I'm new to hair ironing, and this doohickey helps a lot. I can separate the hair and hold the specific parts I want to iron. But it's not an expensive gadget; I bought it for $8.99 on Amazon, and I thought that was too much. But my hair looks fabulous with using it, while I had all sorts of dents in my hair beforehand. If only I had this years ago. Ive had a straightener for years, but rarely got the results I wanted. I suppose I was being impatient, trying to get through all my hair too quickly, but this forces you to work with less hair at a time and to spread it out the width of the straightener instead of clumping it in the middle. And couple that with the slower technique I saw at one the Herstyler booths in the mall, I now have that smooth shiny hair. BTW, it was way cheaper here than at the mall.I really love this comb. I have 4a/4b African American hair, and I have always had difficulty flat ironing my hair. My hair would always come out poofy and would revert within a day. With this comb I was able to get my hair as straight as if I had gone to a salon. It did not revert, and I was able to straighten in half the time.I've never been able to master the round brush. This has been a great help for the days when I want my hair to be straighter, but not ironed.Okay I love this comb it works great and helps save my hands from my straight iron. The only problem is I have pinched my hand multiple times and it really hurts! It happens at the end by the hinge, other than that it works great!
