I own the 213L model, which is exactly the same as the 213X model, except it has 121 .33CT clear Swarovski crystals studding the handle and steel-paneled body of the dryer, a 9' professional line cord, and possibly a longer warranty (5 years). However, it must be essentially the same model due to the fact that it comes with an instruction guide to the 213X.Functions: An Ion "on/off" button on the back, rubberized grip handle, cool/warm/hot + low/high functions, and a "cool shot" button. The grip is comfortable, even for someone with petite hands, like me. it has a hinged filter which "screws" off for easy cleaning. No more getting hair "eaten" by the back end of the dryer. Phew. My diffuser has the two-toned black/red color, and a black nozzle attachment.
Performance: This dryer works amazingly! It feels less-powerful on "high" compared to my last dryer, a 6-year old Revlon 1875 Watt dryer ($20), but this didn't affect its usage. The "Cool" function is actually cool instead of being somewhat-warm, and using the "cold" feature even on dry hair seems to smooth it out a bit. I have thick, straight, mostly coarse hair, and tend to look like a fluffy poodle after washing. My hair simply gains a ridiculous amount of volume and flyaways and I was always afraid to dry my hair all the way, thinking I'd heat-damage it. But this hair dryer made my hair straight, sleek, AND smooth! I am no longer afraid to dry my hair completely, it looked like freaking hair-commercial hair. The drying time wasn't that much diminished from my old dryer, but the difference in quality was definitely noticeable. I might go so far as to call it a minor "miracle." No more applying balms and salves to make my flyaway strands stay down!
Cons: Weight is definitely a con on this dryer. It is no "featherweight" style and holding it for a lengthy time will build bicep strength. It's a little heavy for me but my biggest arm workout usually involves typing on a keyboard. But if you like something "substantial," this is it. I estimate about 1.5-2.5 lbs.
Price difference: With substantial discounts from its MSRP of $140 on the 213L, the price difference between the two was *not* substantial. It sounds dumb, but the resultant $15 price difference for the crystals was worth it for me. Now my dryer is not just functional, it's relatively pretty, and I hate to sound like a giddy little girl, but the sparkles really lift my mood during the chore of drying my hair... and the knowledge that I own one of only 2,500 213L(s) produced.
other Notes: 5 year limited warranty. It is *not* dual-voltage, so no dragging it overseas. Mine also has a handled wooden carrying case with a satin inset, which is a little too ostentatious and large. High-quality, I just don't have room for it. The Amazon pictures of both products are all accurate.
Final Note: Would I buy this again? Yes. I compared it to other discount store dryers and high-end dryers. I almost bought a Hai Jade Air, but seriously, this one seems to have the same functionality as higher-end dryers. But who wants to spend $165+ on a dryer, anyway? Save that for your Chi iron. The only con to this one is that it's just a bit heavy. I think I'm going to go buy the Infiniti hairbrush too... I'm *that* pleased.

I did a lot of research before buying this, and based on the reviews of this and the "unlimited" version (213x) bought this one for a few dollars more for the "bling."Important things first:
First time I used it, I noticed a HUGE difference between my old dryer: My hair (mid back, chemically abused for years: colored, bleached, permed, straightened, you name it, my hair has been through it, medium in thickness, and tons of it.) is much softer and less frizz.
The output isn't as strong as the regular store bought one, but this is a good thing since my long hair isn't everywhere while I am trying to tame it. The heat is great and does cut my hair drying time shorter, without being too hot and overdrying my hair, thus hopefully, not further damaging it, but only time can tell with that.
The length of the cord is an added bonus as it's super long at 9' and the added attachment fits snuggly, but still easy to take on and off. I've only used the concentrater so far, and it does a great job, and the nozzle itself, you can easily rotate it to direct the flow of air towards the section your drying, without burning your fingers as it doesn't overheat like other hair dryers tend to do. I am yet to use the diffuser, so I can't comment on that yet.
The button functions are great too; you can't really ask for more. It has cool, warm and hot heat settings, low, medium, and high for air flow. Plus it has a cool shot button. I can't think of anything else you can possibly want. Even though the buttons are placed on the handles, I am yet to switch them by accident, as it takes real intent to really change 'em then an accident. However, I do find myself occasionally hitting the cool shot button by accident every now and then, but that's to be expected... I do that with most dryers, so I'll take personal blame and wont hold it against the dryer itself.
Cosmetically, not to sound corny, but it's the most beautiful dryer I've ever seen. lol I can't believe I'm saying that about a hair dryer. But it's true; the crystals are really worth the few extra bucks. The light catches it and it's really all sparkly and gorgeous. How much more classy can you get then stainless steel on black, and just enough bling to be beautiful, without going overboard and looking gaudy? The packaging it arrived in, a nice wooden box with satin fabric lining would be great if you're giving this dryer as a gift, but other than that, there's not much use for it honestly.
Now for the cons:
As all the reviewers stated, this thing is super heavy, actually the heaviest I've ever used and that's saying a lot. I'm in pretty good shape too, and this thing does wonder to work my arms. So yeah, it could go both ways as a good thing or a bad thing depending on how you look at it. Nonetheless, it is so heavy, I have to deduct a star.
Another star is deducted because although my hair is softer and less frizz with this dryer, it's still not frizz free. Hence, although there are improvements, this is no "Miracle" hair dryer as others claim.
Overall, I am happy enough with this hair dryer, and with the pros paired with the price, it's affordable enough for me to keep around as a spare hair dryer, or to use for traveling mainly to show off the "prettiness" of it (ha ha ha, still can't believe I'm saying this about a hair dryer.) However, I'll still be on the look out for this "miracle" hair dryer people claim to exist. This may be a miracle for some, but not for me.

I have a sister who does hair and have access to all the great name brands sold in salon for great prices, so perhaps with my experiences and connections, I am much more harsh on reviewing hair products. In addition, I am a victim of Lupus, and have had experiences with losing 3/4 of my hair before and having to wear wigs and hats. So I dont take my hair for granted as it is my "crowning" glory.Even at Amazon's price on this hair-dryer, it's expensive as hair dryers go. I was wary. I have been letting my hair dry naturally because most hair dryers in the past have been so loud, hair-damaging, and drove me bonkers with all the noise and hair getting pulled into the motor, etc. Also, my countless dryers over the years have been just plain ugly.
Frankly, my early impression of Conair was that they use cheap plastic materials (who doesn't these days!), but this dryer does not look, feel, or act cheap! Heavy, for sure, especially since I'm not use to blow drying my hair and the ceramic ion technology does give the product heft. I've only used my new dryer a couple of times: being a little overwhelmed by the packaging,it took me some time to take it out of the case. The case is excessive to me and does look cheap. Who in the world would carry their hairdryer around in something THAT ostentatious? I don't know quite what to do with it -Salvation Army?
But the dryer itself feels good in my hand, the blow feels gentle. I always use "low" speed and "warm" heat on my superfine hair. The gentle heat on the back of my neck and shoulders feels wonderful, like a special treat in the early morning. No frizz. More shine. Love the sparkles and so glad they aren't rhinestones. My little indulgence for something I will eventually use every day has put a little more sparkle into my mornings as I prep to face city traffic, long drives, and difficult parking situations.
