But, now my suffering is over. What I love about this straightener is that it works almost as a brush, dryer and straightener in one. The other reviewer commented that the pins hurt her head. I consider those pins to be a brush, besides; you almost have to have pins so the steam can penetrate all of the strands of hair. I can handle it and my head of hair is usually full of tangles. What I do is blow dry my hair until it's almost completely dry, brush my hair really well, work the straightener through my hair, and BAM perfectly straight smooth hair. My only complaint is that I wish I would have discovered this straightener a long time ago...
Update 1/15/08:
After accidentally breaking this one, I couldn't wait to purchase another one. Upon opening my new Conair straightener, I was saddened to find they have remade the original design and have now removed the two sets of straightening pins. Darn! While I still find this straightener great, I don't find it quite as effective without the two rows of pins to really permeate my hair... I bought this flat iron over 1 year ago and am so happy with it. I have naturally curly/frizzy hair which even after blow drying straight, still has some frizz to it. This flat iron takes the frizz out without drying my hair out which other flat irons have done in the past. I like that it also has the option of using it when your hair is wet so you can change the setting and flat iron your hair without the risk of totally burning/frying it. This one has an auto off after a length of time as well which is great for someone like me who usually forgets that it's still plugged in! Best flat iron I've owned; durable, great price, and doesn't fry hair!
Buy Conair Tourmaline Ceramic Straightener with Straightening Comb, Red, 2 Inch Now
I love it when I can find a product that will make my heavy, curly hair straight. The Conair Wet/Dry Straightener does it so well, I use it all the time. I've used other straighteners and none have been able to keep the hair straight as it goes through the plates.Pros:
*Small "pegs" on the plate encourage the hair to go through the straightener with more direction, resulting in no wave remaining.
*Vents on the side let wet hair be straightened
*Heats up quickly
*Easy to handle
Cons:
*Thick hair has to go through in small sections.
*Fear I'm going to fry my hair because I use it all the time now!
*Cord is a little short
A highly recommended product! My hair is very thick and this straightener could not handle it. It seems like it would be fine ofr other types of hair but if you are black or just have hair that takes a lot of effort to straighten, I would not recommend this straightener.
Want Conair Tourmaline Ceramic Straightener with Straightening Comb, Red, 2 Inch Discount?
I have very curly hair and have purchased several straighteners troughout the years and this is the best one I have found. It will pull at your hair if you do not comb through your hair first or use straightening cream or conditioner. Something like Biosilk or Redken 05 Straight (which I use)works perfectly. The wet hair setting takes longer to work so I usually wait until my hair is dry or blow dry it and then straighten it. I love this product!
