Revlon RV484 Pro Stylist Ionic/Ceramic 1875W Hair Dryer

Revlon RV484 Pro Stylist Ionic/Ceramic 1875W Hair DryerI really like this hair dryer. It is lighter than my last dryer, and very easy to manage. I like the setting options: cool, warm, or hot; and low or high. I use the warm & high settings. I think it dries my hair a little bit faster than my last dryer, and my hair feels Great! No frizz, not fried, just smooth and shiny. My hair is fine, not thick or coarse, so maybe that makes a difference in my experience.

I have a similar Revlon Ion 1875-Watt hair dryer with a variable ion control. My hair is very fine, breaks easily, and gets a little frizzy when I try to blow dry it. It is slightly wavy, and gets dry no matter what conditioner I use. I have better 'second day' hair drying it just kills it. This hair dryer has changed all that the very first time I used it my hair dried shiny with no frizz at all. I have great 'first day' hair, 'second day' hair, even 'third day' hair. I did not change one single thing except my hair dryer. I have it set on the 'lowest' ion setting meant for thin hair and it dries quickly and evenly. I would never use another hair dryer.

On the 5TH DAY of use EVER, this drier burned off a WHOLE SECTION of my hair! I smelled burning and turned off the drier, ran my hand over my hair and the whole section fell to the floor! The hairs were scorched and melted together. My hairdresser always comments on the great health of my long hair, I've never processed it, I never even get split ends, so that's not even an issue here. I bought this drier because my last Revlon drier was great. Never again! I've complained to Revlon, still waiting to hear from them.

I gave this dryer a 5 because I am very satisfied with the speed that it dries and how soft and smooth my hair is right afterwards. This is probably not the only dryer that will give these kinds of results and it's probably not the best. But if you have thick long hair like mine(reaches my waist)this is a handy tool. It is a little heavy but it shouldn't be a problem if you only need to hold it for 5-10 minutes. The real reason why I chose this ionic dryer is because I love Revlon's button configuration. The top button lets me adjust the temperature from cool, warm to hot. And the bottom button adjusts the air flow from low, med to high. It lets me control and style my hair how I want to. I get so frustrated when the temperature corresponds to the air flow setting because it won't let me use hot on low or cool on med...catch my drift? Anyway, nice dryer:)

Until recently, I had never done any research before buying any household small appliances. When my Conair dryer finally died last week, I decided to shop around before making a purchase for its replacement. After reading other reviews about this dryer, I went straight to Target and bought it and I have been very pleased! I live in an area that has high summertime humidity and my hair is fine and tends to frizz a bit on the ends. The ion feature really does seem to work and since I've used this dryer, I do not even need to put styling creme on the ends of my hair to keep them in place and de-frizzed. I also love that the dryer has 3 heat settings (my old Conair only had 'high' or 'low' and I've found that the mid setting on this dryer is just perfect for menot too hot or too cold. Great product!

CHI Auto-Digital Advanced Technology Wet To Dry Ceramic Flat Iron

CHI Auto-Digital Advanced Technology Wet To Dry Ceramic Flat IronOrdered this to replace my Chi wet-to-dry that my husband broke. Not of the same quality. The plastic housing is cheap, the cord is shorter, and the iron plates tugged my hair. My old, seemingly identical iron was much nicer. Such a disappointment. And this seller (payless beauty) has a 15% restocking fee which is not disclosed when ordering. I had to pay return shipping and this rip-off restocking fee. Beware!

Healthy Infusions by Wahl Pro Straightener

Healthy Infusions by Wahl Pro Straightener, 2'The feature that drew me to this product is the conditioner strip that applies conditioner to the hair as it goes through the straightener. As it turns out, that is not the best feature.

There is a minimal amount of unscented conditioner (Dimethicone, 2-Ethylhexyl palmitate) released each time the straightener passes through the hair, and it seems imperceptible. I have to take it on faith that it's really there, although when washing my hair the following day, it had a waxy feel to it. It would be hard to determine when the product has been exhausted even with the hint given in the instructions. It comes with only one strip. Replacements are listed at Amazon at three strips for just under $18.00. According to the information on the box, each strip is good for up to 20 uses. That's 60 uses for $18.00 or about $128.00/year (for daily use). It would have to be used in conjunction with a rinse out or leave in conditioner, so it's pretty costly. Once the conditioner is gone, the straightener will still function.

One really nice feature is the LCD that displays the selected temperature of the straightener. There are eight different settings and a handy temperature guide to help determine the correct temperature for several types of hair: fine/thin, normal/wavy, thick/dense/hard-to-straighten, and very coarse/highly resistant. The temperatures range from 200-410 degrees. For my color-treated, fine, wavy hair, 250 degrees did the trick. It is easy to select the temperature. The temperature defaults to 200 degrees when the straightener is turned on again, so you need to remember to set the temperature for each use.

Instructions are complete and even include assembly instructions even though the product comes fully assembled.

The product heats up in only 90 seconds.

There is a removable comb on one side of the flat iron, opposite the conditioning strip. It's a nice-to-have since it untangles and pulls the hair straight as it passes between the blades of the iron. The comb did not seem to pull my hair.

There were no areas on which my hair got caught. This has been a problem in the past with straighteners that had uneven seams or gaps that pulled out several strands at a time.

After use, my hair was straight and shiny, but I had also used two conditioners prior to blow drying my hair.

After 60 minutes, the straightener will turn off whether or not it is in use. (No more of those "did I unplug the straightener" moments as I'm going out the door in the morning. No. The house will not burn down.)

It is not dual voltage and as such is not a good choice for international travel to countries with 220v systems.

I am a flat iron addict. I love my Solia flat irons and am used to what they can do for my hair. This product didn't come close to what my Solia can do, but it did have some neat features and compared to the days when I used to buy Conair or Revlon flat irons at the same price point, this Wahl Pro Straightener is definitely a score ahead.

I don't like gimmicks when it comes to my flat irons, but I did like the attachment on this iron. I didn't notice too much from the conditioning strip, but the comb portion was a neat addition. Normally I run a comb in front of my flat iron as I pull it through my hair to get out any tangles and ensure that the iron is flattening straight hair instead of kinks. Having the attachment comb was neat because I didn't have to run a comb through first.

The digital display is very cool, simple and clear. I wasn't sure when the unit was at full heat however as I didn't notice any change in the display and I usually need the full 400 degree temperature to get my hair straight. I started using it after about a minute of preheating (which I would consider standard with my other irons) but didn't feel it was hot enough. Even after about 3 minutes, it didn't seem quite hot enough but it did get my hair straight (not stick straight shiny but soft and natural looking straight.)

If you're a flat iron addict, this might be a decent back up iron. If you're new to flat irons or only iron occasionally, I would pick up this iron over a Revlon or Conair and it would give you a nice soft natural looking straightening job.

I initially purchased this iron because it had big ceramic plates and didn't know much about flat ironing my hair. Since then I've been through several flat irons, including the $190 CHI Nano, have even had several keratin treatments done. When used correctly (those are the KEY words) this flat iron by far surpasses the others... It really is a fantastic iron and the strips work wonders--notice a HUGE difference without them.

I've had this about one year or more I didn't use the Healthy Infusions by Walh Pro Straightner for about 6 months since I never bothered to flatten my hair after I washed it. But then, I made a new year's resolution to try a little harder and look nicer and so I pulled the flattener out of the box and fired it up [ie, plugged it into the wall and tried it].

So now I've been using this product for about 6 months and well, I really like it! It's just simple to use, you don't even need to really read instructions...ok, I did for the part on how to lock the heat setting [set your temperature, and then press and hold the button to lock it so you don't accidently press it off or change settings while doing your hair]. Otherwise, really simple to use, just plug it in, undo the cord-prong lock so the flattener opens up and starts safely heating up on the table while you prep your hair with gel or whatever. Then when it's ready, you just take some hair [not too much or too little] and then put it inside the Healthy Infusions flattener and slowly slide it along from the top to the end, don't go too fast, it works better if you heat up sections of your hair for a second or two. Or you can redo the same parts to make sure it's more flat.

It's not dangerous to leave the flattener on, or even if you accidently touch the flattener while it's heating up, it's still pretty safe to handle even on the hottest 410F setting. However, if your ironing your hair, and you accidently touch your head, it will sting a bit but overall pretty safe I think for teenagers and such once you teach them the proper functions.

There is a bit of weight to the flattener, not too light or too heavy but if you have alot of hair, it will take awhile and alot of arm strength [ahah]! I have hair a bit longer than shoulder length and it takes about 15 minutes out of the shower to flatten after I've lightly dried my hair. Definitely does take the frizz out, and leaves your hair feeling nice and soft, not burnt or dry. I do like the function of the clip-on brush, although it only seems to work for the right-handed person? I would like it to be able to change sides or flip it on the flattener, otherwise the buttons are pretty easy to understand, and functional for left or right-handed people.

I like that there's a blue LED display, easy to read and buttons are small but easy to press and there's a safety lock for the settings and at the end of the flattener so that it locks together and isn't open when you put it away in the drawer when not in use. You can curl the long cord around the flattener too. The whole thing is quite durable material and just simple to use and setup. Who knew all those years why I never bothered to flatten my hair? I always thought it was so hard!

So overall, a very useful product! HIGHLY RECOMMEND for the person who just sometimes wants to iron their hair, sometimes change up their hairstyle easy to use!

Andis Micro Turbo Hair Dryer

Andis 33805 Micro Turbo 1600 Watt Dual Voltage Hair Dryer - WhiteI bought this item because I was going to Europe for a month. I didn't want the hassle of using a voltage converter because you can only use one electric item at a time, unless you buy more than one converter kit. You do need a plug adaptor, (these are relatively inexpensive), then you just switch the voltage, plug it in and it works great. I used it in Switzerland, France and Italy. When I came home to the States I just switched the voltage back and I now use it at home. It is small and takes up very little space in the suitcase. I would recommend it for anyone in need of a hair dryer traveling abroad.

The Andis 33805 Micro Turbo 1600W Dual Voltage Hair Dryer is a great little personal grooming appliance. It has two settings: Low and High. I use High almost exclusively, even though I have fine, short, grey hair because I don't like to dawdle over grooming in the morning. Its dual voltage selections (125V/250V) would come in handy if travelling (with an added plug adapter). High produces a rapid stream of air that quickly heats up and stays at a steady, moderately high temperature. Low is appropriate if you spend more time styling with some degree of heat--producing a nice smooth and fuller result. However, I'm a Type-A character who wants the job done pronto, so this is my machine of choice. All dryers sound a little loud right in your own ear, but a family member says that the Andis is quieter than the Sunbeam I recently replaced.

I bought this device to replace a Sunbeam compact dryer, which replaced another Sunbeam, which was preceded by at least two Conairs, and a parade of various compact (mostly) dryers over the last 32 years. This is the BEST of the lot. I actually gambled and bought two at once because compact dryers are getting hard to find now, and my confidence has been rewarded.

If you are looking for a quick solution to get going in the morning after your shower, look no further. This one's a winner!

NOTE: I do not own this hair dryer, but to add a review I had to add a star rating. I used the average of 4 stars to keep the rating unchanged.

PLEASE NOTE that a lot of these hair dryers do nothing more than mechanically lock out the on-off switch from using the HI TEMP setting WHEN set for 220 volt input for foreign countries. That is very typical.

PLEASE ALSO NOTE that the Low Heat mode at 220 volts does not work the same as 110 volts. From an electrical point of reference, doubling the voltage yields a four fold increase in power (wattage). If the Low Heat mode at 110 volts (USA value) is 400 watts, then using this dryer in Low Heat mode at 220 volts (eg, Europe) would generate 1600 watts. That's the way the power equation works. That's how my current unit worked when we vacationed in Europe. Low Heat mode at 220 volts generates high heat and a fast fan speed.

WHAT you lose is the low power curling and shaping mode when using these dryers at 220 volts. There is no 400 watt option in the 220 volt setting.

If you want both HIGH and LOW Heat modes, buy a transformer to convert 220 to 110 volts (and be sure it is big enough, power wise, to handle the 110 volt High Heat wattage). The cost, beyond the purchase price of the transformer, is the added transformer weight in your travel luggage.

I hope this clarifies how these type hair dryers work in Europe.... a retired Electrical Engineer.

PS: Going from USA 60 Hertz (a.k.a. 60 cycles) to European 50 Hertz makes no difference for this appliance.

PPS: None of the 220 V countries use our 110 V two prong or three prong wall "plug". Even if you don't buy the transformer,

you will need a plug converter kit to plug this hair dryer into the 220 V wall outlet (found with the luggage in most department stores or on

Amazon under Plug Converter but be sure to get the 220 to 110 version and not the 110 to 220 for Europeans visiting USA).

I purchased this hair dryer for an unusual reason: my old 1875 watt Conair was actually too much wattage for my bathroom (the circuit kept tripping), so I was actually looking for a dryer with LESS wattage. However, I didn't want to sacrifice power, as I hoped not to have to devote any additional drying time to my shoulder-length hair.

So far, I've been pleased with this hair dryer. It does seem a bit louder than my previous model--not obnoxiously so, just a higher, more concentrated fan noise. The dryer is extremely light and compact; it's actually smaller than my folding travel dryer. It is very basic, with a choice of high/low settings only (there is no heat/cool option), but it seems to dry my hair just as efficiently as my old higher-wattage dryer.

UPDATE November 2007: Unfortunately, we had to stop using this hair dryer after about a year. We found that it would cut off in the middle of use, necessitating turning the unit off and re-starting. Cleaning the air filter sometimes helped, but this problem gradually got worse until the dryer was virtually unusable. When we unplugged it, we saw that the connections had actually started to melt! So, I'm sorry to say that I can no longer recommend this hair dryer--it's back to Conair brand for me. I am also decreasing my rating to 3-star; I would make it even lower, but I suspect that we may have a problem with our bathroom outlet which contributed to the hair dryer's early demise.

Want Andis Micro Turbo Hair Dryer Discount?

I first found and used this hairdryer in a hotel. I was really impressed by how powerful and effective it was. By effective I mean that the flow of air is concentrated and focused as opposed to diffuse, which is how many compacts and hotel models work. It made it very easy to style my hair, and without the aid of extra parts or accessories.

I subsequently bought one for myself, and a second for an elderly parent who now lacks the strength to comfortably hold up the typical bigger, heavier hair dryers on the market. We're both very happy with this compact, easy to pack hair dryer -a model that is excellent for home or travel use. I consider it a well made product -it even comes with a 5 year warranty.

Hope this review was helpful.

It's sad that the original Hairagami is not made anymore, but these are almost as good. They are made of a slightly lighter weight than the Hairagami. Yes, it is two slap bracelets held together by fabric, but it seriously holds your hair back. I am a figure skater and this contraption is the only thing I've ever found that keeps my bun in place during rigorous spins. You have to put your hair in a ponytail first, then roll it up with the Hairagami, then tuck the ends under the bun, and then put a second ponytail holder over the bun to hold the ends in. It works.

this product was nothing it said it would be. Pretty much someone took two snap bracelets and sewed them between two pieces of felt. The stitching came apart on the first use. it slips out of place and only folds one way, so creativity for hair is limited. NOT WORTH IT!

Jose Eber Pro Flat Iron, Black

Jose Eber Pro Flat Iron, BlackI usually do not give 5 star ratings and try to get as much truth about a product on my reviews, but I could not find any faults with this product. For a year now I have been a downright junkie to my Chi straightener. I disliked that it singed my hair, and my hands as well. Jose Eber's team was at the Houston Rodeo and talked me into buying their tourmaline straightener. I told them kindly that my Chi was perfect in every way but they insisted on SHOWING me their straightener. I sat down and agreed. The crowd around me touched my hair and commented on how it was like silk. I too liked the feel, and the ease of usage without snagging in the plates. They sold me one with red plates. Certainly not my color, but it was all they had left. I got home with it and after lamenting on the ugly red color, I tried it. Perfect. My hair is like silk and everyone claims it looks more shiny and healthy. I ask people if they can see a difference from weeks ago and they said, yes. I said, well weeks ago I was using the Chi. This product outdoes the Chi and it even carries a lifetime warranty. I think it, and the 19mm curling iron my mom bought take a bit longer to heat up than the Chi, but oh well. I can get ready and then head to the bathroom to do my hair in a few minutes.

I just got the straightner and yeah, it does get your hair straight and smooth, but not as well as my previous "Hair art H3000" straightner. The reason I got this one was mainly because of the dual voltage thing. I did lots of research, read reviews, watched reviews on youtube and it looked like it worked perfectly, in my case, it's ok, it does the work, it does get my hair straight after like 3 or 4 passes, the plastic seems cheap and it's not hard like other straightners I've seen, if you don't need a dual voltage flat iron, go for the "Hair art H3000" I think it's the best I've had it and nothing will surpass it, in my local beauty salon that's the one they've been using for over 5 years! And so was I until I drop it and burned it in Europe due to a baaaad voltage adapter! I think I might get another one and use the "José Eber" just for traveling.

Brazilian Keratin Hair Treatment 300ml Professional Complex Bottle Free Shipping Available Worldwide

Brazilian Keratin Hair Treatment 300ml Professional Complex Bottle Free Shipping Available WorldwideI just did this treatment. I am not new to brazilian keratin and have used several brands to do my own over the years.

First of all, I am Caucasian with some Irish and I have horrible hair. It is extremely thick, coarse, curly, and frizzy. I think I have 3B curls although I am not 100% educated on the curl classifications, the bottom is very kinky and the top is more wavy like maybe a mixture of 2b and 3a, but still very thick and coarse. It does not curl uniformly and when i used to style it curly, i had to use so much oil, cream, gel, mousse and whatever else to tame it, not to mention keep products available for touch ups and frizz throughout the day and it never looked oily or weighed down, but boy did i spend some money on products. Once i discovered keratin treatments i was hooked.

That being said, on to this treatment ... Oh my hair falls just a few inches past my shoulders when straight.

I thought this would come with a clarifying pretreatment shampoo but it did not, so I used dawn dish soap with a little baking soda to really strip my hair down.

Then I blow dried it about 90 percent and applied on sections as directed, using a fine tooth comb to remove excess product. I was pleased that the application process had a mild odor and didn't burn my skin although I did wear gloves some got on my skin and i washed it away. Once I finished combing it in a noticed a mild tingling in some areas where the product accidentally touched my scalp... but it was less than what some hair dies may cause.

I let it sit for 20 minutes and then blow dried it with cool air ... i was surprised at how quickly it dried as this usually takes a while. I flat ironed in small sections using 400 degrees. I have two irons and used them both, alternating so they had time to retain their heat. One of them is a paul mitchell professional iron, the other is a ceramic iron I bought from a beauty supply store.

There were fumes but really not bad at all compared to some other brands Ive used. I have asthma and I didn't have any lung irritation with this. However, I was very careful to keep my face away from the fumes and did step out of the room to rest and breath fresh air frequently.

The results so far are as expected. I have shiney, soft, straight hair. I plan on leaving it for 72 hours and will update my review after I wash and style it. I have sulfate free shampoo and conditioner.

UPDATE: I have washed my hair 3 times since the treatment (I wash my hair every 2-3 days), and I only apply shampoo to the roots and gently run my fingers through the hair to clean it. I used my own sulfate free shampoo the first wash, the last wash I used the aftercare shampoo from this line which works just fine. I condition with another brand of conditioner that I like which does have keratin. I apply some serum and then I blowdry and flat iron. It takes me about 20 minutes to go from wet hair to finished product which is pretty amazing. I can then wear my hair straight for about 3 days, only needing to touch up with the iron in the mornings for styling. (it's a little frizzy before I style it, but once I style it it stays sleek and smooth) My style holds for the day, and I am a nurse so I work hard and I sweat and it stays smooth all day long. I am very happy, and I have enough product to touch up the treatment as needed, not to mention redo it when it wears off.

I had gotten a Brazilian blowout in a salon once after my sister and mother recommended it. Unfortunately, it did not take, and i was annoyed as it was rather expensive. I was also surprised because my hair is very thin, medium long, and is not curly, which is "optimal" for the Brazilian blowout to work. I was very wary about buying this product. I wanted the super smooth, pin straight hair, but thought this might also be a let down. I however convinced myself because of the reasonable price. I followed the instructions (minus buying the special shampoo and conditioner), and my hair is not only pin straight, it is also super soft and shiny. I would highly recommend this product for anyone who wants smooth, straight, and soft hair. And, if it doesn't take the first time, there is PLENTY of product left over to do it again... Shipping was also super fast. All in all, i am extremely pleased with this product.

I have never been able to chemically straighten my hair, because I have this weird half african american, half middle eastern hair that is super thick and curly, but not nappy. I tried chemical relaxer when I was younger and it had literally no effect whatsoever. However, after this treatment my hair feels unbelievably soft, de frizzed and is WAY straighter. I'm actually still in shock haha. I will update this review after a few weeks to see how it holds up, but so far I'm impressed!

One tip is to make sure you really do flat iron each piece a bunch of times. It felt like way too much flat ironing at the time, but now I can tell the pieces I kind of skimmed over versus the pieces where I did the recommended 7-12 irons.

Loved this product. It worked great and feels very similar to when I got a professional blowout. I will be reordering again. I hardly ever write reviews, but this product deserves it. I'll give a full detailed account of my experience:

MY HAIR:

I am Polynesian-Italian, so I have incredibly thick, medium length, wavy/curly, course hair. My hair takes forever to style, is stubborn, always needs a ton of styling product, can never just get up and go. I had been getting blowouts professionally, but stopped about a year and a half ago because the price is just too high. Since then I've been trying ones to do myself, ranging between Cappola to Organix, but everything 'til this has been a disappointment. I was skeptical to buy this because there were so few reviews, but most of them were good, so I held my breath and bought it.

I washed my hair with clarifying shampoo THREE TIMES; blow dried my hair on medium heat; sectioned my hair and added the product (I didn't have a brush so I just used gloves and poured the treatment into a small bowl)-this part was a little tricky at times because my hair would start to dry a little after adding the treatment and I was unsure if I added too little. I went over those spots, but if you do NOT have incredibly thick hair, I wouldn't recommend that for fear of over saturation; I brushed my hair with a fine tooth comb constantly to even the distribution; let it sit of 30 minutes; blow dried again on medium heat; straightened (in the bathroom with fan, open window, plus an extra fan I brought in blowing directly on my face) about 1 in. x .5 cm of hair at 450ºF and STRAIGHTENED EACH SECTION 7-10 TIMES I wouldn't recommend 10 times if you don't have strong hair, but like I said, I'm Polynesian-Italian, my hair can withstand anything. From start to finish, the process took me about 4 hours.

RESULTS:

I waited 4 days to wash. During the time my hair looked normal, not oily or greasy. It felt smooth and mostly soft, but if you ran your fingers through it, it did have a slight filmy texture. This was completely bearable, I went to work before washing it out and I didn't look grungy at all. After washing, I let it air dry, which is a scary thought because if I do this, I usually look like Tina Turner. It took awhile for my hait to dry because it's so thick, but the results were incredible. My usually unmanageable hair dried almost entirely STRAIGHT AND SOFT. The ends had a slight poof to them, but almost NO FRIZZ. I couldn't believe it. This has cut so much time out of my morning routine. When I style my hair now, I do have to do a few touch ups with the flat iron, but his usually only takes 5-10 minutes at most (before straightening took 1.5 hours!!). I also have enough product to do the treatment again.

CONS:

The 2 day free shipping was great, however when I received my bottle, it had opened and about a teaspoon of product had spilled in to the shipping package.

But to put it into perspective, receiving messy package immediately annoyed me and so I expected the results to be nothing to mediocre at bestwhich luckily wasn't the case. So despite this happening, I still rate 5 Stars.

There were fumes, my eyes did get a little irritated and watery-but this is expected. The same thing happens when you get it done in a salon. When my eyes became too itchy, I just took a few minutes to step out. No scalp burning/tingling. I have asthma, so I tried not to breath it in as much as possible, and had a fan blowing directly at my face, but overall this did not bother my lungs at all.

FYI:

It's been almost a month since I did the treatment and results are still about the same. My hair does have a little bit a wave coming back, but it's minuscule and actually looks good. I use WEN conditioning cleanser and an inexpensive shampoo from Fred Meyer, both sulfate free. I only use shampoo about once a week, otherwise WEN each shower. Wash my hair about 3 x per week.

I know this a super long review, but I'm a skeptic who doesn't believe in most products. This really does work. I will keep using it. I'm incredibly satisfied with the results. I've recommended it to my friends, sister and mom.

Travel Smart By Conair Adapter/Converter Combo with Surge Protection

Travel Smart By Conair Adapter/Converter Combo with Surge ProtectionUpon receiving the product, I first verified that it worked in the U.S. without the converter enabled as a simple pass-through adapter. Once it passed this simple test, I gave it to my girlfriend who successfully used the converter in Hong Kong to step down the voltage at her hotel and at the airport. In addition, her roommate at the hotel was from Beijing, China and was also able to use the device to charge her phone and use her laptop.

The adapter itself is made of plastic, so it's as durable as plastic can be. The knobs that slide along the side lock in place once you've fully extended the prongs. It's a little bulky compared to other adapters, but that's because it contains several mechanisms for various prongs and the voltage converter circuitry. It also holds the input plug very snug, and the output plug also feels like a sturdy connection to the wall outlet.

product worked like it was supposed to. I traveled to a few different countries and it worked in all of them. (Spain, England, Ireland) Very convenient to have an adaptor/convertor all in one!

I used it during a recent trip to Australia and the converter worked fine. But the converter is kind of flimsy and I had a tough time keeping it plugged in.

The converter part didn't work at all. There was no way to test it before I left for Italy. In Italy I tried to use it and it did NOT work as an converter and killed my straightener. It did work as an adapter but there are much cheaper and lighter adapters.

The unit is easy to use. It worked perfectly for my laptop. I did notice that for the camera charger, in the converter mode my charger became hot quickly so I could only charge for a few minutes at a time. And for my curling iron, the converter mode barely heated the iron while the adapator mode over-heated.

I love this flat iron, it straightens my frizzy hair in seconds and leaves it feeling so silky. The shine it gives my hair is amazing too. All the other flat irons i have used never kept my hair straight throughout the day especially when it rained with the humidity, but this one did! I would def. recommend it. The only problem I have is they advertise is the eye shadows with it but I never got mine. :( OH! The shipping was supper fast also!

CHI Deep Brilliance Flat Iron & CHI Deep Brilliance Hair Dryer Purple Combo Set

CHI Deep Brilliance Flat Iron & CHI Deep Brilliance Hair Dryer Purple Combo SetMy daughter cannot stop raving about this item. She says her hair has never been so straight. She was very pleased.

I can live with the color, but it's not nearly as quiet as I had hoped. Actually, the dryer is quite loud. Next time, I will likely buy a professional model. The flat iron is nice, but I feel it should have been ceramic. It works, but it's nothing to get excited about.

Brazilian Keratin Soft Liss Gold Maya 4 oz

Brazilian Keratin Soft Liss Gold Maya 4 ozI live in Florida so with the humidity here my hair is always frizzie. I wanted to go with something more health friendly so I choose the soft liss. After doing the treatment myself, thing that took like 3 hour I have to say that my hair is suuuuper soft and shiny but it is still wavy and frizzy. Nothing compares with the qod white max. The only downfall is the price. On the other side the soft liss was super affordable.

I have relaxed hair and about 6 weeks after my relaxer I do this treatment. It does wonders for my hair. I have no more frizz. My hair is managable and the shine is amazing. I wish I could just get the treatment alone without the shampoo and conditioner cause you will use more of that.

Great product!

My hair looks really healthy, straight, shinny and soft.

I received the product, but no instructions. This is a real minus point, since it is a complicate process.

REVO STYLER Rotating Brush Hair System

REVO STYLER Rotating Brush Hair SystemI have been using the Revo for about nine years now. I've been dreading the day that it stops working, so I decided to see if it's still available for sale on Amazon and was shocked at how expensive it is. I know that if mine breaks, I will definitely buy a new one, no matter how expensive it is. I have very thick hair, and it's impossible for me to use a regular round brush and hair dryer at the same time. I've used the Revo when my hair is long and when it's short. It definitely is much quicker to use when my hair is short, but it works either way. I've never had a problem with it, and I'm surprised that it isn't a more popular product.

I had one of these and used it for years. It was easy to use and the results (straight, glossy, full bodied hair) were great. It broke eventually (from years of use) and I have had a hard time replacing it. Now I see it on Amazon for $140.

While it is worth it, and I probably will buy it, I originally purchased mine at a close out sale at a drug store for $20.00! I just don't know why some of the other manufacturers don't make a similar product.

The Revo Styler is a terrible product and shame on the distributer for not taking returns. Product does not work as advertised. My wife used it one time, after carefully following the instructions for charging and use. The result: poor quality, poor performance, and poor customer service. The only thing more appalling and disappointing than this purchase was in finding out BOARDWALK DISTRIBUTERS does not take returns, even for defective merchandise.

I had two of these for over 11 years and I dreded the day they would die and not be replaceable. I used both of mine almost every day and it was fantastic. I even took mine to the salon where I get my hair done, long and thick. About 5 months ago it happened they are both gone now and I've been trying to find a new one. I am having trouble with the price. They have always been around 99.00 and when you add the shipping to your price it becomes unreal. Ebay has used ones starting at 59.00 used thats ridiculous so if someone like to contact me and help me to understand why the price got hiked up so high and I can understand if there is a legitimate reason, I would purchase one. thank you for your attention

Revlon RV544 1875 Watt Tourmaline Ionic Lightweight Dryer, Silver/Black

Revlon RV544 1875 Watt Tourmaline Ionic Lightweight Dryer, Silver/BlackThis hair dryer is the third in a series of attempts to find the right hair dryer for my wife, who has long thick hair. The first one was a Vidal Sassoon that had ionic technology, but didn't get near hot enough. She was drying her hair for > 20 minutes.

The second attempt was the Revlon RV469 ceramic, which was much quieter and got hotter, but didn't have much air flow. Also, it is quite heavy. It was better than the first dryer, but not hair drying nirvana.

This dryer (Revlon RV544) has easily cut my wife's drying time in half. She has very thick & long hair, and the high heat setting makes quick work of it. It gets hot enough that I actually tone it down to warm for myself (I have short, thick hair) whenever I have to use the dryer. I think the air flow settings are perfect. The dryer is also nice and light, and fits in a bathroom drawer easily, unlike some of the bulkier models out there.

My wife thinks this is the best dryer she has ever had. We highly recommend it.

I was a skeptic when it came to hairdryers--they all blow air into your hair and it dries, right? Not so! The technology in this hair dryer is tourmaline ionic, meaning it reduces static, frizz, and boosts shine. I had a vidal sassoon before, and a Conair before that, and they were supposedly "ionic" but my hair was still quite a bit frizzy afterwards.

This Revlon is amazing, though--my hair is so straight, sleek, and shiny, without having to apply a bunch of creams or shining sprays. It saves a lot of time! It comes with two attachments (diffuser, concentrator)--I've only used the concentrator to straighten my hair and it takes around six minutes and works effectively.

Also, a HUGE bonus is its lightweight! The comparable Conair version (nearly same price, ionic) is so so much heavier, while this hairdryer is easy to move, so I can pick it up and use it all over my hair.

The only con about this as others have mentioned is that you have to hold it carefully or else your fingers will accidentally turn the hairdryer off--the buttons move easily and are near where you place your fingers to hold it.

Bottom Line: This is the best hairdryer for the price. When I used other hairdryers, my hair is very noticeably frizzier and less shiny compared to this Revlon. It's a reasonable price for the technology, and I definitely recommend it!!

Buy Revlon RV544 1875 Watt Tourmaline Ionic Lightweight Dryer, Silver/Black Now

I cannot say enough good things about this dryer! It dries incredibly quickly, is the lightest I have ever owned, and is very reasonably priced. I was going to buy the T3 Tourmaline for nearly 10 times the price, until I realized the seller would not honor its warantee on products purchased through Amazon. I have forever retired my previous ceramic dryer, which strained my arm so much, I considered installing a bracket on my body to hold it up. Other small details that make a difference: loop for hanging; buttons well-placed so on/off and cold setting are not hit by accident; comfortable to hold by nozzle instead of handle if desired.

I first reviewed this product in 2006. I don't use it every day, but it's held up for almost four years. I continue to be pleased with it.

I am a hair stylist and have been for 20 years. I read an article that this dryer compared to the T3 (which is a couple HUNDRED dollars). I figured at this price, how could I not just give it a try. Well... I LOVE LOVE LOVE this dryer! Quiet, light, powerful and dryies my hair FAST. I highly recommend this product!

Want Revlon RV544 1875 Watt Tourmaline Ionic Lightweight Dryer, Silver/Black Discount?

My hair is about waist-length and very thick. It generally takes me 20-30 minutes with other dryers but with this dryer, it took about 10 minutes or less for to dry my hair. And it's light-weight! The diffuser is great too! It lessens the force of the blow dryer...so I guess for all those other reviewers who said this blew too hard, they didn't use the diffuser. In any case, I would highly recommend this dryer to anyone who wants to shorten their blow dryer time!

UPDATE May 30, 2010:

Just wanted to update and say that I still have this blowdryer and still love it. I don't blowdry my hair often but would still highly recommend this!

Tourmaline Tools 1059 by Hot Tools Professional Tourmaline Ionic 1875 Watt High Heat Portable Salon

Tourmaline Tools 1059 by Hot Tools Professional Tourmaline Ionic 1875 Watt High Heat Portable Salon DryerI've only had this dryer for a little over a week, so I will be sure to update my review once I've had it a bit longer. For now I just want to say that I love this device! It makes drying your hair so easy, and it makes for frizz-free hair.

I bought this dryer since I've recently started coaxing out the waves and curls in my hair. Using a diffuser on the end of my blowdryer has helped bring out the curl, but I get impatient with drying, and end up moving the blowdryer around too much, which leads to frizz. Based on research I did online, I learned that dryers like this Hot Tools one are great for curly/wavy hair, and I definitely agree! Using the same products and techniques before drying, I've found that using this Hot Tools dryer leaves me with zero frizz and lovely curls/waves.

It is extremely easy to set this up for the first time (it took me less than five minutes), and, once it's set up, is very easy to maneuver and adjust so that it is positioned exactly how and where you want it to be. If it's not exactly where I want it to be while I'm drying, I can easily turn around while sitting on my stool and adjust it so that it is right where I want it to be.

One reviewer mentioned that you could do makeup while using this, and I had been hoping to do the same so I could save time with my morning routine. I've found that I can apply my foundation, blush, etc. while under this dryer, but because I have to get in close to my makeup mirror to do my eye makeup, I can't sit under the dryer while doing my eyes. I usually set it up, though, at my vanity and check email or do work on my laptop while my hair is drying. It's great for multitasking!

It also works great for deep conditioning treatments that require the use of heat.

I almost didn't purchase this since some of the reviews suggested that the top helmet wasn't too sturdy and had a tendency to break off. I had also been worried about it being unstable, but have found neither of these areas to be a problem. The helmet portion is securely attached, and when I wheel it around or move it to the spare bathroom where I store it, I just make sure that I support the helmet portion so that it won't snap off. It seems like it is really secure, though.

On one side of the helmet/hood portion is the phrase "Purple people heater," which cracks me up each time I use it.

All in all, I'm really glad I got this! As mentioned above, I will be sure to update my review once I see how this holds up with more use, but so far it's fantastic!

UPDATE ON 5/13/11: I've had this dryer for a little over four months, and continue to love it. It works really well, is sturdy, and makes multi-tasking while drying my hair so simple. I really recommend it!

UPDATE ON 7/13/11: This is still working great, with no problems at all! I also wanted to add that I recently had my hair cut by a curly hair specialist who does Deva Cuts, and she said that hard-hat dryers like this one are the best thing to use for curly and wavy hair types.

UPDATE ON 11/1/11: I've had this dryer now for about ten months, and it's still going strong. It works perfectly, and is still sturdy and easy to use.

Right after assembling this dryer, the small plactic part that holds the dryer head to the base snapped. This plastic post, which is weakened by the holes drilled through it for the three attachment rivets, is poorly designed and too weak to handle the torque created by the weight of the dry head. This attachment point is critical in this type of dryer, and should be strong.

Buy Tourmaline Tools 1059 by Hot Tools Professional Tourmaline Ionic 1875 Watt High Heat Portable Salon Now

I love this dryer! It has a higher wattage than the other brands of similar dryers, and it looks better too!

It is not only beautiful but works FAST! I got it to dry my hair in the morning before work, while I put on my make up. I hate standing with a blow dryer!!! I just pin my hair up with a few big clips and sit under this dryer and by the time my make up is done, my hair is dry.

I do still blow dry my bangs first to keep them smooth, but the rest dries in a natural wave due to the gentle air flow from the dryer.

It gets really hot, but you can also set it to a lower temp if you want. But I like it hot so my hair dries fast.

I also like the fact it is on wheels and easy to roll around and get out of the way. My old drier was the type that sits on a desk and it was a hassle to get to the correct height, this one is easy to move up and down.

I have natural 3c/4a hair that takes a long time to dry...but this dryer really helps to speed up the process. This hairdryer is a really great solution if you are like me and hate those old school hair dryers that you have to put on the table... I could never get the right chair height to sit under it. This hair dryer is really simple to put together... and then you can watch a movie with subtitles or surf the internet while it works...

The one problem that I had with my first one is that I was a little careless and moved it by picking it up and not supporting the head... it snapped off and I had to get another one... so just be careful and know that the best way to move this around is by rolling it...

Happy hair drying!!!

I was very disappointed with this dryer. First of all, the high heat setting feels like the depths of Hades and the low heat setting blows cold air on you. I was willing to overlook that, but then my low heat setting blew a fuse or something, so now it doesn't work at all. I ended up giving it away.

Very disappointing :(
