Ghd 00217 Professional Original Styler, 1 Inch I purchased this product in January of this year, Three months later I started having problems with the styler. It would heat up, and when I started using it, it began clicking and the heating element would go off and on. I was not happy of course since I had paid 170.00 for the product. I called the company as it has a two year warrenty. I was informed the company would not honor the warrenty since I had purchased this product through Amazon.com, that I would have to go through Amazon.com for any conpensation. I talked to Amazon.com and they told me they would only compensate me half of the purchase price, and when I asked for the product to be replaced, they said NO they would not replace it, that they could only give me half of the purchase price. They said they would send me an email with a link for me to print a return label and that return postage was free. But When I recieved the email with the return label At the very end it says if it is not their fault, I would be charged 34.00 for the return postage!!! I feel like I am getting the run around here! I can send it back, but they will only refund me half and then they are going to take half of that for return shipping??? It is just wrong wrong wrong!!!

The one sold by amazon is authentic. And i registered it on GHD's website. It works ok. Flatten my hair as well as curl my roomie's hair. Maybe I am not familiar with it, it didn't turn out perfectly when I 1st tried it. But I will keep practice~~ 1 star off for the high price... I bought my GHD from Amazon.com. Loved it, till it started going on and off and making a clicking noise while I was trying to fix my hair. it had a two year warrenty so I called the company, they said since I had purchased it from Amazon, which was not an authorized dealer, they would not honor the two year warrenty, that I had to go through amazon.com. When I talked to amazon.com they told me they would NOt give me a replacement, and only when I have sent it back to them would they consider giving me back Half of what I paid! I am NOT happy with Amazon .com. I feel like I have been jipped out of my money and my straightener. My advice to anyone about amazon.com Check the fine print and then some! It never told me they were not an authorized Dealer, and now I am screwed! Definitely the best hair straightener in the world. After trying a few staighteners available in the market, I settled for GHD as I had heard rave reviews from my friends and hair stylists. I was a bit sceptical when I was buying the product(as it is quite expensive in comparison to other straighteners) but my doubts vanished as soon as tried it for the first time. I have frizzy hair which is extremely unmanageable and I have always wanted to have straight and silky hair. I can finally say that my dream has come true!Hair straighteners tend to make the hair very dry. But GHD does not. Though, I need to condition my hair very well after every wash (preferably with a hair mask). I leave it on for 3-4 mins, wash it off, dry my hair using a hair dryer. I then liberally spray a good heat protect spray all over my hair and use the iron.
I am thrilled with this product and would recommend it to anyone who has always wished she had soft, silky and straight hair! Buy it girls..you will not regret! :)
