my daughter has only used this flat iron 2 weeks when it started shutting off while she was using it. I am a hairstylist and Rusk is a pretty repetable line so I was very disappointed in the quality. This is not a product I would purchase again which I was considering getting them for in my salon.

This straightener is amazing!!! I absolutely love it. I am a 26 year old hair styling newbie, I have LONG THICK insanely curly coarse hair and have never owned a blow dryer or straightener. I had had other people beg me to let them do it and sat for HOURS while people tried to get it under control. I broke down and bought a blow dryer, this flat iron, and some heat straightening products. My hair was so soft and shiny and frizz free when I was done. It heats up really fast for touch ups and stays straight forever! I couldn't believe how few times I actually had to run it over each section. I think it looked better and went faster than the only time I ever had someone at a salon do it! I am in love with this product and for the price I would recommend it to anyone!!!

I was looking for a flat iron that would work as good (or almost as good) as the ones in the salon, without spending as much money. My stylist suggested I purchase a Chi or Rusk that has temp up to 450 degrees. The product description says it goes to 450, but the dial on the iron is numbered 1-25. I just guessed that 25 is at 450 degrees, but I'm not sure that is correct. I do wish the dial was set up with temps, not numbers. I do like that the on/off switch is inside the flat iron, so I don't accidently turn it off with my hand while using it.

It does straighten my hair OK (and I already have straight hair), but unfortunately not as good as at the salon. It does work better than other cheaper ones I bought at the discount stores. I guess if I'm going to get one close to salon quality I'm going to have to spend a lot of money and buy a salon iron, but until then I'm satisfied to keep using this one.
