different.. it doesnt make my hair pin straight but it tames it and makes it silky and smooth and looks so much more natural... I'm always able to get two uses out of each box... I use exactly half of the the cream and half of the neutralizer and save the other half for 3 months later for a second application. so i get 6 months of shiny manageable hair. this product is worth every penny and ethnicity is irrelevant... I've turned on many friends to this product.. If you want little to no damage and Natural looking results that dont look synthetic wig like then this is the product for you... I'm totally sold on it and will continue to use it in the future.

On a side note though. U may wanna do this in a WELL ventilated area.. It doesnt have vapors like many relaxers do however the sraightening lotion smells VERY bad but ots ease of use and effectiveness makes it worth the inconvenience.

My hair has tight waves in parts and and looser ones in others. It's very thick but it's not coarse. The really tight wavy part is in the back under the top layer and is getting worse as I get older. Who wants to tug on their hair with a round brush and a blow dryer for 30 minutes? Not me!

Enter CHI. I got this one because it's a relaxer and they specifically warn you it's not a straightener. I didn't want full on bone straight hair. I was a little concerned at first because my hair is highlighted. I followed the directions but I did not leave it on as long as it said to. As soon as it was all on (that process itself takes 5-10 minutes), I combed through to make sure it was all straight and into the shower I went. Then quickly onto to the neutralizer.

Skip to the results...I have straight hair! (Not bone straight just straight) with no damage from the product. It certainly takes a lot less time to dry it and style it. The only thing I miss is the ability to create a style with body. It's a bit lank. But yesterday a woman at work said to me "wow, what did you do to your hair? It looks great!" I guess living without as much body as I'd like isn't so bad.

As the new growth comes in, I'm going to be faster with the application and go directly into the shower. I expect I'll be even happier with those results as it won't be on so long on the first section, while I'm putting it on the other sections.

Overall this is a 5 star product. Just be sure you know what you're getting into.

I will not ever go back to regular hair relaxers. The relaxer does smell,but I don't care! It makes sense to me to wet the hair first, and then the relaxer. CHI don't you ever discontinue this product. If it is not broken; don't fix it! This system is less damaging then any relaxer that is out on market. Thank you CHI!

I have used this poduct for years and just abolutely love it! After watching my hair dresser apply this for years, I finally started buying it myself and teaching my husband how to apply it. He does a fabulous job. Because my curls are so tight, my application varies from the directions provided. So much cheaper to do it myself.

Exceeded my expectations... first time using a chemical relaxer... my hair is long w/a natural wave & not in a good way. Styling has always been a pain because my hair is also very, very thick, so straightening with a flat iron is time consuming. I didn't have all of the additional chi products to use (shampoo, keratin mist & silk infusion) when I received the system, but I used it anyway with just the 3 parts included in the package. I did it by myself, so my coverage was a little uneven, but afterward my hair is 90% straighter, soft & shiny w/no signs of damage.
