I love this product made my hair so easy to manage it so soft can't say enough about it thank youI have long naturally frizzy wavy hair that is fine and thin. I also lighten it from light brown to medium ash blond. I regularly condition my hair with coconut oil and protein treatments. As an aside, applying coconut oil to dry hair before bleaching it helps prevent damage to your hair. Despite the fact that my hair was in excellent condition, I opted for the sensitized version to be on the safe side since I do lighten it with a non-ammonia permanent colorant.
I didn't want pin straight hair, so this is what I did. I first watched the Matrix video on Youtube on Opti-Smooth Cold Service. And then I sat down and carefully read all of the instructions for both the cold smoothing service and the thermal service which utilizes the flat iron on a high heat setting.
I began by first spraying the pre-treat after washing and towel drying my hair per instructions. Then I applied the developer cream. After washing the developer out-which I had kept on my hair for twenty minutes from start to finish-I blew dry, and then I used my curling iron which I set to medium high heat to get rid of any remaining frizz and add body. In the cold service video the Matrix rep blow dries the client's hair, but does not use a curling iron.
Afterward,I used more pre-treat spray and applied the neutralizer for ten minutes. I rinsed out the neutralizer and then finished up with the final three minute conditioner. The entire process took me a little over 2 hours from start to finish.
I found the process very easy to do by myself and I am no professional. You really have to pay attention to timing and have everything prepared a head of time, hair clips, mirrors, towels, etc. I also recommend watching The Matrix video a few times to familiarize yourself with the process.
I am very happy with the results. My hair is no longer wavy, but has ample body and no frizz and lots of shine and softness. I see absolutely no damage. I live in Florida, where the hot humid summers can be brutal to troubled hair, so this product has been a Godsend.
Thank you Matrix! It was just too hard for an inexperienced person to use. Did not get the results we were hoping for. Gonna leave it to the professionals.
