There are some white, non-trasparent gunky past-like looking thing stuck in the crevice.

It doesn't affect the performance of product and it's not too easily visible, so I didn't bother to return it.

But it does arouse some suspicion as to the credibility of the seller.

I was interested in purchasing this product but there were no reviews up at the time. I emailed the store and recieved a response within a day. I ordered the product, received it on time in perfect condition. I have never owned a Straightener before this one I did alot of research. It does exactly what it says, I have owned it for more than 4 months now and it heats up everytime like a charm. My hair is soft and I can use it on my hair damp and it has never scorched it. I HIGHLY recommend this product and this store.

For the past couple months, I've been shopping for a new flat iron. I had a few requirements temperature control & dual voltage, mainly, and I didn't want a "cheap" iron, as those have damaged my hair before. I have fine straight hair, so I use a flat iron to smooth and give some body and I don't need a 400 degree iron to do that. And I will be traveling overseas in a couple months and so needed dual voltage.

I ordered this iron a week ago and had it within a couple days. I tied it out and I love love love it! I have one spot where my hair has seen a little too much chemical from highlights and it's really dry. This iron smoothed it perfectly, and I can't even tell the hair is damaged. So, while I didn't buy this iron to be my main iron, I have retired my other straightener and have gone full time with this one.

Just got this flat iron and I must say I never write reviews but This flat iron is so bad and DANGEROUS that I had to. I am a professional hair stylist and I have Been through many flat irons from cheap Walmart brands to GHD. I should of stopped using it as soon as I took it out of the box. This iron feels like its cheap quality and badly made. As soon as I started using it on my client one of the plates fell off and 2 electrical LIVE wires where hanging out the client felt a shock I threw it in the floor and unplugged it by pulling from the wire two feet away. I was so scared and it was very embarrassing. I don't know yet if this client will ever come back. Right now I am fuming. I will return this junk for a full refund. The is no way the reviews are real they FABRICATED by this only seller. There is no way someone can leave a glowing review on this crap. I see from other negative reviews I am not the only one and mysteriously they where voted as not helpful. I strongly believe this seller is manipulating the reviews and votes.

I purchased this for an upcoming trip to Europe. I have extremely thick, curly hair. The low heat setting didn't keep my hair straight, but when I heated the iron to 450 (max), it worked great. This is just as good as my iron at home and will work with 110 or 220V. I really enjoy it and am very pleased with my purchase. It easily keeps my hair straight for 2 days (without washing). I have already recommended it to fellow travelers.

TIP: I purchased a 1 inch pan handle holder (from a cookware chain) and it allows me to put away/pack the iron when hot. Fits perfectly.
