I had the GHD flat iron for a few years, which was good. Then my dog chewed through the cords (Grrrr! Bad dog!). So I had to borrow a flat iron from my friend. She brought me this one. It was AMAZING!!!! My hair was so smooth and straight from one run through!! And you can't beat the price for the quality of the product and the results!

Displays in different temperatures if you like. It automatically shuts off if not used (I always love this feature in hot tools, because I'm afraid of accidentally leaving them plugged in!)

HAIR TIP: I learned a trick to making sure your hair gets the same straight quality to the last strand. You notice how your hair is never as straight as when you started? Well with this Tool Science flat iron, there is a digital display that shows how hot the flat iron is. After one run through, the heat goes down at least 20 degrees. So, now I wait until it goes back up to the heat I set it to (which is always the highest) to make sure I get the same great straight look I got when I first used it. It does take longer because you have to wait for it to get back to the same temperature each time, but it's worth it to have the look and the display keeps you from having to guess if you've waited long enough!

I bought this because my friend has a tool science hair straightener that is only slightly different. The difference in quality is unbelievable. This one is not nearly as good!

(I'm going to come right out and say that the other person who rated this product a one star is simply downright clumsy. Of course, if you drop something, it might just break. I haven't dropped my flat iron yet, not sure if that's something I'm looking into, but! Moving on...)

I've tried the Chi, my roommate has one and I wanted to get one for myself because I liked the results I got after using it. But, the price tag was absolutely horrifying. I bought the Tool Science Nano Silver flat iron for $38 on Amazon after using my friend's. I loved it. The difference, to me, is the heat control. It has a digital display that shows the exact temperature. Like the Chi, it stays hot. But something that really got me hooked was that after using the Chi my hair felt really oily and looked super dirty and I had to wash and straighten my hair everyday. With this one, my hair stays looking silky and healthy, not dirty and weighed down and hippyish, and I can wear my hair straight for 3 days without washing. Oh, and for some reason, the Chi made my hair stink.. this one still lets me rock that fresh wash scent. I think it was more than worth the money!! Actually, I bought 2! One for myself, and one for my boyfriend's mom. It's great :)

I purchased this after my hair dresser recommended it but I was not satisfied. It fell off my vanity to the floor and broke in half... Poorly designed and definitely not worth what I paid for it... I thought it was commercial grade.
