I have tried many expensive salon polishers, serums, sprays, hair masks, etc.. most don't work. I saw this for $4 at target and thought it was worth a shot. It doesn't leave my hair frizzy or greasy looking. I was able to straighten it and get straight, smooth hair. (I usually end up with frizzy fried looking, poofy waves)I slept in it, woke up the next day, and my hair still looked great. I tried using curlers with it and ended up with beautiful shiny curls. All my friends thought I got 'new hair' the first time I used this. People constantly ask me who does my hair. (btw, I'm not Robert... I've been using this stuff for over ten years. Nothing I've ever tried works as well as this. It's a great detangler, in addition to making my hair shiny and smooth. I named this review "Scratch, Scratch" because I think that is what it made my head do. I only used it twice so I am not sure if it was this product that actually did it, but I did notice my head started itching...not right after, but probably at least after 30 minutes of using it. I believe I need to give it one more go and pay more attention to when or if I actually start itching. Let my clarify, I didn't feel like I was itching my brains out but it was the kind of feeling like my scalp was dry.

Amazing! Came earlier than expected, heats up extremely quickly, has very high settings for thick hair and more gentle settings for thin hair,good results!!!! The only problem i found was the crimper, for some reason it wont close all the wasy when u lock the straightner so you have to put in huge amounts of hair, so i just dont lock in the straighner anymore so it will close all the way on my hair.

I have very wavy, thick hair. I had bought a flat iron at a drug store but it never worked well for my hair. It took a long time to straighten and the results only lasted a few hours. fhi is the only flat iron that can get my hair straight. i have really curly hair and use to get my hair done on occasions professionally because no flat iron would be hot enough for my hair texture to make it straight. this flat iron goes up to 450, im a 450 heat type of girl lol soo.... anyways in order for this to work correctly and for girls with really curly hair wanting to experiment straightening their own hair heres and easy way. wash your hair,deep condition for 30 to and hour with shower cap over head, then wash deep conditoner out, section your hair off in 4 sections, use nioxin thermal bliss heat protectant with a moisturizing oil and blow dry, each section hair should come out pretty straight, then spray your hair with motions oil sheen and rub it good throughout your hair, get any serum im liking the luster pink glosser along with keracare press creme and put those two products on each strand of hair, when you press your hair it will come out feeling silky with a sheen. all of this might sound greasy but if u have thick curly hair like me this aint greasy at all cuse your hair soaks it up fast. i use the tancho wax stick for the front of my edges to lay them down works pretty good. anyways i have spent tons of money on lots of highend products but these products i mention are inexpensive and get the job done easy. i will list the products below.
I really enjoyed my Nano CHI iron while it lasted (RIP 7/06-11/06), it handles well, it's a great straightener, and it's a pretty color. However, I dropped it approximately two feet, onto a carpeted floor, and it stopped working. I purchased the CHI about four months ago and think that a $120 iron should be a bit more resiliant. I'll still purchase CHI products, but wouldn't recommend investing in the Nano Technology just yet...there are a few kinks that still need to be worked out, and it's not worth having to pay an extra $35 to have it repaired.

I bought this chi nano in October of 2007, it was amazing at first I absolutely loved it. It's not staying up to it's original performance now (2 years later). It has trouble maintaining heat. For example the red light will blink (indicating it's heated up), after straightening my hair for about 2 minutes it stop blinking and starts reheating again. the straightness doesn't seem to stay as well anymore either. The edges of the iron have slightly burned (Don't know if they can/can't come off, i haven't tried yet). When I first bought it i paid $120 and I feel like a straightener worth $120 should last this shortly. Also, for those who are wondering, I used this iron 3-4 times per week. It took me about 15-20 minutes to do my hair. If you are like me and plan on using this heavily, I would suggest looking for a product that has greater durability. I've had this flat iron for over two years now and it works great. I've used other irons from the Chi line that my friends own, but this one is teh best by far. It heats up quickly and doesn't pull your hair like other flat irons do. I go over my hair a maximum of 2-times and it's super straight. I love this product and highly recommend it.
I got this flat iron because I was so amazed by the "smoothness" of the glass. The actual iron itself isn't too bad, and it straightened my hair really well, which is super hard to do, being that my hair is incredibly thick, even after I blowdry it. HOWEVER, the ends of my hair got all caught up where the glass ends and heat protection material begins. It made this ripping noise, and there was my hair on the "smooth" glass!!! This product would have been WAY better if they had made the plates smooth on the ends. Now I have shredded hair, and have to go to the salon to get all the split ends trimmed! Thanks Conair!!

I bought this flat iron a couple of months ago as I was fascinated with its glass technology. My hair was pretty straight, but it also ripped out the ends. See, the glass isn't the only thing touching your hair; there is some kind of border (so you don't burn yourself I guess) around the glass, and the glass is glued in or something. There is too much friction between the glass and the border (it's not smooth there at ALL) so it rips your hair out. Also, whatever coating is around the border thing starts to come off, which is really making the surface harsh on hair. I stopped using mine (I only used it a few times) so I can keep my hair. I recommend upgrading to a ceramic ion flat iron. I guess when it comes to hair, higher prices do equal higher quality.I had recently saw the new conair shiny styles on tv and in stores. Never owning a flat iron before i decided to give it a try. It worked for a month. I decided that i shouldent straighten my hair any more but i changed my mind when i saw this. It looked like it would work well and it was cheap so i bought it. I was a little disapointed with the way it yanked at my hair but it loooked great. I purchased this glass straightener at the local Walgreens, for the price of $25.00. I do not use styling products often, but I did try this several times, only to notice it seems to not only fry my hair, but it breaks the hair off! It seems the hair can sometimes get caught somehow and just breaks off! And when you smooth your hair, yes, that does work, but it becomes somewhat frizzy, broken off. It actually damages your hair!
I bought this iron two months ago through Amazon (Turboion will not recognize products bought through this site). It worked perfectly on my thick and curly hair! I was thrilled! I even recommended it to others who went out and purchased this product. Now I am panicking because the unit will not heat up. It turns to "69", then shows an "err" message and turns off. I have been searching the web for a troubleshooting guide to help me fix it. I emailed the company....let's see what they say "if" they get back to me. I was convinced this would never happen to me. I am humbled and warn others not to buy this product until this company changes a few of their policies and product design. It's too bad because this company almost had me as a lifelong customer! I love this straightener. I have very curly hair but I love it straight. My old method of straightening involved me blowing out each section and then going over it all with my old straightener, a process that would take about 45 minutes. Then if there was any humidity at all in the air it would immediately start to frizz. With this straightener I either let my hair air dry or just blow dry quickly while brushing, then I go over the curly mess that is left with my croc and in 10 minutes it is pin straight. I saw this in person at the local beauty supply for $150 and found it on Amazon for 1/3 less. It is very lightweight and heats up INSTANTLY. The 1.5 inch plate is perfect for any hair length. The iron has a nice design to it and is very comfortable and lightweight in the hand. I have thick, heavy hair. The iron grips it securely. Another thing I like about it is that it uses a small plug (as opposed to a box) so there is plenty of room to use the other plug above (or below) it. I've had my croc straightner for about 1 1/2 years, and have loved it. It does a great job with my coarse wavy hair. But recently, it starting saying err or 069 and then shutting off. I was so frustrated and disappointed, and I almost threw it away. I looked everywhere for a solution, reset button or manual for it. Couldn't find it :(
