Don't buy this. There has to be a better way you can spend your money.At first, I was happy because the seller sent the product very quickly and it arrived before the delivery estimate.
But as soon as I opened the box, it was all downhill from there. The gloves it came with already had stains all over them, which was strange because all of the product was tightly sealed. But I didn't mind.
Then I go to read the instructions and find that this kit requires you to use a brush (like a hair dye brush for getting all of the product onto your hair), but they don't include that. Like I'm supposed to just have one lying around.
Then I go straighten my hair and apply the product as instructed. I put the cap on and let it sit for over 10 hours, as they suggest.
Then when I went to wash it out this morning, I found it extremely difficult to get out. Even when you crush up the hardness, there's still little chunks of it stuck throughout your hair. It's like trying to get a mixture of sand and tar out of your hair. I still wasn't able to get all of it out my vision was going black and I was about to pass out from standing in the shower too long, wrestling with this crap in my hair. So I had to get out. No decent hair product should take more than an hour to rinse out.
And the worst part? It had ZERO effect on my hair. Zero. I can tolerate a hair product with a messy application process (and applying this to your hair is VERY messy). I can tolerate a hair product with a moderately high price tag for what it is (mashed up plant stuff is all this is). I can even tolerate a hair product that comes with dirty gloves. However, I CANNOT tolerate a hair product that flat out doesn't work.
Because I read the instructions several times, I know that if your hair is very curly, it will take several treatments for it to become straight. However, I was expecting to see at least a SLIGHT reduction in the curl of my hair to see that it is working. I'm not going to invest anymore money into this expensive product when I don't have a shred of evidence that it will eventually work.
It's like this company is deliberately trying to cheat people out of their money. It's obviously geared toward people with very curly hair. If your hair is very curly, you have to buy a ridiculous amount of this treatment to see if it will get your hair straight. And by the time you figure out whether or not it works, you've already wasted about $500! I'm going to take the hint I found this morning when I tried to rinse this stuff out and my hair wasn't one bit changed: it doesn't freaking work.
I'd rather spend my money on something that I am sure will work (such as a relaxer or some other kind of permanent hair straightening method that is more widely used), than gamble away $300-$500 on the possibility that this MIGHT work EVENTUALLY...I know that those things are damaging, but at least they do what they claim to do the vast majority of the time: get your hair straight.
The product also claims to dye your hair black. If you have very light hair, it might get your hair darker. However, if you have very dark brown hair and want jet black hair, this does almost nothing. There is very little visible change in my hair color, and what little change there is might be just because I haven't been able to wash all the stuff out yet.
In my experience, this product fails on ALL of its claims. There was NO evidence that this product would have any straightening effect, even a little bit. It does NOT dye your hair jet black the color it dyes is more like a 1B (Natural Black), which is different from Jet Black (1) on the hair color scale used by most salons and hair companies.
It does nothing. It stains your scalp for a few days, and that's it. I can't speak for people who have different hair than me (such as people who only have a little bit of curl), but if you have very tight thick curls, then most likely...this either won't work or your pockets will be all spent out by the time it eventually does (if ever).
Also, I strongly suspect that the 5-star reviews of this product that are up at the moment are fake. They're simply too conveniently positive and don't mention anything about how messy this product is, how difficult it is to get out of your hair, and the fact that it does not dye hair the color it claims to. They're suspiciously, conveniently positive. I've researched this product all over the internet and outside of Amazon, there are zero reviews of it and zero evidence that it works. Yet miraculously it has a 5-star rating on Amazon? Fake.
I'm VERY disappointed in this product and would not recommend it to anyone. Like I said, the straightening effect was zero. It's just a messy hair dye. And if you want a natural hair dye, there are other good ones for much cheaper with GENUINE good reviews and in the RIGHT COLOR. I'm not going to buy this again and waste all my money HOPING this will eventually work, like they want people to. I'm going to try Japanese hair straightening instead; at least I've seen evidence from people that it works. If there's anything you can try BESIDES this product, go for it. Don't waste your money here.
The application is very messy, which I wouldn't mind if it worked. I know they say it could take several applications. However. after one use, it made my hair hard. The first time I used Curlaway, it didn't loosen my curl either. But at least it made it softer and easier to manage.
Now I have to wait until my hair grows out to try something else because you can't use any other process on top of it. At least my hair is short and I only used have the jar.
If anyone would like to try the other half, I can send it to you for $25. You can try it and see if it works for you without spending $100 like I did.

I have been looking far a wide for a product like this. So glad to have found it! I am not into using harsh chemicals in my hair because i don't have tons of hair and always worry about losing hair. This cleopatra did not damage my hair at all. As a matter of fact it feels really healthy and shiny now. love the luster in my hair. I did have to use more that one treatment to get it really straight but it did work after my second treatment my hair was completely straight.
