Matrix Opti Smooth Japanese Hair Straightener Kit

I have been straightening my hair for 30 yrs. I used to use lye relaxers and then in 2006 tried Matrix Opti Smooth. I will NEVER use anything else again! It makes my ahir PIN straight, baby soft and silky smooth. I just redid my hair last week with Matrix OptiSmooth.I know that many people read these reviews before making their purchase and here's my experience and how I do it to ensure the best results. I went to my sytlist in Feb to have this done and was disappointed, I am better at this than she is.

Hair Type: Fine with medium to strong curl. Be sure you choose the product for hair texture! If you fine hair even if it is virgin hair use sensitive formula. Coarse hair will need the normal or coarse. DO not use if you have used a lye relaxer or if your hair is bleached. You are taking a HUGE risk if you do. I use sensitive formula. Mistake 1 my stylist made, wrong formula. She fried my hair and didn't take out the curls!

Tools: YOU MUST HAVE A GOOD CERAMIC IRON! DO YOUR RESEARCH ON THIS!! It will make all the difference. I got a Bablyiss Pro on Amazon.

Cheaper irons or the titanium irons. Titanium is metal it WILL RUIN your hair when using Opti Smooth! Mistake 2 my hairdresser made!

PRE STRAIGHTENING: 2 weeks before you straighten deep condition your hair 4x with Redken extreme CAT.This is a pure protein product and will prevent your hair from frying. The CAT will strengthen your hair by 65% after 4 treatments. They used to print on the label. Follow with a heavy moisturizing conditioner like Chi organics olive paste. You want your hair to be over conditioned!

Straightening: There a few tips I have learned over the past 4 yrs of using this. If you have never done this before do a strand test to determine your processing time.

1)Pre treat per directions Don't forget the pre treat spray! It's better to use a bit to much of this than not enough.

a)Apply the straight creme. GENTLY smooth your hair a bit with the palms of your hands while it is processing. Keep a few damp paper towels by you just in case your ends over process.

2) Set your Iron to 450 degrees F or as close to it as your iron will go. Another use a professional iron. This is CRITICAL! VERY thin sections of hair and make sure it looks straight and smooth. It may take more than 3x.

3)Neutralizing: You MUST comb it through for the full 10 min. I comb and smooth. Comb w/one hand and smooth with the other. Mistake 3 my stylist made

I went to the local beauty school and had this done last night. Normally I have thick, curly, frizzy, and unruly hair. Not anymore since they used this product on my hair. I have never been so happy with my hair or the results. It is a bit time consuming, but who cares I got the result I've wanted all my life. Nice straight hair!! What I love about this product is that it doesn't fry your hair like most straighteners do. You do have to wait 48 hours (so I'm told) before you can wash it and it doesn't leave any overpowering chemical smell to it. If you want straight hair I suggest that you look at your local beauty school and see if they have this. If they don't I say buy it and see if they'll apply it for a small fee. I paid $45 for the entire process to have this done and my husband was as amazed as I was about the results. It's totally worth it!!!! Hope this helps.

I have used this system for around 5 years now, and had the heat version done in the salon about 7 times already. My hair is perfectly pin straight, no frizz and no damage. I can literally let my normal very wavy coarse hair AIR DRY.. yes girls... air dry and it is still pin straight. The tip like everyone says is you MUST use small small sections to comb the product in, must not move while the chemical is processing, your hair must remain straight.. also use vertical strips of saran wrap to lay on top of your head will help it take quicker... the PRE-treatment spray is very important... overdo it if you must to protect your hair. when flat ironing you must again use very very small sections and NO CLIPS, have a friend or two help hold your hair loosly while it is being flat ironed.. this process is crutial to pin straightness!!!! and a ceramic iron like Chi or Babyliss should be used, no cheapies! leave the neutralizer in the full 10 min and comb the entire time is also crutial to being perfectly straight as well as rinsing the product the full ten minutes without making your hair a mess. This product is amazing i wish i could get friends to do it for me, it would save me the $360 i pay in the salon for it to be done... but i have long thick hair. good luck ladies!

If you are skeptical to try at home definitely go to a salon that offers this! Be sure you use the right kind for your type of hair... i you have bleached in the past DONT use this or any hot straightening methods unless most of your bleached hair has grown out. It will break it. You may use this is your hair is color treated, just get the milder version. I use normal. and if you hair is resistent to procedures, try the one for resilient hair.

The plates are half inch wide which is good for short men's hair. It's not heavy and you can hold it comfortably for a long time. There's a manual heat setting dial, a power LED and on/off switch on the set. There's no static on your hair after using this iron which is a good thing. This thing isn't expensive. The only thing I wished it had was dual voltage compatibility. Otherwise, this thing is good.

I have stick straight short hair with partial unruly gray and have given up on perms. I couldn't "do" the curling irons because of the kink it left. Back in the 70's, we just wore our hair long and straight and I never had to learn about curlers, curling irons, etc. This 1/2" iron is great! I can curl and heighten my hair styles quickly and easily after blowing dry with the hair dryer. My only regret is that I didn't find this earlier! The swivel cord is a blessing...never buy an iron without a swivel cord. I tried other irons but they did not have the swivel...what a mess! This heats up quickly and is hot but I am able to grab the outside of the iron at the tip and not burn my fingers, something I can't say about other, more expensive irons. Oh...and I forgot about the auto shut off...another great feature! I can't say enough good things about this "straightener" that I use for a curling iron...except thank you Revlon!

Does as it should, was well priced(comparable with it's competitors) and I am happy with the product. Heat control is useful, it heats up quickly, and is light enough that I can keep it on a rubber hook that is stickied to my bathroom wall.

This is an awesome iron! I bought it to replace my ghd 2 inch iron that I bought 5 yrs ago. I am a believer in paying a little more for hair tools, because they last and the quality is worth it! It keeps my hair straight in Houston, TX where the humidity is often 100% in the summer. I bought this off sephora.com and was able to register at GHD website. My item was definitely authentic (see the North America authorised retailer list at the end of this review). I purchased GHD because of all the raving reviews, my hairdresser's recommendation, and especially the travel friendly feature (works up to 240V) so I can use it in Europe and Asia. However, I was quite disappointed at the product because it constantly snags my hair, which is thin and flat to begin with. I bought a CHI from Amazon before. Regardless of whether it was an authentic CHI or not, it was smooth and never snagged my hair. I gave it away to my sister because she had to have it when she used mine. Maybe everyone's hair texture and tolerance to snagging are different, but I found it very annoying every time I use it. The heating plate shield that comes with the product does not stay on well at all. It sits very loosely and is always coming off. Given the above, I do not feel good at all about the price I paid. That said, I am not giving a 1 star because the product did come with a nice clutch to hold it and it heats up in no time with a beep to let you know the tool is ready for use, which is a very nice feature for busy working moms.

Let me start by saying my normal hair routine is: shower, comb, air-dry, and then I'm out the door. I'm not one to really style up my hair, but once my friend introduced me to a straightener, I was hooked. I believe the one she had was a Chi, but seeing as how I have waist-level long wavy asian hair, I didn't see the need to get something super high end. I'm not the type to just splurge on any one thing unless I've done the proper research, so where better than Sephora. Speaking with one of the sales folks, she mentioned the GHD, but I was wary of the fact that it would cost me $185 and that there was no adjustable temperature. Given that I wasn't going to spring for the more expensive item, the Sultra, I opted for the T3 Single Pass since you could adjust the heat.

The T3 single pass was the first change in my hair routine. I absolutely loved it, up until it stopped heating up as much and I noticed that my once lovely-air-dried hair was starting to poof instead without it. Split ends were happening far more frequently as well keep in mind that I use the Bamboo Smooth hair protector, so I was prepped. I know there is no such thing as a non-damaging hair straightener. I decided that the evidence was insurmountable that I should probably spring for the GHD Classic, so I did. The difference in use is astounding! If you are ever contemplating getting the GHD vs. T3, JUST DO IT. The GHD is absolutely amazing even without temperature gauge. It doesn't heat to the point where i can't run my hands through where I just flat ironed. There are no markations and the swivel makes it easy to use. My hair is still straight the next day, up until I decide to shower.

I purchased the GHD New Wave Limited Edition because it was on MyHabit.com (Amazon's version of ideeli if you didn't know!) and somehow they made the professional even better. The GHD professional apparently has aluminum as well and has a cooler barrel that isn't prone to over heating. The main differences are actually on the GHD hair website, so don't try to read too closely into what other people are saying that it's just the 2 yr warranty. The classic GHD I purchased also has a 2-yr warranty (I'm returning the GHD Classic to Sephora and keeping the GHD Professional from Amazon).

On fakes, starting in the latter 2000's GHD started manufacturing in China as well as South Korea, so don't freak out on where it's made. It's a business for grief sake, no one gives a damn that your preference is made not in China. I inputed the hologram code & date code and I am validated :D. Just make sure you always check your vendors, not every vendor on Amazon selling GHD's are real. Just don't be stupid about buying and you'll be good to go!

Goody Heat Wave Creator Styling Iron

That is a question I have never been asked before, since my hair is NOT naturally curly~ it is naturally stick straight and fine. However, this Goody Heat Natural Waves curling iron has gotten me so many compliments in the last few weeks.

The curls it produces don't necessarily look like the sample image, but they are still very pretty. The unique shape of the barrel, which I kind of think of as a unicorn horn, gives you curls that are both loose and tight, depending on how you wrap your hair. If you spread the hair out more on the barrel your curls will be looser, and if you wrap it tighter on skinnier parts of the barrel, the curls will be tighter. I prefer to hold it above my head and wrap the hair from top to bottom, without using the handle clip. The handle is helpful when doing the back and underside of my head, so that I can wrap from the bottom up, but the top layers I always do by manually wrapping the hair from the scalp down.

It was very simple to figure out since I'm used to wrapping my hair around my normal curling iron anyways (without using the clip part) but there are decent instructions included with tips on how to get the best results. One key I've found to really getting great curls is to make sure and unwrap the hair off the curling iron rather than just letting go of the end and letting it unwind on it's own; that can result in a big ratty mess. Unwrapping it carefully helps the curl keep its shape and makes a big difference.

My only complaint is that there were no suggestions on what heat setting to use for your hair type, so I'm not sure if I'm using the appropriate one. I've been keeping it on level 6 (there are 10 temp settings) and the curls hold all day. I've never had a curling iron that could set curls like this one unless I was using gobs of hairspray beforehand, which is damaging to your hair.

One thing I would note is that this curling iron won't necessarily give you those Lauren Conrad loose and flowey waves, and it doesn't give much volume since the barrel isn't very big. I think something like the Conair Infiniti You Curl Tourmaline Ceramic Curling Iron, Colors May Vary is better for that. What this curling iron does is give you a head of beautiful natural looking curls that really last. I've even gone a couple days between shampoos and had the curls still look pretty decent on day two. My hair is to the middle of my back and with this tool I can have it curled in no time. Two thumbs up!

I was a little intimidated by this products at first, before I tried it I though I'm not going to like this at all, it looks complicated, but I was so wrong!

My hair is a medium length, it has a slight natural wave to it, nothing special. But once I used the heat wave creator it gave my hair a really nice natural waves, beachy hair waves. I'm also not one who likes to do much with my hair, which for me is a big thing when I purchase products because I don't want to spend hours on my hair, I have kids and a busy life style, I don't have the time. But when I got this I plugged it in and I was so surprised at how fast it got warm then hot. Speedy, just the way I like it, another pro in my book. Also what I did I just grabbed chunks of my hair in no particular order, I spent maybe a total of 20 minutes on my hair and that was it. I was beyond trilled at the results I called my sister up who is A-mazing at doing hair and make up and showed her on face talk, lol. She was so impressed, she came over and used it and loved it as well.

I have had no complaints about this product what so ever. If I had to choose something I would say maybe the clamp? The clamp doesn't bother me at all when I'm curling my hair. I don't use curling iron that have a clamp. Before I got the Goody Heat wave Creator, I was using an old curling iron that I had just removed the clamp to use the barrel portion only. Besides that I do recommend this product, I was reading some of the negative comments and I personally don't think the negatives were directed at the product, I just think that this is a new unusual item and some people are stuck in their ways and not liking it because of the clamp, or because it doesn't have a longer clamp. Adapt! it's not rocket science, this is a simple tool.

For those who said it doesn't work on short/long hair, I'm not sure what the problem is? I just got my hair cut it was long, long (a few inches from my butt long)and I was able to use it then and after just fine! I know this because I was worried the waves wouldn't look as good if my hair was slightly shorter. But it works just fine either way. Hope this review helps.

POSITIVES: It heats up very quickly. It does a good job of creating loose, natural curls and I received many compliments on my hair.

NEGATIVES:

This curling iron works best with very long hair. I say this because I had trouble keeping my shorter locks of hair from falling off the iron. As you can see from the picture, the clip is very short. Compared to my older curling iron, which sandwiched my hair between two identically long clips, you must twirl long tresses of hair (like spaghetti round a fork) fully around the appliance to keep the hair from falling off. Otherwise you have to be careful not to accidentally touch a hot area when you're holding the hair in place (ouch!)

When using the clip, it is so short that it forces you to put your head very close to the heat of the iron, which I didn't find comfortable.

I'm guessing it was designed this way because a clip tends to flatten the volume a little.

OVERALL SCORE: Good but let your hair grow out for best results!

I was intimidated when I first picked up this curling iron to use it. I didn't think I'd be able to figure it out. I do have to say that my preferred curling iron, though, is a Marcel one. That's the kind without the clamp on it. The "professional" one. But since my last one broke, I haven't been able to find a decent replacement so I've been using a flat iron.

What I do is flat iron my hair first. Maybe you can skip this step, but since I'm African-American, and I wash, wrap, and air dry my own hair, it needs more straightening first. After I flat iron it, I've figured out that the easiest way to use this is to hold the hair I want curled with hard on that side of my head. So if I'm working on the left side of my head, then I hold my parted hair in my left hand, grab the curling iron with my right hand, turn it upside down, and the twirl my hair around the barrel using my left hand. The one thing you'll want to do is leave about 1/2 to 1 inch of hair NOT curled at the very end of your hair. That avoids burns on your fingers. Ask me how I know this.

What I've discovered this is probably meant for longer hair than mine. My hair is shoulder length, maybe an inch past my shoulders. It's not the easiest thing in the world to get the waves but it works. I don't see in the product description that it's meant for longer hair, but the model does have longer hair. Smaller parts makes curlier curls. To avoid standing in front of the bathroom sink for hours, I only curled the "top" part, or crown, part with a few other curls surrounding those. Larger (wider) parts make wavier curls. To get this look it takes much less time. The problem for me with shoulder-length is that the wavier curls don't make much curl at all. They're there, just not a lot.

I like this curling iron. It works very well. You might burn your finger as you get used to it, but if you're a quick reactor, it won't be bad. For the length of my hair, a shorter barrel would be perfect!

I use a Remington Ceramic Curling Wand, 1 Inch, which is a smooth tapered wand without a clamp (and I really like it). But not being very knowledgeable or skilled with the art of curling, I thought it would be good to try out a different type of curling iron. This iron did produce a different type of curl, but I wasn't terribly impressed with either the curl or the operating of the iron.

The clamp is very short, which is good in some ways, and in other ways it makes it a little harder to clamp your hair in it. But the part I really didn't care for was the big selling point of this iron the bumps. My hair had more of a tendency to end up between them instead of over them. The design also forced the hair to wind higher up the barrel than I wanted, leading to most of the hair at the end of the iron instead of evenly distributed. I also found the controls very poorly designed. There is simply a power button and a temperature dial. Simple is good, but this design was annoying in two ways. First, the dial didn't have an indicator to tell you which number was selected. The center one I guess? Second, it was really easy to accidentally hit the button and the dial when curling. I changed the temperature several times this way and once turned off the iron completely.

I think that maybe I have yet to get the hang of this iron, so I will keep trying. But my other iron took all of two or three curls before I felt comfortable with it, so I don't feel like this iron's learning curve should be that much higher.

I was amazed that after washing and conditioning (with Silicon Mix) I was able to run a quick pass of the Conair Iron through the client's hair and end up with silk! Super Straight, Super Hot, Super Flat and Very shiny Hair! I'm sold!

I am currently pregnant and have thick curly hair (even more so due to vitamins). I have been flat ironing since college (9 years ago) and my old flat iron was retired this weekend. I tried this hair straightener on my hair for the first time last week and I was impressed with the results. I had been using the Infiniti by Conair SS9 1 1/2" Nano Silver Steam Straightner, Red and I liked the results that gave me as well, but it was so heavy and made my arms tired to hold it up for so long (I have very long hair). This straightener is extremely light-weight and makes my hair sleek and straight. I like that there are so many different heat settings and that there is a light that indicates when the straightener is ready for you to use. The purple color is a plus also!

I've been happily using the Remington S9500 Salon Collection Digital Ceramic Hair Straightener with Pearl Infused Wide Plates, 1 Inch I got through Vine for over a year now but wanted to compare it to at least one other current commercial flat iron (I also figured that I could leave one at my parents' house and finally really retire my trusty Solano). I'm pleased to say that although this new Conair doesn't surpass the performance of my Remington, it's about as good and has a somewhat cheaper list price as well.

To be fair, a flat iron isn't called to do much when confronted with my hair. It's short, fine, color-treated, and already fairly straight. It's just that it doesn't look too hot after it has been slept on and unless it has been ironed, can get a tad frizzy near the scalp closest to parts of my face if the weather's humid. So just about anything will do for me.

The Conair heats fast (maybe a bit faster than the Remington but I use both at a low temperature) and utilizes tourmaline, rather than pearl, to boost the effectiveness of its ceramic plates. Included is a bottle of argan oil for conditioning. I first became aware of this rather spendy condiment in specialty food stores but never bought it because of the price. FWIW, I won't be using it on my hair either because it's just too fine--I sparingly use a leave-in conditioner called Hydro Milk that I love; my stylist introduced it to me some years back and I've had no reason to switch. Regardless, the Infiniti does a nice job without the argan oil (which, in this formulation, barely contains any argan oil at all--it's mostly chemicals). I don't think it does a better job than my Remington but it's no worse either.

The only thing I really don't like about the Infiniti is the fact that the blades don't lock--I really like this feature on my Remington and it's due to Conair's not having gone the extra mile that I give the final nod to the Remington (and the reason why I nicked a star). Other than that, the Conair is an excellent flat iron and comes with a five-year warranty as opposed to Remington's four-year (both are very generous). Both have an automatic shut-off feature for added safety and swivel-cords that make life easier while you're ironing. I can't imagine that someone needing a flat iron wouldn't be delighted with either one so it comes down to whether or not locking blades are important enough to merit paying a bit extra. If it's not a priority, by all means, add a Conair Infiniti to your cart--you won't regret it.

Pure Heat G-0141 Wet to Dry Iron Hybrid Drying Iron, 1 3/8"

I've had this iron for about a week, since I didn't want to post a hasty review. I don't usually straighten my own hair I can never get the back and so I usually go to a salon but for those days when I don't go to the salon I wanted a way to straighten my hair on my own that wasn't so costly. That this is also an eco-friendly iron makes it even better. This iron works but I have to run it over my hair a few times. I start it at a lower heat and slowly dry my hair without drying it. The iron straightens it out enough with minimal damage. To get totally straight hair I go over it each day but it works and I love it. I also love the color green is one of my favorite colors.

First off, I am Asian, with wavy (not curly) hair that has more volume than I'd like. Hair also sometimes frizzes on a humid day

I love this product! My hair was previously rebonded. I stopped rebonding my hair because it was so damaging, and use this product instead.

Pros

My hair is super soft after I shampooed--and there were no tangles! Normally, my rebonded hair gets super tangled when I shampoo.

No falling hair when I shampoo. I usually check the number of strands that fall whenever I shampoo. Everytime I do BKT (Brazilian Keratin Treatment), there is definitely less breakage. Sometimes I know when the BKT is due again because there is more falling hair

The more times you use this treatment, the better and longer the effect. The first time I used it, it was "OK", not too pleased. (Maybe I did not know how to use it at first?) So I did the treatment again after 2 weeks. Then I needed another treatment after 2 months, then another treatment after 4 months. So the more you do this treatment, the longer the time between treatments. Now its been 5 months since my last treatment and my hair is still ok. Maybe its the keratin getting fused to your hair after so many treatments.

This reduced the volume of my hair and I love that! There even came a point when I looked for volumizing products because I had too little volume. But I forgot about it, thinking that my hair will have more volume as the treatment wears off.

This reduced the styling time for my hair--hair dries much faster and I only need 1 pass straightening iron to curve my hair at the ends. When I've cut off all the hair that has been rebonded, I reckon my hair will be wash and wear.

-Best of all, there is no waiting time for this product--you can wash your hair 30 minutes after treatment. With other brands like coppola and zene progress, you can't rinse your hair--the product has to stay on for 2-3 days--grossss!!!!

-cheaper to do the BKT treatment yourself, cos salon BKT treaments can cost $200-300.

Cons:

-some people like the chocolate scent, but I don't. I think QOD red (strawberry scent) will smell fresher.

-the treatment requires 410 to 450degrees fahrenheit (232 celsius), which can be damaging to fine hair--adjust accordingly (you can use 420F for fine hair). Zene progress is not as good as QOD, but you can do BKT at 356degrees fahrenheit (180celsius).

-the results are not as dramatic as in the websites--then again, none of the BKT treatments have the results that are as good as they post in the websites. Results vary--if you have super curly hair, then you might try rebonding first, and then follow up with this treament, because BKT will at least minimize the damage that rebonding caused.

Its hard to iron the hair at the back of your head cos you can't see if it's straight (same with all BKT products). So it's better to do this with friends (they do your hair and you do theirs). Me and my friends have a BKT session every 3 months or so--beauty and bonding time! ;-)

I will never perm my hair again. The only problem I have is no one can flat-iron my hair and get the product to bond as wellas I can on someone else's hair. Best result, do this overnight. When you wake up, flat iron your hair quickly and wash with a sulfate free shampoo.

Buyer beware!!! I have used the Thermal Shiny Str8 several times (this would be my third touch up). It's a fantastic product. But if you buy through Amazon, make sure it's coming from Sleekhair.com because they guarantee their product integrity. My most recent kit came from "Raging Success"; I didn't realize it, but the step 1 (most damaging step) was so old, it had oxidized. There was a ring of brown around the jar that I didn't realize meant that the chemical was compromised. All seemed fine, application to rinse, until I blew my hair dry. Folks, I was literally STANDING IN MY HAIR!!! I have never seen breakage like that in my life! It even broke off the bottom four inches of my hair in places where I didn't even have chemical (I only touched up my new growth). That product was so degraded that it was like battery acid as it rinsed out of my hair, enough to melt it right out. Oh, by the way, just so that you know, my hair was in the greatest shape it has been in in years and was growing out beautifully. Just came back from having my hair cut off from the middle of my back to my shoulders. Have to now grow it out all over again..it will be years before it's where it was. I also have little stumps of hair all over the top of my head (crown) that are about 1 and a half inches long. Unbelievable. Get the product, it's truely wonderful; takes forever (3-6 hours depending on how much hair you're doing) but it's well worth it; touch up is only every 6 months or so, but get it from a reputable company that won't sell you old, compromised product just to get it off their shelves. Unbelievably poor company integrety.

I had very frizzy hair that use to break all the time and couldn't get it to grow past shoulders from breakage. I did this treatment myself and loved loved loved the results. I did it for the second time a year later. My hair is now almost to my butt. No frizz or struggling with hair. I just did it for my mom last month and she loves the results as well. Be sure to follow directions carefully.

I needed an inexpensive hairdryer. When it arrived, it was not as large as I thought it would be...that's a good thing when you're tight on storage space. I would say this is a mid-size hairdryer. Not the full gigantic salon-sized version nor the mini travel version. It doesn't seem too noisy when on and the volume of air it blows is pretty decent.

The overall construction is as you would expect for the price...a glossy smooth plastic outer shell surrounding the internal heating/electrical/mechanical workings. The switch is easy to manipulate into the desired setting: down for low and up for high. The cool shot button allows the hairdryer to ramp up into the high mode but blow out cool air. The filter cover on the end of the hairdryer is easy to remove by twisting off. I prefer this type of filter cover over the hinged version that you cannot run under the sink for a good cleaning. If you ever rinse the filter cover, make sure it is absolutely dry before putting it back on the hairdryer as water and electricity do not mix! On the topic of electricity, the hairdryer also features a GFCI plug in case your bathroom doesn't have a GFCI outlet. This feature trips the power off to your hairdryer in case it comes into contact with water, preventing electrocution.

The weight is decent and lightweight, not too heavy to hold while drying your hair. The handle could be a bit more comfortable, but for the money I cannot complain that much.

I don't know about durability, but I think it was a decent purchase and very utilitarian.

Took awhile to get the product, but I guess there was a mistake @ the Post Office or on the sellers computer... Either way I got the flat iron... It looks kinda "cheap" unlike my friends HerStyler... This is a really nice iron. I have dry, long curly hair and it works great! The picture however shows the box, info tablet and a small carry bag. My iron came right away but I noticed the info tablet was for the zebra curling iron, not the flat iron, I also never received the small carry bag as shown in the picture. I'm not to worried about it though, the iron works great and its hard to find any flatiron regardless of name brand or not, that works good for under $30.

Royale Professional Ceramic Straightener Iron "Classic Hot Pink"

You can usually count on mall Kiosks to be the worst place to buy a product and in the case of this Royale product that was definitely the case. My wife and I first saw this in the mall with the "snake oil" salesman using it on our daughters hair much to her chagrin. The curls were awesome and with his skilled hand it took only a few minutes to curl her hair. Awesome... but how much? Well, the first price was full list price, which caused me about to fall out of my shoes. After saying, thanks, no, the price dropped to half that before becoming less than 100 with the second one for 20. At that price, with my beautiful begging daughter I said I'm interested what does it come with. Well, seeing the boxes I thought I'd try out Amazons shopping tool and just scan the bar-code. Imagine my surprise to find the EXACT same product here for 10 percent of the price. Mall man wouldn't come closer and told me I had wasted his time. In fairness, I did, but I still bought one all the same.

So, now for the product itself. Not bad. Not easy, but with practice and time you can get really good results. My hair is about a half inch long, so it was mostly my daughters that got to enjoy this, but the results staid well in their locks and they're happy.

Quality seems decent; packaging is good. I would buy another if I have to, but it would appear that this is going to last a while. My recommendation to everyone, though, is watch the training video that comes with it. Definitely worthwhile and a time saver. You won't regret it.

Box and warranty card are faded and item just looks used also manufacturer website states they will not honor warranty for items purchased from unauthorized sites. Was billed as "New". However, I would have paid this for a used product in good condition, and this item is still working well after a few weeks. My step-daughter came home from the mall with one she paid $200 for. I choked at the price but LOVED the straightener when I borrowed it. I couldn't bring myself to pay that and found this identical item here for $39. I have thick, coarse, curly hair. This straightener is like a miracle. It leaves my hair soft and silky, and now I that I have learned the technique for making waves and spiral curls with a straightener, I don't need any other products.I let it dry naturaly and then straighten. No more packing blow dryer, straightener, and curling iron. I don't use hair spray or gel with it, and the style holds up better than with any other product I've used. Well worth the price, but again, I am skeptical that mine was new, and I would prefer the seller be honest. One last point, the ability to set the temperature up to over 400 F is probably the biggest difference between this and the Chi I have. My Chi does not have a temperature control and cannot compare to this product despite it's $150 price tag.

True Ceramic Pro Infrared Ionic Styler

This product is a complete scam, do not buy this!! Research it and you will see all the other complaints!

This product does not use ceramic baked plates. The plates are actually metal coated in some type of red paint. The paint chips off soon after using.

The product also has a tendency to malfunction (as in stop working) soon after purchase.

If you can get a hold of a representative at their customer service (which is impossible right now because they have been upgrading their phone systems for a few weeks now) they will pretend to understand your concern and will state to either refund your money or send you a new product.

At this point, nothing happens. Many people have been charged again for shipping costs or for no reason at all. Watch your credit card account!!

Others like me have been waiting for almost 2 months and still have not recieved the 'true' ceramic pro. I have left messages for customer service and sent emails and I have waited for more than 2 weeks for someone to get in contact with me. No one has. No one will.

I bought the wonderful True Ceramic Pro and that amazing price of $140.00. Let me just tell you it is the biggest rip off ever! The paint has come off my iron, and the cord has an electric fault. Which means if you dont play around with the cord, it does not stay on, all this happened in less than 6 months. I called for a replacement 3 months ago and am still waiting for a new one. I also fell for the Infomercials, and it did work GREAT at first, then I noticed my hair wasn't looking to great and started breaking off, and the red paint was chipping, I had a very hard time getting through to customer service, but they were very nice, when I did get a hold of them, I got 2 replacements, both chipped, and finally they refunded my money. Oh, and the last one, just stopped working, on top of chipping. And it is metal underneath the red paint. I wonder if they will get sued?? This iron is wonderful! It makes the irons you buy at your express department stores look like toys. This iron straightens my hair with the professional look that my hair stylist provides.

I did a lot of research before spending the money on this. I've used once since receiving and love it. Redken Iron Silk 07 Ultra Straightening Spray 8.5 oz

This product is great for use with a flat iron, or a curling iron. It adds some extra protection from heat damage, smells great, and really does make your hair feel like silk. It also help your keep your style longer, and it helps to block humidity out too. It is a bit heavy though, so if you have fine hair like me, I don't recommend spraying this stuff on right at the roots, or it will make your hair a bit flatter than normal. It doesn't feel stiff or sticky once you brush your hair, which is a huge plus for me. This is definitely one of my favorite Redken products.

As a hair care professional I use this product on all my clients before flat ironing or curling their hair.
