I love this flat iron. I have a less expensive one and wanted a better quality product, and that's exactly what I got in my Sensu. I'm a black woman and am very particular about how things work for my hair because of the texture, but I am pleasantly surprised it worked this well. I only have to go over my hair once and it was bone straight. And I used it on the highest temp and it didn't burn my hair, but I did use heat-protectant also. And just like someone else said, that traveling case is too small and doesn't stay closed.

I ordered this because of other reviews on here and am not disappointed! Although I don't understand why it is considered "digital" since there is no digital readout, but that doesn't bother me. It heats quickly and evenly and has 5 different heat settings. I can straighten my normally wavy hair using no straightening products and it stays straight all day. I can sleep on it and only have to touch up the next morning. Overall, great product!!!

I'm quite surprised that among all the reviews, no one has commented that the plates are actually 1.5 inches wide, not 2 inches wide as advertised. It even incorrectly states 2 inches on the box. I am going to have to return this flat iron for one that is truly 2 inches wide.

I have a 1 inch and 1.75 inch flat iron, both made by Herstyler as well, and I'm very happy with the product and performance.

I purchased this as a gift for my sister. She has coarse, kinky and curly hair. The other straightner she use would make her hair straight but look dry and dull after using and split her ends. I seen her yesterday and after just a month of using of this straightner her hair looks beautiful healthy, shiny and smooth. I couldn't believe the results it has given her. Can I just say, I hate the packaging! That tough sturdy plastic that cuts my fingers makes the first use of this wonderful straightener frustrating.

* The ceramic plates heated up in 30 seconds and I was ready to roll!

* I like the lock on it that I can use as soon as I'm done. It's just safer.

* The straightener gets hot and my hair straightens first time through.

* Features ergonomic designI like the way it handles and it's not heavy.

* Seriously, at under $20 it is a fantastic price and works great.

I got a kick out of some of the warnings:

Never use while sleeping uh, okay.

Do not use while bathing or showeringduh

Do not place or drop into water or other liquidGot it!? No liquids.

I've had other straighteners, but this one was not the best. I have a few complaints:

1. While the concept of a straightener being able to straighten your wet hair seems very cool, the heat/steam settings are very confusing (ranging on a scale of 1-30 based on cool, damp, or dry), and the steam really bothers me. I'd much rather wait for my hair to dry or be damp than straighten it wet. The heat makes my hair feel very sticky, even though clean, and I must admit, I didn't think that was possible.

2. It takes about two minutes to heat up. While impressive, I suppose, my previous flat irons would heat up with a microchip in about 30 seconds. Those other flat irons (Iso Pros) also had heat control, ranging from 250 degrees to 425 degrees Fahrenheit. This iron is NOT good for those who need to straighten in a rush.

3. It takes a few passes with this straightener to really do anything to my hair, and because of that, it leaves my hair soft, but not silky. My hair looks dry and unhealthy, as opposed to using my (more expensive, but oh so worth it) Iso Professionals.

4. It's a relatively heavy straightener, I think. I feel like I'm working out when I use it while standing for over thirty minutes.

There are good things as well:

1. I like that it has a lock. I think more irons need a clamp lock.

2. I like how it's broad. It makes ironing hair a bit faster by being able to take a larger section of hair.

3. The grip is good, and it's very durable.

Overall, I do not believe the pros outweigh the cons.

I have 2 things that I don't love about this hair straightener. 1) you can't control the temp 2) the ceramic plates don't go to the edge of the frame so your hair is pulling accross the plasic housing. I won't purchase another of these when this one goes, but will look for something else.

My hair is thick and wavy. If I use the wet setting on damp hair, it creates lots of curls from the moisture. Then it takes some time to straighten it. Also, it creates more static than the one I'm used to. I think it's easier for me to just dry my hair with a blow dryer, then straighten with a regular flat iron, like my old one (Conair). I've been pretty happy with Conair. I'm returning the Remington.

I received the flat iron in less time than indicated when I placed the order. I contacted the seller with a question and received a reply within a few hours. My husband recently asked me what the hairdresser did to make my hair look so sleek when she styled it. I used the same products as her and copied her techniques but my fine hair tended to be a bit frizzy. The next time I was at the hairdressers I paid closer attention. Same shampoo, conditioner, brush size and similar technique. As she blew my hair dry I realized the difference she used a professional hair dryer. For years I have purchased inexpensive drugstore hairdryers that run about $20 and replaced them when they blew a fuse a year or so later. With a professional dryer she was able to dry my hair quicker and that combined with ceramic and ionic technology of the dryer she used cut out the frizzys!

After checking out several hair dryers including the one she used, I decided on the Babyliss Pro-Carrera. There were a number of reasons. It offers ceramic and ionic technology. The wattage 1900 is gentler than the 2000 but still powerful. AND a super selling point was that though the dryer is a professional model it is LIGHTER and more COMPACT than other professional dryers by about 25%. Yes I want nice toned arms but not from using a hairdryer. I wanted the dryer to be easy to maneuver.

The dryer has not disappointed. The styling is very euro-chic. Black with a matte finish. Not the shiny easily scratched surface of other models. Controls are easy to use. The handle is comfortable to hold. It has a heavy duty cord, overkill for my home perhaps but not a problem and the hairdryer is compact and not too heavy. The dryer comes with a concentrator nozzle which is not mentioned in the item description. This snaps on the dryer and concentrates the air where you want it to go.

And it dries beautifully. A powerhouse but very controlled works great on my baby fine hair and dries my daughters thick locks in half the time of our cheapie models. And the good news is I understand it will last for years instead of breaking down within a short time period like the cheapie models. Plus its quiet!

For the kinky hair people, here is a review for you. I was having lots of hair breakage and decided to go to a hair loss specialist. She did not have kinky hair and told me to stop putting relaxers in my hair, or stretch retouches out to once every 3 months by using a ceramic flat iron to straighten my hair. She said that since beauticians have stopped basing the scalp, African American's scalps are damaged and causing thinning hair whereas they may have had thicker hair as children, or before relaxers. I thought she was incorrect because she did not have hair like mine, and therefore did not know how to treat it. There was no way that I could imagine going over six weeks without a retouch. I found a beautician that I thought could treat my hair. This beautician used a ceramic wet to set ceramic iron on my hair. My mind was blown at the silkiness and it remained intact in damp weather. The beautician said that some people are using ceramics instead of perms. I am now on the ceramic-ionic move and I am loving it. This dryer was amazing. I keep looking at my hair because it is so silky and shiny and I have not had a perm in nine weeks. I would now love to discontinue the use of relaxers and bring back my natural hair's elasticity by using ceramic hair appliances alone. I now see what the hair loss specialist was saying. Sisters-this is the dryer that you want to straighten your kinky hair. Why did I give it a 4 instead of a 5,the reviews were right about the poor location of the control switches, heavy weight and large size. They are not so favorable, but you will love you hair. You may want to ask a beautician about how to successfully straighten kinky hair while drying it. There is some technique involved. I hope that this review has helped you since reviews for Coily(kinky) hair are hard to find, but what we are looking for.

I am very impressed with both the design and performance of this hairdryer. Exceptionally well-made, it sports a very sleek, cushioned black body; is unusually lightweight especially for a 1900 watt dryer is comfortable to hold, and I did not experience any problems with accidentally changing the settings on the handle (hot,cold, on, off, cold shot, etc.). There is absolutely nothing flimsy in the design of either the switches or the body of the hairdryer. You won't run the risk of changing the settings by accident.

Regarding performance, I am amazed at the outstanding results. My thick, long, coarse and frizzy hair became so sleek (major improvement noticed after having used the dryer three timesI guess the effects are cumulative) that it looks like I took a flat iron to it. I didn't even use styling products!

It dried my hair in less time than my previous dryer, an 1800 watt, terribly heavy professional Elchim (non-ionic), and it did so without tiring my arms. The hair dryer performs nicely, no complaints. The only problem found is that it is accidentally shut off often because of grip size and/or button location. It's a keeper even if this annoyance.

CHI Deep Brilliance Hair Dryer

I ordered this hair dryer for myself after several high-end hair dryers died out only a few months after purchase. I've had this hair dryer a few months and it's still working great. There's a warm-hot temperature switch, a cold air button, a low-high blower switch, and an ion switch. It came with two attachments that fit snug on the end of the hair dryer so they won't fall off mid-dry. It also came with a free sample of a Chi hair product. It's the perfect weight, not too loud, and it dries my hair fast (I have frizzy, curly hair. It also tamed a lot of the frizz). I payed around $60 for it, even though it retails at $130. It's an amazing steal and the shipping was fast. I'd give it more than 5 stars if I could.

I previously owned the larger professional Chi dryer (red with diffuser attachment). That one was over $140 and lasted a long time but when it quit, I was looking for a cheaper alternative. The ion setting is awesome and in some ways dries curly or course hair better than the more expensive one, but I do miss how quiet the other model was. But for price this was a great investment.

I ordered this hair dryer for my mom, who has extremely thick hair. She is always complaining about how long it takes her to dry her hair, so I figured this one was worth a shot because of the brand and the low price. After my mother used it the first time, she called me and raved about how wonderful it was. She said it only too her 10 minutes to dry her hair, which normally would take her about 40-50 minutes to dry with her Revlon hair dryer. She said it left her hair silky and smooth for days. I don't think she will ever get another brand of hair tools because this dryer works so well on her crazy hair.

This is my first "real" hair dryer. I bought this hair dryer to replace a revlon 1600w that I had for almost 10yrs. I must say this hair dryer is the truth. In my attempt to go natural (7 mo post relaxer) I needed a hair dryer that would straighten my hair without having to follow up with my chi flat iron and this did. I use all the low settings (heat/speed) and it did a decent job. I now have a relaxer and can really see how shiny and bouncy my hair is after blowdrying it. The comb attachment was a little difficult to put on initially but I don't have any problems now. I actually prefer not to use any of the attachments as I usually use a paddle hair brush. I love my new hair dryer. I recommend this product.

It leaves your hair feeling silky straight. It's thin (1/2")with long plates. It's nice to be able to adjust the temperature. Alot of flat irons just heat up to a high temperature. I was skeptical because I never use a flat iron, but I wanted to get the frizz out of my hair. I read an article about how to use a flat iron on coarse hair. So I followed the steps. 1. I got the good quality iron my NUME wet/dry 2. I got my hair clean 3. I used a thermal protect spray It was by Treseme and made the hair shine and protected my hair from the high temp. 4. I got my iron really hot (it made the bathroom steamy). 5. I used small sections of my hair (this was hard and took upper body strength)and ironed in a fluid motion so as not to leave any part in the heat too long. IT WORKED my hair came out really straight! It goes down to my back and took awhile but it came out shiny and straight and pretty too. I am so happy with this product!

This product does not work.

It dries my hair, but it doesn't straighten it. After going over the same strand four times, my hair still isn't straight and the ends are coarse and frizzy.

I went back to blow drying my hair and using my 8 year old iron.

Also, the customer service is bad. I'm trying to return the item, but the website has no information on how to do so.

I have long, curly/wavy hair that tends to get frizzy. First, this product doesn't dry hair & I think that's why my hair is so frizzy after using this. I can go over the same section of hair 3 times & it will still be damp. Plus, it doesn't straighten either. It just took some of the curl out of my hair. So after using it, my hair ends up wavy & even frizzier than before. I had read some reviewers on their site that had the same problem. Funny after going to their site now, only the positive reviews are on there. All of the negative ones have been removed. Bottom line, for as long as this flat iron takes to actually dry & straighten hair with frizzy results, you are better off using a blow dryer & regular flat iron or just letting your hair air dry & then use a flat iron.

One 'n Only Thermal Straightening System Normal

This was our 2nd time to purchase this produce it is at least a $10 savings buying it on amazon vs buying it at a beauty supply store.

*PROS: Product arrived quickly. Product straightened naturally curly hair (not tight curls, but med-tight, large curls) to about 95% (a few spots could have

used another application, but the areas were so small we opted to just leave it) a success both times. Left hair soft not dried out or frizzy.

Results were JUST as good as the salon, and last approx. 3 months. Will purchase again!

*CONS: Product does not contain everything needed for the process (see below).

*Need To Know Info:

* Should NOT be attempted "solo" you will need a friend to do application for you.

* Product does NOT come with the following items (you will need to purchase):

-Processing bag to cover head (see more details below),

-comb for dividing hair (you'll need one to make parts),

-application brush (which you'll need to buy from a beauty supply)

-Minimum of 8 hair clips to hold hair back for application process.

* Suggested additional items: Salon cape (to drape over shoulders/etc), ear covers (beauty supply)

* Prepare to spend a min. of 2-3 hours (for short hair) on process.

* You will need a good quality flat iron with adjustable heat setting so that it gets hot enough, but does not burn the hair.

*Tips for application:

* There will be enough product left over for a 2nd application (2-3 days later), however, you are better off not being frugal with the product, and making sure you completely saturate the hair with the product so that it will process adequately.

* Part the hair as directed, and use nice small/thin sections to ensure saturation of the hair sections with the product.

* Work fast (because the last section of hair is when your processing time begins), but it's more important to take the time to adequately saturate the hair.

* Take the strand test seriously it IS the right indication that the processing is or isn't done.

* Expect that you will use the maximum time for processing. We left the product on for at least 2-3 times the suggested length of time.

* Give yourself adequate time to get through this process it took us 4 hrs the first time, 3 hours the 2nd time.

The hair dryers are great, but my experience with the hair curler has been not so great.

Andis Elevate Curling Iron 3/4"33750 I bought this curling iron 10/07 and the spring was weak and it broke about a year later and also the on/off switch quit working. It would not stay on. I was hoping to get good service out of all these product for the price. I also purchased at the same time Andis hair dryer (82075) and Andis curling iron (33770) the on/off switch has done the same thing. It will not stay on. The hair dryer did not last long either. I was very disappointed in all of these hair appliances.

Unfortunately I bought this curling iron before I actually needed it because it was a great price. By the time I took it out of the box and saw that it was broken, it was well past the time frame for returning the item.

The handle of the curling iron was split open so that I could see everything inside, including the cord that was separated from the interior. The split was very clean so it seems that it was actually packaged this way...therefore, no quality control was done or someone would have certainly seen this problem.

I have worn a layered haircut since 1992 and also curl my daughter's hair so on average each day that I curl my hair I use 3 to 4 curling irons. This one was the in between size for my growing hair style which you can see on my Facebook if you wish.

Now that I needed to curl my hair with this size I decided to push the cord contraption back into the curling iron and bound the handle to see if it would still work and I could at least get some value for the money I spent. Well...not a good idea. Lots of crackling and it constantly shut off. Therefore, in the trash it goes. I bought the Conair version from and 2 months later it broke. This was the third time my Conair curling iron broke within a short period so I tried another brand. I'm completely disappointed with this product and have lost out in every way.

This hair straightener is wonderful. I have very curly hair and always have a problem straightening my hair but this iron does the work. I got a lot of compliments on my hair the day I used it so I know it works.

This flat iron was marked down by a lot and that should of told me not to order it. I bought it maybe 9 months ago and forgot to right a review. It never got hot enough and did not run smoothly through the hair. The plates got loose and discolored. I never heard of Le Angelique brand and I never will by this brand again. I usually buy my hair tools from my local supply store with no problems.This iron fell apart quickly and I was to busy and angry to check the return policy . I didn't even have the original box anymore either. The width of this iron was not true to size.Terrible
