This product works very well for protecting the hair against heat styling products like blow dryers, curling irons and hotrollers. If you are using a flat iron it would be better to use the STRAIGHT GAURD and Silk Infusion for total heat protection! Some products out there say they protect but only give a buffer for lower heat settings. The CHI line was specifically made for HIGH HEAT settings of the flat iron. Great product, really protects your hair, and is actually easier to iron your hair with it on. Spray from far though so that it doesn't make your hair hard! I used to have to blow-dry my hair and then iron it but now I wash it put it in a braid until it dries and then I spray my hair with this and iron it, leaves my hair very soft! My hair was breaking and I was ironing it before without protecting it until my hair stylist told me I had to at least use a protector so i tried this spray and it has really made a difference! If you have colored or treated hair DO NOT GET IT. The product contains alcohol and will affect the color of your hair. If your hair is natural, then get it. It will leave your hair soft. personally, I did not use. I wish AMAZON could give a list of the ingredients in the product for a heads up. My husband recently bought me the Chi Bling iron for Christmas and this spray came with it free. It is a nice light product to use and it doesn't seem to weigh my hair down like some of the cheaper drugstore products do. It is definitely worth the money. You get what you pay for. I bought this product thinking that the Chi straightener was amazing so all their products must be. However, I noticed that my hair seemed dryer after use and not protected from split ends. I even discussed the product with my hairdresser who agreed that she found it was drying and affected the look of some of her clients hair and was throwing it away and going back to her original brand of choice (which of course I have forgotten). Plus, and this is a personal thing, I think it smells like something in men's cologne. I am still in the process of looking for an amazing protectant option.
