I'm writing this review for my wife who has the most curly hair ever and she hates it, so she has used straightening irons for years now. CHI has been all she uses as it has been the best for her. She has an old CHI model that gets up to 375 or something and it still works, but she wanted to upgrade and get this CHI GF1004 digital since it goes up to 410. We are on our 2nd one in 4 months and the 2nd one has now quit working. The problem that occurs is the heating pad (the pad without the display and buttons) doesn't heat all the way or at all. The first one quit working totally as you could put your hand on it while the other pad worked fine... Now the 2nd one doesn't work, the pad heats a little, but cool enough to put your hand on. The other pad heats all the way. So far, this model has been the worst CHI product my wife has ever had. My wife takes care of these products, doesn't drop them, doesn't get hair spray on them, etc... Her original CHI is still going strong (over 7 years), it's like these newer ones are worthless or they made a big bad batch of these digital ones...
Very expensive a true rip off.
