This flat iron is AMAZING ! First off, it leaves my hair silky and shiny. I am African American and my roots are wonderful after I use this flat iron. I havent had a perm in months and my hair looks like I do. The second thing is that it doesnt SNAG my hair. yes ! It didnt snag once! Plus my hair had volume and movement. This flat iron is ideal for all hair styles and I can assure you that you will love it!

I have to make this quick, but the title says it all. I absolutely love this iron. I am have type 3C and 4A hair (some pinky-sized curls, some kinky) and this iron leaves my coarse hair silky and super shiny.

For reference, I use Aveda Dry Remedy shampoo & conditioner along with the Aveda Smooth Infusion (which also serves as a heat protector). For the coarse section of my hair, I sometimes use the Aveda Brilliant Universal Styling Creme.

If you're on a tighter budget, BioInfusion (at Walgreen's) has a decent line of product and the polishing serum is a great alternative. You just have to be your own judge of how much to use based upon your hair type.

I have super thick hair so I blow-dry in small layers with a round brush using my Conair Infinity Ceramic Tourmaline blow dryer. It does a great job but now I want the BaByliss blow dryer that matches this flat iron. After blow drying, I flat iron in small layers to get it silky smooth.

Hopefully this review is useful to someone. I figured it would be best to show HOW I use it to explain why I think the results are so good.

I'm not sure why this was so cheap. It is awesome! It's a great brand. Heats up really quickly. Has many adjustable settings 1, 5, 10, 15.... etc to 50. I use it on 10! I can do my whole head in less than 10 minutes. It straightens and smooths. The results also last for me until I wash my hair again (usually every other day). My hair is really frizzynot anymore.

The only downfall is the cord is kind of short in my opinion. But, not a big deal at all.

Update 2/1/11: Not even a month into minimal use... it won't heat up anymore :( I'm still in the window for a refund from Amazon... so I'm sending it back, and will order the same one again (can't beat the price). I'm hoping I just got a lemon and when I reorder it will work fine... we will see.

Update 2/8/11: I was bummed to find out I had to return it for a refund instead of just getting an exchange. Even more bummed when I looked it up the other day to see that it cost $15 more than I paid for it a month ago. Now I see the price is back down BUT I would have to buy it from a seller other than Amazon... I don't trust that... so whenever my refund goes through (can take 10 days after they receive the product!)I think I'll just order the Pro Nano Titanium. More expensive but more great reviews, and Amazon sells itso that's a huge plusif it decides to stop heating up... I can get my money back again:(

Oh well, my short time with this flat iron left me *mostly* impressed.

I've had this hair straightener for a few months now to replace my broken one (diff. brand). I'm glad I chose this!! I love it. If you have the temperature dial on 35 and under it wouldn't glide smoothly (I suppose because it's not hot enough to glide properly). But once i turned the dial to between 40-45, it glides very smoothly. It heats up instantly too! in 30 seconds. Run it once or twice and my hair is straight. Very time effective!

What I love about it is that this product seems to lock out moisture. With my old one, every time I got sweaty, my moistened hair always back to its natural state, which is somewhat wavy. With this straightener, it doesn't happen! My hair stays straight even though I got sweaty. I don't know how it does it but i love it!

So if you want your hair stays straight until the next wash, buy this hair straightener!!

I have short hair and I tried to flip my hair out with this straightener and it worked as well. My hair also stays flipped out until the next wash. It may not be as poofy after a day (understandable as the oil build up may weigh it down) but it doesn't come loose or back to straight like what my prior straightening irons did. Even after a night sleep my hair still look good in the morning. With my old irons it wouldn't even stay flipped/curled within hours.

Well worth the money! I only wish it had dual voltage for traveling abroad.

I have thick (and individually thick), black asian hair, if that matters to you.

I definitely would prefer this over the overpriced CHI. my in laws have that brand and the paint job on theirs don't look anything better than this to justify their price (my SIL's was for $150 for the comet painted CHI). And It's always a plus to have temperature dial. I love my crystal studded Babyliss!!

Bought this Babyliss based on the reviews, how hot it can get and the fact that it had the crystals! Loving it and it's a different color . . . white so the crystals stand out. The Pro heats up fast and definitely does the job. I do not spend that much time on my hair when I straighten it. I use setting number 45. I would encourage any prospective buyers to use protection on your hair due to how hot it gets and be careful not to burn yourself. Buy it . . . you will not regret. I don't regret my purchase and would buy Babyliss again after this positive experience. Happy hair straightening.
