Bumble and Bumble Concen Straight Smoothing Treatment 1.7 oz

Bumble and Bumble Concen Straight Smoothing Treatment 1.7 ozI bought this product from the Bumble website and used it a week ago. I wouldn't usually bother complaining about a product, but considering how expensive it is, I am appalled at the results and annoyed that loads of other people are probably going to get ripped off for it too. I have shoulder length hair that is very thick, wavy and tends to be bushy/frizzy. I wasn't too concerned about straightening my hair, but wanted to find a product that would smooth it out and make it more manageable, which concen-straight promised to do for up to 30 washes. I already had the Bumble and Bumble straight shampoo and conditioner and followed all the instructions for Concen-straight to the t. I washed with the shampoo, towel dried my hair, sectioned it off and applied concen-straight from the roots and through the length of my hair, combed it through every 5 minutes, left it on for the allotted time, rinsed it with warm water for 10 minutes, blow dried my hair and then flat ironed it in sections I made sure I didn't miss a single bit. I left my hair completely down for 24 hours and waited that time to shampoo and condition (with the bumble and bumble straight shampoo and conditioner). It has not made the slightest bit of difference to my hair. My hair is exactly the same whether I blowdry it or leave it to dry naturally just as frizzy, bushy and unmanageable. The only difference this product has made is this never in my life have I suffered from dandruff or a dry, itchy scalp. I have always had a healthy scalp, never had any bad reactions to any hair products, never even had to THINK about an itchy scalp and dandruff. Since using Concen-straight I have had the itchiest scalp and it's driving me mad. my scalp is flaking, not just a little but a lot, it looks disgusting and feels horrible and I hate it. I still have frizzy, bushy, horrible hair and now I have a dry, itchy scalp and bits of skin falling out of my hair when I touch it. I used concen-straight to try and get nice hair before going to my friends wedding and now I look and feel like I have a disease, it's horrible, embarrassing and upsetting. Wouldn't recommend at all, not in a million years. Plus, it really does make your hair smell like farts and perfume.

I have black hair that is curly, but kinky when dry. I have been doing my own hair for years. I've used hot combs/stoves, blow dried and flat ironed it myself, and when the keratin craze came out I found a way to order the salon treatment and applied it to my hair which is more than half way down my back and thick.

The CONCEN-straight treatment requires that you comb this product through your hair. It smelled like relaxer or cooked hair like nair. After I rinsed the product from my hair and noticed my hair washed straight however it felt dry. However, after blowdrying my hair for the first time, my hair looked and felt amazing.

Well, the next day when I shampooed and conditioned my hair 24 hours later this time my ends were still straight but my roots were not blow drying straight (they were krimped)so I was required to add more add heat than I am accustomed to get the same results as before I used this product.

I would not recommend this product....... and ladies in general if your hair is not broke don't keep trying too many products because you may wake up one day with all your hair on your pillow.

My hair is fine, dirty blonde but highlighted, dry at the ends, slightly wavy & often frizzy right around my face. My ends are so damaged that it's difficult to get them to lay flat against my back, especially on the second day after washing when they tend to puff up, looking dry and cotton-candy-ish, where the healthier hair just above the ends lays flat and shiny (not a good look with only the dry ends poofing out). My hair has little movement as a result of the dry ends but I don't want to cut it because finally it's longer than it's ever been. I was mainly hoping the Concen-Straight would tame my dry ends and help them lay flatter on my back and that I could reduce the frizz around my face.

I applied Concen-Straight exactly as instructed although after the 24 hours I did not use Bumble & Bumble's Straight Shampoo or Straight Conditioner as suggested. I wasn't impressed with the ingredients or the small amount of those products, and I thought the push on the additional Bumble & Bumble products was perhaps unnecessary, so I took my chances and used my usual shampoo and conditioner.

So, after rinsing the product under warm water for 10 minutes after the half-hour of processing, as instructed, I styled and flat-ironed my hair. It looked okay but dull and VERY dry, probably due to not having any conditioning or product after the rinse. I was worried all day that my hair would remain this dry.

After 24 hours I washed and conditioned with my favorite Pureology Intense Repair Shampoo & Conditioner. Both are sulfate-free and also very expensive, but in my opinion they are the finest products.

Results after Wash: My hair felt back to normal and a little smoother than pre-Concen-Straight when wet. I applied my usual Garnier Leave-In Conditioner and blew my hair dry as usual using a round boar-bristle brush. During the blow dry my hair seemed slightly easier to smooth with my boar-bristle brush, meaning I didn't having to do as much pulling of the hair with the brush, and it looked very good when I was done styling. It felt slightly dry as it normally does but there was less frizz around my hairline and it didn't feel nearly as dry as it felt the day of application.

Results Second day after Wash: I didn't wash my hair this day and it was shinier (enough for a friend to comment), the dry split ends lay flatter on my back instead of puffing up as they normally would have, and my hair, interestingly, had more movement than previously.

Overall I am pleased with the results but they ARE subtle. I may or may not use Concen-Sraight again, depending on how long the results end up lasting. I would never have this process done at a salon either; it's very easy to do at home.

I was anxious to try this product after seeing and reading the ads. I am sad to say this product was very disappointing, from the nasty smell, that vaguely was reminiscent of perm lotion, to the results which left my hair feeling dryer than before. My hair is not any smoother or straighter than before. I followed all the directions that came with the product. Save your money and go to a professional.

I bought this product at Sephora yesterday before reading the reviews (dumb!). I read the reviews and still really wanted to try it. I have never tried a Keratin treatment or straightening treatment before, so maybe I have lower or more realistic expectations then some of the other reviewers, but I was pretty pleased with the results. I didn't follow the bottle to a T. I started off by washing my hair with just some regular shampoo (Garnier Fructise, nothing fancy) and then applying the formula layer by layer until my hair was all covered. It smelled pretty chemically and I was semi-concerned about it being on my skin (though the bottle didnt mention this being an issue). I left it on for the full 30 minutes, brushing with a comb continuously (not every 5 minutes) throughout that time. Then I did the 10 minute **warm* water wash to get the product out of my hair. Finally, the blowdry and the careful straightening.

My hair is straighter today and isn't waxy or dirty like the other reviews mentioned. It still was a little bit poofy after going outside, but definitely at least 50% less than it typically is ( its a 95% humidity day outside). I'm happy with the improvement, and though $45 is a bit pricey, I wasnt willing to drop 250-350 dollars for a keratin or other similar treatment at a salon, so this product worked for me.

Note: I do not have curly hair. My hair is relatively straight but is slightly frizzy and very thick, so humidity makes the thickness unbearable. It seemed to flatten out my hair and make it look much more cohesive and shiny. I'm pretty happy with the results.
