I bought this expecting a good, quality straightener. It took me about two seconds to realize that I was going to return it.The straightener is solid. Seems very well made, that's not an issue. Looks like it'll hold up to a pounding, the small one too.
But, it snags your hair and pulls it out. I'm used to this because my other straighteners have started to do that over time, but this was ridiculous that it was tearing my hair out straight out of the box.
The heat was decent. It got hot, up to 450, but it still took me a long time to straighten my hair. I was missing that "wow!" you get when you buy a new straightener and it straightens your hair super fast, and looks great. My hair just looked so-so after taking twenty minutes with this thing, and then by the end of the day it looked like I hadn't straightened it at all.
Also, the straightener body got very hot and I couldn't touch the top of it while I was using it. That was annoying.
The small straightener that comes with it is really cute, and it gets really hot, 400 degrees. The whole thing heats up though and you can only hold it by the end, otherwise you'll burn your hand. It did just a decent job as the big one did, and although it was cute, I couldn't help wondering the practicality of it. It was tiny, and won't do you much good unless you only straighten your bangs or a very small bit of hair.
Overall, I've gotten similar results with my twenty dollar wal-mart straightener. It's not worth the price. I returned it and bought a chi.
