I am African American and it sometimes hard to find products and items that works great for African American hair. I borrowed this item from a friend and it usually takes me about 3 1/2 hours to finish my hair. This flat iron helped me finish in 2 hours. It can get up to the roots without burning your hair. It each strand straight in the first or second try. It gets just hot enough but not too hot to burn your hair. I would definitely recommend it.
