I have extremely thick, kinky-curly hair, and have tried many straighteners over the years. This is my personal favorite. It's particularly effective when you take the time to straighten small sections and it's easy to add big, beautiful curls or keep it poker straight. I don't use any products when using this flat iron many other flat irons only work when my hair is slathered in expensive styling balms. It works great, and I can keep my hair straight for a couple days with only a few little touch ups. However, after very light usage, the color (mine were bright pink) started to wear off around the hot plates. The color didn't end up in my hair or anything, it just wore off quickly. The look of them doesn't bother me, especially as they work so well. They get 5 stars for effectiveness and 3 for looks due to the wear and tear, so I settled on 4 overall. A great product for any kind of hair.
