Remington Cool Style Straightener

Remington Cool Style StraightenerI have had nothing but positive experiences with this straightener. Yes, it does get very hot, but I find that's the point with straighteners or they don't do a very good job. And it doesn't get so hot that I can't handle it. The back of the plates isn't touchable, but the handle never even gets warm and I haven't burned myself. I don't have particularly unruly hair, so I can't comment on how it works for girls with really curly hair, but for someone with slightly wavy hair its a dream.

Things I like:

1. It heats up quickly and reaches a high temperatureI suppose this could be considered a con, but for me its a definite pro. Like I said, I've never burned myself. You just have to pay attention to what you're doing and be of an appropriate age to use it. Its not hard to keep from burning yourself.

2. The swivel cord I use this often to curl my hair which requires a lot of twisting of the iron. The reason I switched over from my last one (conair) was because the other cord got so tangled every time I tried to use it. This one swivels perfectly and keeps my cord from becoming a mess. Love.

3. It gets the job done easy enough. It straightens my hair, it curls my hair, its small and handy for traveling. Its a multipurpose hair tool.

Things I don't like:

1. The iron is quite small, so it does take a while to do you hair if its longer, or thicker. It can be tedious if you have a mane of hair, but you know the size going into it. If you have a lot of hair you probably shouldn't be buying a 1" barrel.

I think it's worth it, but I would maybe wait for it to go on sale or be a little cheaper. I didn't pay 29.99 for it, but knowing how well it works I probably would anyway.
