I've purchased many hair straighteners. I have 5 daughters with medium to long hair. I have long hair myself. All of our hair is thick. I like this straightener. It heats up quickly and does a nice job. We have had it now for 3 months without any problems. It's used daily. The price is good and my experience has been, when it breaks down send it back to the company. I did this recently with another expensive straightener and they sent back a new one. Awesome!

After going through SO MANY other flat irons, I've finally found one that's a keeper! This thing heats up fast, and when I say 'heats up' I mean it gets really hot. All the other flat irons I used I would put it on it's highest setting and they still weren't hot enough.... this one? I don't even use it at it's highest. It takes less than a minute to heat up and I can have my all of my hair straightened in a quarter of the time it took me with other irons. It really is worth the extra money... you can't go wrong with this one!

I have very thick, long, curly hair. Being biracial, it's sometimes difficult to find products and tools to create the look I'm going for. My hairdresser used this on my hair and I was truly amazed! I purchased one immediately. I used to use a CHI, and had to go over each section several times and it still wasn't as smooth as I wanted it to be. With this iron, I only had to go over each section once, maybe twice, and my hair is perfectly smooth, shiny, and feels like pure silk! I purchased this iron after doing hours of research and after my second CHI iron stopped working. I have very thick, course, wavy, frizzy hair and do not enjoy the hours spent having to dry and flat hour it. It is not long, just shoulder length, but so thick! It had become a burden to do. After going on Babyliss's site and reading about all their irons, I decided on this iron because it has longer plates and wider plates than the normal irons plus it is light weight. I had never purchased or used a Babyliss iron before but knew many hairdressers who used them. This has been the best decision I have made! I love this iron! This iron made the biggest difference in working with my hair and also working with the hard to iron spots like right in the back, center. It has heat settings which a Chi does not have, so you can set the iron for a low heat or a 450 heat for course hair. A pamphlet will come with the iron telling you the best heat adjustment for your hair. Plus using an thermal/heat protectant spray would help. It also has a 4 year warranty! That was another plus! The only thing I wished the company would do is to enclose a sales receipt with the purchase. I just went back into my Amazon account and printed it out to keep with my box. Even when my daughter comes to visit she loves it and she has long, straight, shinny, non-frizzy hair! (the kind of hair I wold love to have!), So overall, this iron is a keeper! Must say, good job self!

Not as good as I thought it would be. I have to say though, that I've never used a heat glove before, so I have no basis for comparison. I can say this: I used it with my You Curl as there is no clamp on it, and although I can hold my wrapped hair a bit longer, if I could do it again I wouldn't have bothered to buy this. When I do use the iron now, I really don't even bother to use the glove. It doesn't make that great of a difference. Hope this is helpful

I had one of these for years and my daughter dropped it (many times) and broke it. I searched all over and could not find it except on amazon. It works great to straighten or curl african american hair. This is by far the best flat iron I have ever had!!!

I borrowed this from a friend the first time. I'd been using a skinny flat iron that just wasn't working. This Conair Flat Iron AMAZED me. I have very thick, naturally curly/wavy hair, and lots of it. Straightening at home is always difficult and I never get salon-like results. The very first time I used this, my hair looked gorgeous! It was pin straight, soft and shiny. It looked like I'd payed lots of money at a salon to have it done. It's bigger than I'm used to, so it will take some time to perfect getting it close to my scalp without burns or pulling, but since the results are fantastic & quick it's worth it to me. My hair routine just went from 45mins to an hour and lackluster results to 25mins and fab-u-lous! Love it and highly recommend it. Not to mention the great price!

My hair was continuously pulled out by this straightener and I eventually returned it. The metal plates had a thin gap between the plate and the plastic where my hair was often caught. I also did not think that it did a good job straightening. Because of the size, I was unable to get close to the roots and straighten "fly aways". I would not recommend purchasing this item.

I have been using this hair dryer for about 9 months, in winter on a daily basis and summertime almost daily. It is compact, light, fast, and fairly quiet. It also seems to be less damaging than the other dryers I have tried. My only issue is the buttons are at an awkward angle, and even after nine months (and 15 years of regular hairdryer use) I am still hitting the temperature button accidentally. I read that this was a problem on different websites before I bought it and unfortunately ignored the reviews. Another word of warning for those of you with straight, thin hair, as I have...this hair dryer will not add any volume! On the contrary, it tends to flatten my hair more than it is, naturally. I think it would be better suited to those with naturally thick and wavy/curly hair that like to blowdry it straight...it leaves a smooth and shiny finish.

*2012 UPDATE* After four years, my BaByliss is still working GREAT. Well worth the money, ladies and gentlemen, and you *do* get used to that button placement, it turns out!

I must admit that I have never owned a hair dryer before. My hair has always been long and free flowing and I never bothered to really take time out of my day to style it but I decided that going out with a wet head every day can't be that good for me so I finally broke down and purchased one. Once I decided to get a hair dryer the process of finding a good one took longer than I thought and finally frustrated by ambiguous information on the net, overflowing with brands I have never heard of I decided to splurge a tiny bit on a BabyBliss, a brand popular with my friends.

This is truly a wonderful product; the difference in my hair is night and day. Even a quick blow dry in the morning takes most of the wetness out and I am left with a fresh, flowing look, or taking an extra minute and attaching the provided diffuser and brushing the hair down as I dry it makes for shiny and sleek waterfall like cascade of hair. The dryer is not only made well, the back vent is raised so it doesn't get clogged and the mesh is very fine but the whole feel of the metal is almost velvety in the hands, the red color is also really gorgeous and I like how it looks in my bathroom. This is a very strong dryer; it takes me about 3 minutes or less to do my hair with it and I like the variety of 6 settings Low, Med, High for the strength of the air flow and Cool, Warm and Hot for the heat settings. It also has a Cool button that is great for locking shine and keeping my head and hair from getting too hot.

Ionic dryers are so popular now that it's hard to pick which one is good, but this one is a real winner in my eyes. It's fast, powerful and works wonders. I also enjoy seeing myself with good hair, it's almost a shock after all these years...

I've always admired how my hairdresser can blow dry my hair straight just using her Babyliss Tourmaline dryer so I purchased one for myself. I am very happy with the way it performs and is relatively quiet for a very strong dryer. In fact, it's a good idea not to position it too close to the scalp at the highest setting because it will scorch. Nevertheless, my hair has never smelled like it's burned. It dries hair really fast and straightens my curly hair even when it's very damp. The cord swivels so it's easy to move from one hand to another.

The only thing I don't like about this dryer is where the switches are. They are located right where you thumb is when holding the dryer so you may accidentally turn the dryer off or change the heat setting. Other than that is a fantastic dryer.

this hairdryer was a gift for my daughter, who is a hair dresser. this is her second babybliss pro tt. the reason she likes it so much is because of how lightweight it is as well as the heat. her first lasted 4 years, which is not bad for a hairdryer that is used all day , everyday. the price i paid for this one was considerably less than what she paid for her first at a hair show.

This was my first time buying anything but a $20 hair dryer and it was a success. I have shoulder length, fine hair and was looking for something that would make it easier to style without frying it. The BabyBliss really is a step up it does not get as hot yet dries my hair faster without frizz. It was so smooth after I used this that I keep touching it all day amazed that this was actually "my" hair done by me not the day I go to the hairdresser. As others mentioned two very minor issues one is that the buttons took a couple minutes to get used to and second that you have to both push and twist the barrel attachment a bit to get it to stay on but it's not that difficult.

I used this....I don't want to slam the product....but it is not for black women. After use my hair felt dry and brittle.

I waited 3 days before the first wash...and my hair looked exactly the same after the first wash...it was like I never placed this product in my hair. I wanted more manegable hair...all I got was good smelling hair for 3 days, and additional breakage. Not much...but noticable. I thought it worked because my hair was bone straight, but I guess I just did a good flat iron.

Cortex Duo Mini And Large Flat Iron Set , Black

I received my Cortex Flat Iron Duo Set Black on Thursday of this week as promised and I must say that it ain't nothing but the truth yall!!
