i wasnt sure about purchasing this iron,i mostly only did so for the design, i fell in LOVE with it. but i had seen bad reviews on herstyler products, but also good ones. and no reviews on this exact iron. i finally decided to buy it (for 60$ is so great because its valued at 320$). and it's everything i expected. i dont use it religously but i do use it from time to time. the only bad thing is that you can't control the temperature. but other than that i mean i'm not gonna say it's the best flat iron there is because I've seen better, but it does straighten your hair. (i have long straight hair by the way-mexican american, so i really only iron to control the frizz). if you have really curly hair maybe it's not the best flat iron for you, but if not then go for it, i love this design. iv seen other flat iron designs and none come close to this one. iv seen some with dragons and stuff but i like this one better. i also saw it in mexico priced at 3000 pesos, so pretty much the same price as here. it's also good for flipping hair, and i havent tried to curl my hair but i hear it's good for that too. (plenty of youtube videos on herstyler products was what convinced me). im glad i bought it. its very unique and does its job.

I first used this iron while stationed in Afghanistan from a roommate of mine. I wore my hair in cornrows primarily while deployed because of the harsh conditions and limited supply of water. When I took my hair down I didn't want to perm it because of the water situation so I would flat iron my hair in order to be able to pull it up in a ponytail. These irons would leave my hair soft as though I had a fresh perm. I purchased a pair for myself and haven't been disappointed with my purchase. My roommate paid over $100 for the pair she has which she bought from a kiosk in the mall. I have a great product at a fraction of the cost. I love it.

Herstyler straightener red tattoo works good. Heats up fast. But I like the regular black herstyler straightner better because you can change the settings and it worked better than this one. Don't get me wrong though, this works good too, I prefered my old black plain herstyler for it was more flexible and faster when straightening my hair.

I have dry, wavy/curly hair. Two months ago I got my hair cut and highlighted. The tech used a straightener on my hair after using Miracle 7 conditioner on my hair. I was surprised at how soft and silky my hair was. She said her iron was a high dollar professional iron so I did not expect to get the same results. I was wrong. This iron heats up in half a minute. It straightens my hair with ease. I can turn the iron either direction at the ends to flip it up or down. My dry, curly hair looks shiny, silky and STAYS STRAIGHT FOR SEVERAL DAYS. Granted this is January so I am curious to see how straight my hair will stay in humid weather.

The box that this comes in is high quality packaging and is a nice presentation as a gift. I'm not into tattoos (mid 40's) but for the huge price break, I did not care. For someone who likes the tattoo design, it would look fantastic to add a nice bow wrapped around it and let the box design be the bling of the package. The front flap also has a magnetic closure for ease of opening. You could take out the insert to carry the iron, comb and hair essentials with you.

I got this iron because of the 100 percent ceramic plates. The iron itself is very lightweight. The alignment on the plates is perfect. There is not gap like I see on a lot of other flat irons. It has a swivel cord which avoids tangling.

The iron gets very, very hot. A little too hot for my liking. It doesn't have temperature controls, just an off and on switch. The little red light lets you know the iron is on, but it does not let you know when the iron is ready for use. It stays steady red and doesn't blink.

When I used it on my hair, it straightened very quickly. It did pull a little bit on the ends, but that could be because my ends are uneven and need a clipping. I tried curling, and the curls came out very pretty and shiny.

The only cons that I would mention so far is that because the plates get sooo hot, the design or paint around the plate area, I notice, were melting and chipping away a bit. I don't know if this will get worse or not, but that sort of defeats the purpose of me getting a pretty design on the flatiron. A plain black one would work just as well and not have paint problems.

I also wish this had a temperature control so I can lower the heat a bit. I don't like too much heat on my hair. I also wish the little light would blink when it's hot to let me know it's ready.

Otherwise, the flatiron works well. My hair is nice and soft. By the way, With other irons, I felt the ends of my hair get dry and brittle and I would have to go over them a few times to get them to go straight. After using this one, I would just do one pass, and my ends feel soft and not dry. Pretty good.
