it is a poor quality in material. Consider its cheap fabric material, almost 10 dollars was way over price!
I would not recommend to others... not with the price.
this is felt like. i say like because i think felt is flammable, so it must be treated with something to be a hot iron mat. one end is open and my my curl wand sticks out ever so slightly. there is a velcro closure in the center just under the PYT. i'm keeping it because i like the pink color, the iron fit's in snugly, and i just don't have the patience to return it. felt stretches though doesn't it over time? aaugh. if i had seen this before buying i for sure would not have bought it.

Bought three of these for my kids and niece. They do the job,but nothing fancy or outstanding about them. Kids weren't thrilled, but the price was right.
