I got this flat iron to use when I'm traveling. Generally speaking, I have thick, short, Asian hair that is mostly straight, but still has a bit of a wave to it. I just use it to smooth my hair out a bit. I'm a licensed stylist, so I'm a bit spoiled by the effectiveness of professional tools. This flat iron gets hot, but you have a wait a bit and even then, it doesn't get my hair as nice and flat as my 1" iron. I usually turn it on while I do other stuff (brush my teeth, do my makeup, etc.) and give it time to heat up. I can see this working for someone who has fine to medium hair with just a slight wave or straight hair. The color and size are super cute and, although it works fine for a quick touch-up, don't rely on it to give you a perfect style.

Read all the reviews before I bought this and was a bit scared it wouldn't work as well as I wanted it to. It works great! I used it traveling all over Europe. Used it on our cruise and a few other short trips. It's brilliant! Great for plane travel as it weighs almost nothing. I use this as my regular flat iron now. My daughter and I split a new CHI but she has full use of that now. Not needed. Besides the fact it is so darn cute. I have the lime green. Love the color! The heat resistant mat that is also used to fold it up into a neat package and the plastic zip up that it goes into make it the best travel accessory or just keeps it neat and tidy in the bathroom. Great for work or to put in your carry bag. Sending it with my daughter for competitions. Would definitely buy again.

it really works on curly hair and it makes your hair super straight i love it and itts lime green who would not love that plus its light weight and heats up fast

Purchased to use in Europe as my wife's flat iron is rated for 110V only. When it arrived I noticed the label showed 100V-120V only. (I uploaded pictures to the Customer Images section but they have not been posted yet) As further evidence the plug is two pronged with one prong being wider than the other. This shape is designed to keep someone who doesn't read the label from plugging it into a standard international adapter. These adapters are made for true dual voltage products that can handle 220V. To use this flat iron we would have to also purchase a step down voltage converter. This is the only item my wife travels with that is not dual voltage so we were trying to avoid buying a step down voltage converter just for this. Also, if you read converter reviews you'll see that they are not to be used with high watt products like flat irons. I'm hoping Amazon will take this back without a restock or shipping fee. I'll update review once I know outcome.
