Baka Beautiful Natural-Laxer Mix

I personally think this product is great for what it is. I think people make great mistake when they expect chemical results from a natural product. I had 4h natural hair type (meaning the kinkiest of the kinkest)prior to using this product. I have been using this product for about a year. It was okay in the beginning but I really started to see a significant difference when a friend of mine with 4a hair recommended I mixed NAtural-Laxer Mix with another product called Wisely Made Resurrection Treatment and use their shampoo & conditioner instead. Since then, OMG, I have seen a serious difference. Although my hair may not be a 3a it definitely has become softer, shiner, no longer dry, more managable and my curls are more defined. It is probably a 4bish. Yes these products are expensive but the results are worth it for me. I would much rather spend money on something that is good for me as opposed to the other chemical products that take up 98% of the shelves in the beauty supply stores.

I have been in transition and like many women of color...I have joined the new trend.....I have decided to go natural! I love the affect of this natural relaxer because I can still remain true to my natural roots but still acquire manageability. I have tried a variety of products during my transition. Many of these product are unused because upon careful examination, I have discovered that they have chemical ingredients instead of a natural ingredients. Baka is Beautiful because it is really all natural. The results were satisfying and amazing. I can't wait for my next application. I recommend this product for women that have their hair in a natural state but want defined curls. I recommend this product to women who enjoy using natural hair care products!!!!!

I first saw this product on TreasuredLocks.com and I hesitated to buy it because of the EXPENSIVE price per ounce (2oz), but after weeks of thinking about it I went ahead and bought three jars for a total of $50.92 (tax included). Never in my life have I paid that much money for a hair product at one time and certainly not for anything that was just going to be washed down the drain. I didn't buy the shampoo, conditioner nor the rose water because they cost $5.99 to $6.99 each for only 2oz! I didn't buy the kit because the kit cost $48.95 each and only included one 2oz jar of Baka Natural-Laxer. They say if you have longer hair that you may have to use 2 jars. Well it takes three applications until you start seeing results. I have shoulder length thick course 4a hair so I ran out of product and had to use 1 1/2 jars. So basically I spent $29.98 for only ONE application. After the first application there wasn't even the slightest improvement. My hair didn't get any softer. I waited 7 days later like the instructions said and used the second jar. I had to thin the clay out cause if I didn't, I wouldn't have had enough. I rinsed it out, still no improvements. Another 7 days went by, I used the last jar. Still no improvements. Now I'm not one of those women hoping that after using this product I'll have silky curly hair like Shirley Temple. That wasn't my goal, I just wanted something that would loosen my curl so my hair would be more manageable. Well, this product was a big costly fail! My hair feels and looks the same. I understand that it will take several applications to see results but I am not willing to spend HUNDREDS of my hard earned money on a product that's not even permanent (I'm aware that it's not permanent, I'm just saying)! They could at least put more product in the jar!! They could have made it at least, at leeeeast 4oz! But nooooo they only made the jars 2oz so that you have to spend MORE money!! Plus they have the nerve to charge $6.99 for a 2oz bottle of shampoo that's only going to last two washes. Normally if you pay $6.99 for a shampoo it should last you about 5 months and you would normally get 12oz! I'm tired of these cocky ripoff companies taking advantage of ethnic women!! They feel like if they have a "good" product they have the right to charge you a arm, a leg and a left butt cheek. Well I'm here to say, "GET OFF YOUR HIGH HORSE!!!" Your products do NOT work for ALL hair types! So stop acting as if your OVER-PRICED, QUANTITY DEFICIENT products merit the OUTRAGEOUS prices!! And lastly, in the instructions pamphlet is say's, "Average hair length and volume will get ONE application with entire mixture". Like I said before I have thick shoulder length hair, so are they saying that the "AVERAGE" black woman has VERY short thin hair??? Are they saying that the average black woman has hair ABOVE her shoulders or shorter??? I suppose if they have damaged, short, thinned out hair due to a chemical relaxer! But my hair is natural, healthy, thick, kinky and comes to my shoulders...and I believe MANY (not all) black women have THICK hair! Somebody needs to go back to the drawing board and revamp this entire Baka Natural-Laxer company and lower their prices...I will NEVER purchase this product again!!!

Gave it 3 stars in combination with the rose water because it made my 4a/4b hair soft and moisturized. But it didn't do what I expected it to do which was stretch my curls naturally. After a months use (once a week), it just made my curls frizzy instead of stretched. I also didn't like the fact that there isnt much in the container, and you are not given the option to purchase a larger size. Instead I had to buy 2 for a week application and mix together in a seperate bowl. I have a lot of hair and it would have been nice to be given the choice to buy a 16oz jar or even an 8oz one.
