I have had this flat iron for about 3 years now. Recently it stopped turning on so I decided that I loved it so much that I would get another one just like it. This is seriously the best flat iron out there. I've tried others but they either stop working quickly or they don't apply enough heat to straighten the first time around.

I recommend it to everyone.

I have been using various straightening irons since the early 80s so I consider myself very well versed in them. I have long hair that I highlight so it is important to use something that does not fry my hair. I purchased this in July '07 and by the end of the year, the finish on the blue plates started coming off. I recently contacted Hai and it was still under warranty so I returned it and they made an exchange for a new one (I don't like that they charged me $8.50 in shipping and handling for their defective product though). Other than that, I really like this iron. It's light, small and has a swivel cord. There are so many irons out there that are sky high in price and it's just not worth it. This does a great job. (We'll see how long the blue plates last on this new one). I found the best price on Amazon!

I have the most unruly curly hair ever. I got my first introduction to the world of straightening and this Flat Iron during my high school years and I've never looked backed. It's been 6 years total and it finally broke on me. I've tried 3 other flat irons and none of them even come close to the quality job (ha I got voted best hair all 4 yrs.) that this iron does. It's just the right size and gets hot enough to tame my hair.

My suggestion is to definitely invest in this iron and to not wrap the cord around the body of the iron during storage. I think that's what finally made my iron stop working in the end. I love this iron!
