Ordered this on the hopes it would work for my daughter who has very thick and curly mixed hair. It is amazing. We have been able to stop the chemical processing that was hurting her hair and use this iron to achieve the same look. It takes half the time and half the heat of our old iron leaving her hair to look straight and silky. I use it on my own hair too and love it!! We have been using it now for 4-5 months and wouldn't buy anything else!!
This unit heats up fast, and I like the way it moves through my hair -no more pulling my hair like my old flat iron did. It does a great job both straightening and curving, leaving my hair very smooth.
I liked the videos on their website that demonstrate how to get the flat iron to make curls, waves, etc. -do more than straighten.
The only reason I'm giving it 4 stars instead of 5 is the trouble that I am having registering the product on their website, in case I need to use the warranty. The Couture is one of the models with the longest warranty period -3 years. So look at that before you order. Some of the other models only have a 1 year warranty, and they cost just as much.

I just received my flat iron yesterday and I was so excited to use it; I placed the order on Monday and recieved on a Wednesday. I have bought the CHI which was the most disappointing thing ive ever bought, not to mention it leaves your hair feeling dry. I am African American & my hair type is extremely thick/coarse/medium length. I literally did one swipe on a piece of hair and it was sooooooo straight . I believe I had my settings on 25 which suprisingly is not the hottest. These plates do get very hot and it leaves your hair feeling soft & silky. I did not use the free oil they give you nor did I put any grease to help it straighten, this was 100% the straigtner. I am more than satisifed that i can go on! You will not be dissappointed. .

My old flat iron was broken that day and I needed a new one asap so I stopped by at the nearest supply store and they didn't have the one I used before. So I decided to looking for a good deal one which was this one, they had 20% off on that day. Since I used it on my clients' hair everyone fell in love with it and asked me where did I get it. All of my coworkers had switched their flat iron to this one. It's amazing, makes hair shiny and smooth healthy look without pulling. And when you try to make curl, it came out so beautiful. i thought this worked amazingly for my hair type. i have dry, frizzy, thick hair and its styled in a short bob. it has heat adjusting levels from 1 to 24 (being 450 degrees) i think. and i only have to put it on level 15 to straighten my hair! it leaves it feeling shiny, silky, and smooth. I love it! level 24 was way too hot for my hair so Im sure people with coarse or really curly hair would have no problem getting it straight with this. however, i do recommend getting the argan repair shampoo and conditioner with the repair mask before you straighten because it worked so well! if you are someone with frizzy or dry hair it is PERFECT! OK, so first of all, the prime shipped it next day and the price is awesome! Next, I have been natural for 2 years (had the big chop) and my hair loves to revert to its teenie tiny spiral curls at even the slightest blow of wind. I have been flat ironing (several passes) and then using the old fashioned pressing comb (I know right!) to get my hair sort of straightened, however, it puffs soooo easy. This morning I get up and my hair was in a puffy state. This Iron Is Awesome!!! It took only one pass each section of hair to get it straight and another pass to curl it. The wind/humidity did not make it puffy on the way to work!! My hair is sooo shiny and straight! I have extremely thick, kinky-curly hair, and have tried many straighteners over the years. This is my personal favorite. It's particularly effective when you take the time to straighten small sections and it's easy to add big, beautiful curls or keep it poker straight. I don't use any products when using this flat iron many other flat irons only work when my hair is slathered in expensive styling balms. It works great, and I can keep my hair straight for a couple days with only a few little touch ups. However, after very light usage, the color (mine were bright pink) started to wear off around the hot plates. The color didn't end up in my hair or anything, it just wore off quickly. The look of them doesn't bother me, especially as they work so well. They get 5 stars for effectiveness and 3 for looks due to the wear and tear, so I settled on 4 overall. A great product for any kind of hair.
