I have curly hair that has a mind of its own. When I found the Helen of Troy straighteners I rejoiced! But after a few years you always need to replace them. I was extremely upset when I couldn't find another HoT straightener, until someone told me that they were not HOT Tools. This straightener gets VERY hot hot enough to actually straighten my hair! It is the only straightener that will actually straighten my hair and keep it from frizzing, even in the DC humidity. When my straightener dies (which I'm sure it eventually will, but it's 2 years old and still kicking!), I will buy another one of these. Excellent price, excellent product, excellent hair!

I love this straightener! I paid around $35 at a salon and it worked great and lasted me about two years! My Chi only lasted me a few months! I bought this straightener again because it lasts long and does a good job!

I have thick, frizzy hair, and it takes me five minutes to straighten my hair!

I love this product/brand. It's seen me through high school and most of college, and I'm not about to switch!

The only downside is that it doesn't curl hair like some one the smaller flat irons do.

I really love my curling wand. The only complaint I have is that I wish it would get just a little hotter. I have to leave the wand in the hair longer than my other curling iron. But besides that, works great! Came pretty quick too! I recommend this tool!

If I had a chance to, I would send my product back in and exchange it for the size that's smaller than this one. The wand is thicker than what the pictures depicted, but I can't complain too too much considering the results. Curls well, heats up rather fast. Only thing I can really complain about is how long it took to ship. I placed my order for this on June 30th, 2012 and didn't recieve it until July 10th, 2012.

I purchased this Tong about a year and a half ago, It was great until recently and now sometimes it heats and sometimes not. Or it will heat and turn off with in seconds.

I loved this device and for the money I spent on it I would expect them to work longer then the cheap brands. Of course warranty is only 1 year. I was not a daily user of the product so I'm quite surprised it's broke.

These are the first hair tongs I have ever used. My hairdresser used these on my hair and I came out of the salon looking like I had straight hair with a end curl (from very curly hair).

I bought the tongs attempting to DIY. The tongs did their bit however me, the user, needs a lot more hours of tonging experience!

Apart from user issues, the tongs worked well, they heated up super-quick, were light enough to hold over my head for extended periods, would recommend to anyone wanting to buy this type of hair tong.

I have had mine for about 3 years. You can completely straighten your hair or curl it, you just need practice with the iron just like a traditional "flat" iron. It is much easier though to curl with the Hai elite Tong than a "flat" iron (since there is a curve in the iron, you don't have to use your wrist as much.) Like any salon grade tool, you just need to know how to use it. I would suggest taking your purchase to your hair stylist and asking them to do a demo.

I straight iron with a curve is hard to find in a store if not impossible, at least I couldn't find one. I have used one for about 8 years. My hair is described as thin, but LOTS of it making it thick. It gets very frizzy so it straightens very well. So much so that it looks like straw to use a straight iron. I LOVE THE CURVE. It was worth paying the extra money to get a smooth finish with body. The round curling iron would not leave as smooth of a finish as a straight iron does, at least not for my texture of hair.

I purchased the Herstyler because I was tired of buying $20 flat irons that did not give me the results I wanted. I have coarse, African American hair that is relaxed and was looking for a flat iron that was less than $100 that I could use to straighten my new growth. This flat iron does just that. I don't use it every time I straighten my hair (you can't control the temperature and this flat iron gets really hot!) but when I have a lot of new growth, using this flat iron really does give my hair the "freshly relaxed" look.

I have purchased so many flat irons and expensive styling tools that just do not work for my hair. I'm happy to have finally found one that does. I probably wouldn't have purchased this flat iron for the retail price, but for just $30, this is an amazing tool.

I would give it 5 stars if I could adjust the temperature and if my hair didn't smoke so much when I use it. I haven't had any damage to my hair but I make sure I use a heat protectant before using this product. Once I use it on my hair, the results usually last for at least two weeks so at least I don't have to put that much heat on my hair on a regular basis.

I am very pleased with this product. I originally purchased the red herstyler from a kiosk at the mall. It had a white ceramic plate that was fine, but sometimes pulled your hair. Had it for at least 4+ yrs and finally gave up. I decided to look online for one and found this one.The magenta has a smooth silky like plate over the ceramic and glides thru your hair without any tugging or pulling hair. It heats up in seconds. i have thick black hair and it straightens it in less than 10 minutes and lasts for 2-3 days. I highly recommend this product.

The only reason this product does not get the five star rating is because I was required to use more that it prescribed and then also, if you are un-use to harsh chemicals, a beginner to hair care or novice or just experimenting, this product still has harsh chemicals in it that can burn your eyes, burn your nostrils and make it difficult to breath. I suggest putting required amounts of step two in a pointed squeeze bottles so that the product is more manageable. It was just difficult for blow drying because those chemicals became fumes.

Finishing. the product left my hair incredibly straight, it was relaxed before but, the keratin treatment did not further damage my hair. Be sure to apply to your tips of hair to tame any of your split ends.

I just received my flat iron yesterday and I was so excited to use it; I placed the order on Monday and recieved on a Wednesday. I have bought the CHI which was the most disappointing thing ive ever bought, not to mention it leaves your hair feeling dry. I am African American & my hair type is extremely thick/coarse/medium length. I literally did one swipe on a piece of hair and it was sooooooo straight . I believe I had my settings on 25 which suprisingly is not the hottest. These plates do get very hot and it leaves your hair feeling soft & silky. I did not use the free oil they give you nor did I put any grease to help it straighten, this was 100% the straigtner. I am more than satisifed that i can go on! You will not be dissappointed. .

This is a great straightener. I've had an FHI and a Chi, and this beats them both. When I started using the Argan Heat blow dryer, I can get my hair silky and straight. My hair type is thick/wavy/kinda frizzy. The blow dryer makes the straightener optional, but using both I get amazing results. If you're looking for a great straightener, give this one a try. Get the blow dryer, too. It really cut down on the time it takes me to get ready in the morning!

I am a hair dresser, and I found this wonderful flat iron by accident. My old flat iron was broken that day and I needed a new one asap so I stopped by at the nearest supply store and they didn't have the one I used before. i thought this worked amazingly for my hair type. i have dry, frizzy, thick hair and its styled in a short bob. it has heat adjusting levels from 1 to 24 (being 450 degrees) i think. and i only have to put it on level 15 to straighten my hair! it leaves it feeling shiny, silky, and smooth. I love it! level 24 was way too hot for my hair so Im sure people with coarse or really curly hair would have no problem getting it straight with this. however, i do recommend getting the argan repair shampoo and conditioner with the repair mask before you straighten because it worked so well! if you are someone with frizzy or dry hair it is PERFECT! Also, i suggest adding a little of the argan oil to your hair when its damp, it really adds a nice shine. i love it!

OK, so first of all, the prime shipped it next day and the price is awesome! Next, I have been natural for 2 years (had the big chop) and my hair loves to revert to its teenie tiny spiral curls at even the slightest blow of wind. I have been flat ironing (several passes) and then using the old fashioned pressing comb (I know right!) to get my hair sort of straightened, however, it puffs soooo easy. This morning I get up and my hair was in a puffy state. This Iron Is Awesome!!! It took only one pass each section of hair to get it straight and another pass to curl it. The wind/humidity did not make it puffy on the way to work!! My hair is sooo shiny and straight! I have already convinced some friend and co-workers to buy it (they have seen me in my puffed hair and are impressed as well!)

I hated it. The product was supposed to be ISO and it seemed like a knockoff even though I was told it wasn't after returning it. The tool however went against my hair making it super frizzy and far from anything perfect. I wouldn't recommend it to anyone. Oh and it didn't give me more volume or curls and it didn't even straighten my hair!

Ive heard a lot of reviews on this and people raving about it on youtube. I went ahead and purchased it, used it 5 times. Wasnt convinced, it did nothing and i gave it away. What a shame after reading all the reviews and seeing all the ads.

Im not sure what the complaints are about. I think this is a Great Product. It is fast to heat, has programable settings and the ability to turn off rotation. Complaints about noise are GREATLY exaggerated. It is no louder than my Sonicare toothbrush. I am a very satisfied customer and wish I could by an extra one for backup but they are no longer available. I guess that 1 bad review ruined it for the rest of us.....so sad.
